That’s what allows me to use my bolt action rifles-the LONG bolt handle on the heavy German target rifle is what I had welded to my Tikka bolt handles.
Glad to see in one of your shorts that you were able to find a 121 131 141 series Winchester bolt action .22 with twin front locking lugs, twin claw extractors and controlled round feed at least in the Model 141 tube feed I have here. The ones made in 1967 do not have a serial number so easy to tell when those were made. Miniature M70 rifle like Dads for the lad in the house.

Greetings from the chilly south Okanagan, thanks for the video. I'd seen a few other videos regarding this action at last year's SHOT show and was hoping they were still moving forward. Heaven knows it's good to see Canadians both working and developing new product, especially in the firearms field. All the best.
Hi Mike I like the new prstine bolt and action you are showing. My favorite rifle is husvarna light weight 30-06 . Best Gun I have ever own . There are so many great old guns though. Love your videos Mike !!
That Wichita action brings back memories. Had a .308 Winchester pistol with this action back in the '90s. Great ground hog gun out to 400 yards or so. Eh, regrets of selling guns..

Mike, if you are going to build up a rifle with the Pristine action that would make a great set of project videos. Keep us posted. I am very interested.
Neat video. The Pristine action is really slick and interesting. Your Wichita target action is unusual and very cool! Have looked at any of the American Rifle Company actions?
Very interesting action. On the topic of newer bolt action systems, have you seen or heard anything about the new (as of 2023), ER Shaw Exclusion action? They offer it as a barreled action or full on rifle- I’m planning on getting one in 6.5 Remington Magnum at some point, but I haven’t really seen any reviews or info about it online.
@grassroot011 ---> Hello. It is La Canada, in Los Angeles County, in southern Cal.. It has the little Spanish accent mark over the letter n ( ~ ). They pronounce it: La Can yada.
You have my interest with the Pristine action. I am think, ( just thinking to my self ) of a target rifle. This looks like an action tat should be considered. As far as picking a caliber to use for 100 metre and 200 metre range, I have to decide on which one.to use. Thanks for this video Mike. P.S. I would like to see what you have in the Savage you mentioned. I have a Savage model 12 single shot in .223, that shoots well for me too.
Thank you - I was thinking about cal. as well - and will probably go with .308. There are newer and fancier cartridges though. I'll show the Savage soon. All the best.
Hmmm, I think this action would be great with a 26" spiral flutted barrel threaded 5/8 24 and Eric Cortina tuner brake added on to the barrel. A Canadian MDT 26 light weight hunter chasis. Is this action available for 300wsm? It just maybe my next custom project. Thanks again for another interesting video. As an additional side note, I am also looking for a straight pull rifle by a German company called "Steel Action." Have you ever owned one these german rifles as well or have your ever made a video on how to import a rifle from Germany as an example.
I like your plans/ideas for a Pristine! As for the Steel rifles; I can't find a distributor in the US or Canada. I tried to order from Germany a couple of years ago. I like the Pristine idea better. IMHO
This is a rotational bolt... I have a Sauer non-rotating bolt.... advantages? I like the smoothness of the Sauer...BUT, finite review...the Sauer action could be improved.... Based on my learning from many of your great videos.....Thank you
I'va bought 2 Pristine actions two summers ago and so far have replaced both bolt handles and just recently had to replace the whole bolt but they keep sending me the wrong one. Oh and when I bought my first Pristine Action they had to replace that bolt as it was sticking when chambering a round. The problem with the bolt handle is the use of a set screw which location has made the handle week' ps: I'm Canadian and bought Pristine for that reason but due to all the costs and downtime I should have bought American.
Important post - thank you! Very important for manufacturers to know and hopefully, helping you (the customer) is their #1 priority. I will contact them as well. Much appreciated that you took the time to write and share. All the best.
You must be in Washington? I have one of their actions in my gun room. It's waiting for a JC Custom Barrel. Once I get it I'll spin on the action, add the Trigger Tech trigger and put it in my MDT chassis. All Canadian made. I'll have to use a made in Japan scope, but I'll let you know how it performs when I get it together.
Bravo - you're way ahead of me : ) The more I study the Pristine - the more I like it. Can't wait to hear from you about your rifle! If you don't mind - what cal.?
Good morning, Sure, it's 24 caliber. The barrel is a JC Custom's 28 inch polished stainless steel heavy varmint straight taper with a 7.5:1 twist, chambered in 6 Creedmoor, no muzzle threads. Still waiting delivery of the MDT ACC premier chassis. Have a Long Shot Precision adjustable bag rider and a Henry Rempel F-Class bipod to attach. Scope is a Delta 5-50X56 DLS-3, MOA, MDT 34MM rings. The Pristine Action is single shot so no Magazine, I remove the ejectors on my bolt guns and remove the fired brass by hand, no PRS or hunting with this gun, just long range steel. I couldn't find Peterson brass so I had to buy Lapua with small primer pockets. I load them with CCI small rifle primers, H4350 powder and Berger 105 grain, .243" diameter Hybrid Target bullets. That's about all I can think of to tell you about this one until I start on the load development. I'm toying with the idea of getting a second barrel for it. 30 inches long, chambered in .22 Creedmoor. I've watched quite a few of you videos and I enjoy them, thank you.@@UnitedStatesOfGuns
Forgot the trigger, Trigger Tech Diamond Pro Curve. I have a few Timney which I really like, but I tried a Trigger Tech and now I'm hooked on them. I won't be swapping out the others the Trigger Techs are rather on the expensive side, way on the expensive side.
I have 100 rounds through this rifle now, I can say I'm very impressed with both the Pristine action and the JC Customs barrel. The action is the smoothest I've ever used. Mine is a single shot and I've removed the ejector pins, the extractor holds the case until I reach in and remove it for boxing. Mainly one finger operating the bolt.
🤕 I just went to the "Pristine" website and looked around. Ay YI YII !! They want $1,300 (Canadian Dollars?) for the action. Not a rifle, just an action with Remington 700 style spring push ejectors. No thanks! I could buy a 3/4-ton Chevy pick-up in my State for $1,200. and a couple of tanks of gasoline for what "Pristine" wants for a push-feed action. The video was informative, but some of us have to buy medicines and pay the rent. I'll stick with my SMLE / Lee-Enfield whole rifle.
I noticed that as well. I love solid integral recoil lugs. Also, if you are going to make a stainless steel action. Make all the parts stainless steel, including the bolt, handle, etc. Companies are cheap cheapening out.
@currituck exactly right. It's like wtf. I've seen so many products that are made so well 99percent of the way and drop the ball on the dumbest shit to cut a few cents off production. Ugh.
I do and don't. I bought a new Remington 700 SPS Stainless and it came with a blued bolt head, follower spring and swivel studs. The gun is fine, bit a Stainless steel gun should have all stainless steel parts. My old Marlins and Rugers do and my now gone old Remington 700 BDL stainless synthetic did. Companies are skimping on us.
Vielen Dank! I really like the explanations of bolt action dynamics. Would a single barrel and reciever made from a single piece of stock be the best way to achieve acccuracy? No need to fasten the barrel to the receiver and no variables between the metal. 416 stainless is both barrel and action steel. It would seem that the action could be machined directly onto the 416 stock. The barrel lug groove could be machined out of the barrel or the reciever section of the stock and fastened to the stock with a U bolt style of lug. And then to Valhalla and such. Or sub 1/4 accuracy.
It's good to see more guns being made in Canada looks like a great well made action.
