    My daughter applied for cabin crew at Emirates and she was invited for the assessment last week. Today she went for the interview and she failed to read the announcement because of her eye sight, she couldn't see properly. when she got home, she was so depressed right now. she really wanted this cabin crew job so bad but hey I told her you can't all win.

      she should have worn glasses contacts. She needs to be able to read it's a safety thing. She can apply again in 6 months 1 year depending which stage she made it to.

      I hope she succeeded. If she has ironed and succeeded, so much the better for her, perceverence pays off sooner or later, but if she did not succeed with them she has not lost much because it is a company that uses discrimination in addition to life there is a real golden prison..Moreover , you have a contract for 3 years or 5 years i don't remember, sometimes renewable, and at one point you don't have to throw yourself away after having taken advantage of your service because you will cost too much if you stay too long ... Little chance of having a permanent contract. In general permanent contract are reserved for locals it seems to me... no job security at emirates ...

    The flight attendants in my country are all older than the petroleum used for the plastic trays. If the plane was going down, they'd be the first ones in the liqueur cabinet.

    • @genten777
      @genten777 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is very true! ( this message is for 5hak3itup) remember many flight attendants are already fairly lit up before they even board the plane for flying! It is a very lonely life and most are hooked on some thing!!!

      Customer Service Experience, Learn a new language (Must be fluent), Even something like working as waiter counts towards you getting this job so try go for that if your out of options.

    • @gdobssorr7942
      @gdobssorr7942 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Customer Service Experience can include anything from being a nanny to working as a barista or waiter. If you can get something like work as a cabin crew member on your local ferry or behind the desk at the local travel office, even better! Learn a new language, and choose carefully - research as to which language will be most useful to learn. There are airlines out there that will take you without your being fluent, but bear in mind that if a hiring manager has to pick between you and someone who is fluent and there's only one position going, then you could end up missing out. Make friends with someone who already works with a well-known airline, and have them thoroughly check your CV and cover letter - also have them refer you for roles to better your chances of getting interviews.

    • @gdobssorr7942
      @gdobssorr7942 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ask them and their friends who work for the same airline what it's actually like being a flight attendant - you may think it's a cool job to have, but do you still want the job once you realise that there are thousands of others applying for the same positions? And that once you get in, you'll have to do shift work on a 24/7 roster basis - and because you'll be new to the airline, you won't get much of a say over your hours, so even if you ask in advance, you will have no guarantee of getting things like Christmas Day, your favourite cousin's wedding, your mother's 50th etc off, as you will be made to work according to the set roster? Yes, you'll have annual leave, but ultimately the airline will have the last say over when you can take it.
      If you still want the job once you've taken all this in, then go for it and chase it. Go to a low-budget clothes store and pick out a smart business suit in neutral colours which you can wear to interviews, and some nice, natural looking makeup - and a bun ring. ALWAYS show up on time to interviews and assessment days, mingle with others there, smile and know the basics of the company - and participate in the tasks they set you. Don't answer "Because I want to travel/meet people" if you're asked why you want to be a flight attendant, and think of some relevant questions about the airline's fleet, the lifestyle, expansion plans etc you could ask the interviewers. Last thing? If they say no, remember that the interviewers themselves probably got turned down multiple times and possibly even fired before they got lucky. Keep trying and aim high.

    There are some amazing people on Emirates but there was these two on one of the flights - a Polish emirates woman with dark hair, kind of short and a Med-looking attendant who were VERY rude to me. There were many drunk people in the back of Economy - My sister and I were in Economy and my Parents in Business class. I had to use the restroom, didn't want to wait in line with the loud drunks in my class so went to Business class where my parents were to use the restroom there. The Polish Emirates attendant was pounding on my door and told me I must not use the business, I am economy and I must go to my own class. I told her but my parents are there, and that I am desperate. Hardly anyone was in Business class and NO ONE was using the business restroom. She then escorted me back to economy and got the Med-looking attendant to tell me off in front of the entire economy class. This was very hurtful and made me feel a distrust of some people they select to work. I wish I knew to take her name and put a complaint against her, and him. But it was too late when I was advised this. I remember their faces and if I ever see them again on the next flights I take, I'll be making them work for me until they're exhausted!

    i had bad experience with Emirates when flying from Dubai to Indonesia with my two toddlers, age 2 and 4. We all got separate seats and when i complained they only said " No empty seats available". I asked the woman, how should the toddlers take care of themselves and she just said "Sorry".
    Later i complained again to the cabin crew then i got seat next to my children.
    other time the stewardes kept bumping her cart to my seat, even hit my arm and there was no apology from her. It happened several times during the food service
    I wrote to Emirates about these events and i got no response at all.

    • @jonathandpg6115
      @jonathandpg6115 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes. If you don't know the basic law of aviation is that you can only fly to another country if you start or end in your country (there are a few more laws that are more specific) so they'd have to return to the UAE every time. The only way they can successfully transfer you to another plain is by making you stay in dubai. However emirates does provide you accommodation as a benefit.

    EK have a HUGE turnaround for staff - mainly due to back to back shifts, making for tired crews etc. They only hire youngsters with good looks first. They maybe be an arab airline with a shtload of money to operate but not the best.

    to be an air hostess the most important quality is looks and physique many are born with it of course other aspects like language skills are also important BUT specific knowledge or a perfect SAT score is much harder to acquire.
    it's statistically harder to be the tallest man in the world.

    Such a shame then that some of their 'unique' cabin crew are actually dreadful at their job. Most recent experience was yesterday, so I suggest they change their recruitment process. Dreadful uniforms too..

      Yes, I think that the " nice gold" face...is not a value for this typ of job...If they do a recruitments for this job like a "model casting" then I think that Its wrong method!
