Hey Bros, As First thanks for 100 000 Subs :D
For this video I made Andúril out of beech wood. It took me about 8 days every day from 9 am to 11 pm (sometimes after midnight) it was a lot of work but it is worth it!
I am also super thankful to Lukasz Kapuscinski, not only for letting me use his music for video, but for making beautiful arrangements for guitar. I personally play many of his arrangements because they are simply absolutely beautiful !!

About Sword:
134.4 cm total length
103.2 cm blade length
made out of beech wood
grip made from genuine leather - tinted black
Swords runes:

Nányë Andúril i né Narsil i macil Elendilo.
Lercuvanten i móli Mordórëo.

I am Andúril who once was Narsil, sword of Elendil.
The slaves of Mordor shall flee from me.

There is also elvish writing on the pommel, which was on Narsil before Andúril was made from Narsil shards, but that was a bit too complicated to carve so I didn't do it because I could mess up whole sword.

Very bright was that sword when it was made whole again; the light of the sun shone redly in it, and the light of the moon shone cold, and its edge was hard and keen. And Aragorn gave it a new name and called it Andúril, Flame of the West!

*gasps* wha, wait.....is that thing made of wood?
Here is a tip......seal your wood with a light layer of Acrylic wood filler then sand it back down with fine sand paper. That way you can hide the grain of the wood and create a smooth surface to paint on. It allows you to go really glossy with the finish. You can then add paint and wipe it off to look like real metal.
Looks amazing. You should do a whole Lord of the Rings series. Glamdring, orcrist, sting, gimli’s axes, all the evil weapons, it would be so awesome

Shame this channel appears to be dead. Only just found it and I love the wooden weapon builds.
Would have loved to see a gothic Flanged Mace, a proper medieval Warhammer, a Poleaxe or even the epicness of a 5'9" to 6' long full size Flamberge Zweihander Greatsword.
It is not exactly dead, but posponed because of virus situation. I am renovating 150 year donkey barn to become new workshop 😁 🍺

Well I hope the new workshop is what you want it to be. If you don’t already watch Adam Savage’s Tested channel (yes that Adam Savage from Mythbusters) here on TH-cam, you should check it out. He has a lot of vids on workshop infrastructure.
Well if you do make the Zweihander in particular. Make sure it’s as tall or a bit taller than you. Real Greatswords were polearms in the shape of a sword. A lot of modern reproductions (even by good sword brands like Albion) make them waaaay too small. So people often think they were smaller than they were.
Yeah because I work during the summer as tour guide on a boat around national park islands and I play guitar at the street everyday, then workshop came in October 2019.. it is a lot of work, we still didn't get machines nor electricity so I am still without videos.
@@EpicWorkshop Ah, fair enough. Cool that you're a fellow Axeman (weapons pun intended lol). I've ever tried street performance myself. All I know is metal and I doubt that will be that popular lol.

I've recently started my 3 year training/apprenticeship/so and so to become a carpenter and when im bored i make wooden swords. And i can now say that the swords you make are what I've set as a goal for myself for these next years. Though i believe keeping the wood unpainted is often a better aesthetic than hiding it under the metal paintjob

About 6 mm tapers to 4 mm 🍻 this is the thinnest wood sword I made for now

Yo this is a great piece. I made one in 2018 using only rasps and a jig saw (wish I had more tools lol). I love what you did with with the paint because this is dang near perfect. I wish this video was around when I did mine so I could have done some things a little different. Especially the hilt. You nailed the complexity of design. Can I send you a pic of mine if you want! An amazing piece. the only thing that gives it away as being wood is the slight grain in the finish.
