just gotta use replica dummy grenades and set up the explosives separately so it's more predictable as they've done, it would've been a lot more dangerous if he had to run from an actual cooking grenade, safety's still important

I have a suggestion for you. Though rare, there are stories about refrigerators exploding on their own. I suspect it is a result of the high pressure of the refrigeration building up inside the compressor and condenser, and possibly the evaporator. Probably a result of moisture inside the refrigerant forming ice or a something else clogging the line. Though it doesn't involve explosives, they seem to make one hell of an explosion, taking out the whole fridge and even walls within a home.
It's fridges that use propane or isobutane as the refrigerant. Compressor windings get deteriorated, a spark happens , and then it ignites the refrigerant which is under pressure. BOOM!
Crazy how there's not a single exit hole in the fridge from the shrapnel. No evidence of shrapnel from the inside either. That must have been one of those "shrapnelless" grenades, kinda like seedless watermelon. Yeah, that must be it....
