So, I want to leave a comment. Actually, six months ago, my English was very slow and bad. So, I started watching at least 10 minutes of your videos every day. One of the reasons I kept watching is that you guys use simple words, which made it understandable. Day by day, I started watching more challenging content and so on. Now, my level has improved, and I am so grateful. Keep doing this, guys!

Believe me. The only channels in which I'm currently subscriber is this one and Learn English with TV series. There are lots of solutions to my learning problems in the channel such as translating in your head, or being good at writing and bad at speaking, and so on. These videos are pretty useful to me. Thank you for your inspiring and informative video with great conversation! From my perspective, native speakers never need to learn much about grammar since they were immersed in a environment where their native language emerged everywhere, they have bunch of ‘data’ being input and they have endless time to consume and internalize those patterns. What’s more, I think toddlers below the age of 3 may own the ability of learning language in a natural way due to some brain cognitive mechanisms.
As for non-natives, I think it’s somehow useful and necessary to systematically learn some basic and fundamental grammar to open their door to a new language, especially for those languages from another language family.
But I do agree that people shouldn’t pay so much attention on grammar learning and dig into those detailed grammar rules or tiny mistakes they may have made. Grammar and connection to people in real world are ‘ two legs for walking’ :)

The language is basically for communication and to speak naturally the focus should be on listening and speaking rather than writing and Grammer
the big error of the school English is that the teacher gives great emphasis on Grammer rules and neglect listening and speaking skills . So many students master Grammer rules and can't speak real natural English and this is very frustrating . They don't understand natives while speaking.
I see there are two solutions for this problem
First the main concentration should be on listening and speaking as any language is a means of communication
Secondly, Grammer is important but it should be taught in real practice giving many examples from our real life. In other words, if the teacher explains the present simple so he should make his students talk about their daily routines . In this way the teacher puts the Grammer into real practice

I don't believe that someone can learn English without learning the basic structure of the language but just listening to music or watching series or movies.
I myself, when I was at the very beginning of my studying, didn't know about the basic rules and structure at all. I had started learning English by Alexander Dragunkin and just in 6-7 months I understood how it works and I didn't make stupid mistakes like 'she come' or 'he would goes'
Maybe I'm not that intelligent like many students but I'm glad I came upon my first virtual teacher who taught me the basics
After that I had watched a lot of media in English and red a lot of texts which expanded my vocabulary significantly. Now I'm reading the Harry Potter books with some 90% understanding without using a dictionary.

It was a great podcast ❤ What you guys say is really true, I live in Sri Lanka which is one of the touristic countries. Just the other day I saw this guy who was talking to this woman from another country. I've seen this guy many times around my city, maybe he is a person who spends all his time just wandering around the city, so maybe he is a street smart guy & knowing nothing about grammar. This is a bad habit, but I did want to listen to their conversation, I mean I wanted to hear his way of speaking. I was amazed by listening to it, He didn't use grammar so much but somehow he was able to get his idea across, & he connected sentences just like a native does. And this women she is from Germany & she's a really nice person, like with genuine smiles, maybe she's in her mid twenties. I didn't want to listen to their whole conversation because that's a bad idea. But they must've been made a great connection & She talked about her tour. I felt ashamed because I've learned English from school & after studies, I'm still learning. but I'm still afraid of speaking in English, I don't think that I would be able to speak like that, If I were in that situation. Besides he somehow used grammar here & there, so he might've been developed his grammar skills by listening to those grammar patterns of other speakers. So I guess there're other things that matter most to have a great connection. Some of them are like communication skills & your ability to understand other person.
