Thank you so much, watch my pen weaving sticks tutorial you can make 100's of weaving sticks at a fraction of the cost. You can make the bags bigger if you use more sticks Or pens
So helpful. I have some weaving sticks but have so much trouble controlling them. I never thought about a home made clamp and working flat! Will be trying this for sure. Thanks. 😊
i have seen these sticks ( needles ) before but did not know what they were used for or how to use them .. until now .. you do such wonderful crafts , thank you for sharing your talent with us . and i must say i just LOVE your accent .. good luck to all who enter . god bless
Wait until you see what I have just made sticks with. I also bought an embroidery stand from a local charity shop to hold my home made clamp and I have just one tiny adjustment to make and my next video will be on my channel in the next day or so. xx Thank you for the kind comments and thank you for watching xx
Love this bag. Your ideas are fabulous. I hope that the weaving sticks are still around as it is now a year later as in May 2018. Nice to hear someone who has a voice like mine.
This is beautiful, and a great way to weave without having to have a big, expensive loom that takes over a room in your house! TY for this tutorial, & for introducing me to this craft! Beautiful! I'd love to do some skips & such that make patterns! I'll have to get some of these weaving needles & play around with that! Looks fun & easy!
or you can trap them inside a long clamp. I posted a video to show how easy it is to make a clamp. If you dont have a drill you could always wire or tape the clamp together. th-cam.com/video/aWY_SAKJnuE/w-d-xo.html
more on the way with a huge surprise with the sticks.... 36 sticks for 99p I will show you what I came up with hahah so cool and very very colorful. AND IT WORKS
I am to late for the prize. I do enjoy your lessons. I will try the bag. I will also attempt to try making my own loom. Will keep you posted. Thanks a lot.
Try my weaving stick tutorial and make your won sticks. it is so much cheaper and you can still make the bag using these. I got 35 weaving sticks for a fraction of the cost of a bag of sticks. th-cam.com/video/mqU0zTRxAHE/w-d-xo.html
Oh Allison, you have taught us yet another craft that looks fun, thank you. It is so clever and very effective. I look forward to seeing all the makes from this one on Craftytwunts, I am certain there will be many people posting their successes after watching your tutorial.xx
I tried to keep you in mind You and my other crafters who are not as able bodies as others inspire me now to look at crafting in a diffrent way. I used to always do it in a way to overcome my own small disability's but after talking to you and others you totally inspire me to look at alternative ways either to hold, secure, or just plain slap a book on it to weigh it down hahah I am so glad to talk to you and hope one day we can meet up for a blether and a cuppa xx Keep me on my toes Carol please xx
I watched this and your make-your-own weaving sticks tutorial from the felt tipped markers and have to say it's such a beginner-friendly channel! I was on the fence about learning to weave but with the marker video it allowed me to repurpose something I already had so it didn't cost me anything and this bag is such a simple demonstration to keep up with and remember. It was easier for me to make a small one because I'm on the go alot but another decently sized, sorta cute satchel to make is 9 or 10 sticks for the bag, and 2 less for the top, with either 3 or 4 for the strap. It's a lot smaller but it still looks cute especially keeping the fringe. Wonderful video and great instructions, Thank You :)
Thank you so much, you can use the same technique to make a rug or blankets. Also, lots of people make mats from carrier bags to give to the homeless so they have a nice soft protective barrier to sleep on. Just cut the grocery plastic bags into strips so you have a loop then loop lots together and weave with them.
Thank you for watching. Thank you very much. I have to promote my channel and tutorials it a lot harder as someone uploaded all my tutorials and tried to pass them off as theirs. That channel has been banned but not before it severely damaged all my ratings. So I have to try and boost my tutorial watch time, likes and subscribers.
Thank you so much for sharing these helpful tips!Let me share some with you, I am a weaver as well. I made the stand-works great! Before I put my sticks in it- one by one- I wove a header-I wove thick yarn through them-laying them on the edges of the table- till they were stationary-placed them all in the holder at the same time, tightened and used C clamps to secure on the ends of the table. Before I start weaving I will remove the header yarn. Hope I've given you a tip or two- Happy Crafting! On second thought leave the header yarn in- to hold sticks straight while weaving- can remove when you advance yarn.
Have you seen the one I did use felt tip pens? I show you how to make your own from very cheap bargain store colouring pens. You get loads more for you money by just spending a few min preparing them th-cam.com/video/mqU0zTRxAHE/w-d-xo.html
Love new weaving techniques and I'm desperately searching for a great deal on these and they are around $20 canadian for 5 in a pack. I really want the deals so I can make a setup about 5 feet long. Later tonight I'm going to check out your marker solution. I'm all about the thrifty 😉 great idea. Btw you helped me a few times understand projects and I thank you. I'm honna keep up with your videos cause it's just great 😊 also the accent reminds me of my Scottish great aunties and women from my family from newfoundland. I'm 36 and I'm still that little girl just jaw slacked trying to understand them when they get talking! Lol no one understands that unless they've had it. So thanks from owen sound, ontario.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel just genius! I loved that idea so much I just thought I would never have come up with that. Now to find a bunch of markers or pens and have enough lol I'm a horrible knitter but I can do some mean looming lol I always wondered how someone knitted in that pattern, it's so cool. Plus it seems very sturdy and warm, I live in the snow belt so when we get kids I'm thinking this might become a fav blanket or even purse like you did.
Hi! I really enjoyed watching your video and I learned a lot! I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I would love to win the bag that you made while teaching us the skill.😊
try making them with the pen tutorial I have called weaving pan sticks I made lots with empty felt pen casings at a fraction of the cost. I made 35 for 99p

Very easy just cut the wool and tie on your next color as close to the end stick as you can and continue weaving. or use wool that has multiple colors in it.

Hi Cindy, Thank you for watching. I have tried this unless they are sturdy they bend. I made loads for less than £1 with old felt pens or buy a very cheap multi pack from $1 store or poundland. Try my pen tutorial th-cam.com/video/mqU0zTRxAHE/w-d-xo.html
i have just placed my order for 30 sticks. i hope to make a rug with T-yarn and fabric. if i wanted a 15" mat to run along the length of the bath. will the weave shrink or go a bit bigger onec of the sticks. and what do you given your space between needles . is it the thickness of the yarn you are using? all so what is the best way to finish off?
Tshirt yarn is stretchy so I will say depends on how tight you weave it. The mat will shrink in, but I can't say by how much yours will. Mine have usually gone in by 1 or 2 inches so I add 3 extra sticks to overcome this. I hope this helps xx
