One of rock's best vocalists and screamers....the scream at the beginning in just amazing.

I love his scream I like Vince Neil’s scream to

Incredibly raw and heavy. Excellent band and one of the best metal videos, with Sebastian Bach absolutely killing it. Very underrated.
Yep better than mettalica
Slave to the Grind, Use your illusion I & II and Black Album. What a year the 1991 !!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
You aren't lying. I graduated that year. Awesome year for hard rock. Psychotic Supper too!
@@johndaniels7609 If you graduated in '91, it means you were born in '73, so three years younger than me.

Best year ever
I came home from Desert Storm on July 1, 1991. A few days later I was in the barracks, by myself, smoking a joint when this song debuted on the radio. I was blown away, I knew right then this song would stand the test of time. 29 years later, we're still here.
Thanks for your service!!! I never served but had shots with Sebastian Bach at the Ukitan liquor stand in Tampa Florida. Cool guy and very tall.
Don't the US Military test you?
My uncle served there with the British Army, Tanks, 14th/20th Kings Hussars as they were known then
Wow, eleven months before the albums official release date 'June 11th 1991' that's interesting. Must have been some killer weed dude!

Out of the many vocalists from the period, I cannot for the life of me understand why Bach never had a better solo career or follow up band. He still has great vocals.

Skid Row’s best album by far.
Seb was Skid Row. WHAT A FRONTMAN!! So blessed to have seen him / them live. What I’d give to go back to then
Lynn City Hall this month
No he wasn't. He was their frontman. Did he write any of their songs... ? he may have had a hand in a few, but skid row is as a result of a group coming together and making a sound that kicked ass. it wasn't just him.
Sebastian is SKID ROW
Bas is the perfect hair metal front man. We need a Skid Row Reunion. It's been over 30 years!
Too much egos on those guys! Sad!!
See Millennials this is what music is
Haha! Yeah!
Slave To The Grind was a FANTASTIC follow-up to their awesome first album. The orginal Skid Row rule.🤘
The original Skid Row were Irish, featuring Phil Lynott & Gary Moore, in the late '60s.
No one can every take away the fact that is was the first album considered "metal" to debut at #1.
Slave To the Grind still one of my favorite albums ever!!
What a tour this was !
Graeme Knowles what does slave to the grind mean?
One of the greatest rock intros of all time, also got to respect the fact that these guys didn't need Nirvana to kill glam rock, they left it on their own prior to Nevermind and put out Slave to the Grind which was solid hard rock / metal start to finish.
Yep I remember hearing this and thinking holy shit they stepped up their game, sound pretty heavy now as far as rock goes. They were on the fine line between hard rock and metal with this album.
@@gsxerwhite 100%
That's why Skid Row and Guns N' Roses were able to keep getting played on Mtv and the radio during that grunge explosion. They were real, and real shit always comes across with a huge audience. Those 2 bands were 1,000 times better than any of the grunge bands. AIC is the only one that comes close. If it wasn't for Guns N' Roses and Skid Row, Nirvana would have never happened the way it did on Mtv. When 'Welcome to the Jungle' debuted on Mtv, you couldn't get anymore alternative than that shit. Imagine that song/video hitting the television screen in some little town in the midwest at the height of Reagan's America. Lol. Shit, Nirvana took off around the time Clinton was taking office. The country was totally different and more accepting of things like that on radio or Mtv. When Guns N' Roses hit the scene, they scared the f*** out of parents all over the country. Way, way more than Nirvana did when 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' came out. That's why it never made sense to me that Kurt Cobain talked shit about Axl and GNR. They paved the way for that whole genre of music.
@@jkckmarcumful You hit the mark, and I'll tell you something else, Nirvana is not the big change that many said, the example is that bands like Tesla, Cinderella, Winger and even Skid row itself continued to release new albums and new hits on radio stations of rock music in the years 1993, 1994 and 1995, that is, what a fuss they give to this guy and only his popularity increased thanks to his suicide, and his fans are to blame
@@Tommyhedland It just pisses me off when you see comments on TH-cam about Nirvana and how they changed the music scene so much and they call Guns N' Roses cock rock and shit like that. Hell, calling it cock rock is really a damn compliment. That's where true rock n roll, real rock n roll comes from. Lol. Those bands would have never been heard of if it wasn't for GNR, Skid Row and others, too. 'Out Ta Get Me' by GNR is more punk than Nirvana's entire career. Especially the live performance of it at The Ritz '88. Whenever they played live it felt like it was going to break out into a riot without warning. That's why we called them 'the world's most dangerous group'.
This man was so sexy and the whole band kicked ass. His vocals were unreal. I'm 55 yrs old and still jam to Skidrow. 🤘😎🤘

He's not so sexy anymore. Seriously. And when you see how he acts in real life and the way he treats his wife I bet you won't find him so sexy.
Sebastian Bach ain't just another pretty boy. And Skid Row ain't just monkeying around. Early metal at its finest. Still crazy good too.
Not really metal and not really early, but I see where you were going with that. Its heavy af.
@@itsalwayssomething7490 it is metal, glam metal
@@halo091 It's redundant to say metal twice (gay L.A. metal) metal. Glam and early metal are two different things. Skid Row is nothing like Iron Maiden or Diamond Head. But, I don't think of Skid Row as metal or glam. They are more hard rock to me, in the same vein as Guns and Roses. People have different outlooks on it. I wouldn't call Led Zeppelin "metal," but you can certainly take most of their songs and interpret it through a metal lens, because it has a heaviness to it. AC/DC isn't metal, but can be heavy.
I can see why it all falls under "metal" though, because a metal head will listen to all of it, so it all falls under the umbrella of metal.
So, I don't disagree with you, but Skid Row isn't "early metal" and I should have been more specific.
@@halo091 not glam metal either
Who tf cares if it's metal or not?? Enjoy the music

He can still wail.
I forgot how good Skid Row was. I saw them live twice in 1991. Baz is incredible and probably the most gorgeous front man ever. Good times.
Timeless stuff, man. Puts all of today's stuff to shame.
Is this why his bandmates hated him? Because he was a true star and the camera loved him. He was everything a metal rock star should be: crazy tall, pretty face & hair, wild charisma and all with extreme talent to back it up. That man knew how to perform without an ounce of self-consciousness.
E além de tudo era loiro! Esse homem.... 😍😍
According to Bach, he was fired because he wanted the songs that had been written for their next album to be rewritten. He didn't like them, and didn't want to sing them.
There also was tension on the business side as well. Bach thought they were passing up work because of ego, like the famous example of the rest of the band not wanting to open for Kiss on a tour they were doing in the late 90s. He also felt the other guys were getting distracted by side projects.
@@Belleplainer Thanks for that info! Sounds like they bit of their noses to spite their faces. Sebastian was the best thing that ever happened to them and none of their other front men were able to capture his magic. They owe their fame to him.

Skid Row was such a great metal band
No other song from the 80s hard rock era hits this hard. Massive riff, and killer vocals and cowbell 🔥
You Could Be Mine hit pretty hard as far as this type of music goes.. Obviously, Pantera's Vulgar Display came out right after this and completely changed the rules from then on and in my opinion is the hardest record ever recorded, sonically and the follow up Far Beyond is the hardest record EVER sonically, lyrically, visually, just everything about that record is pure steel balls that will beat your ass and fuck your girl just to humiliate you for being a pussy.. But before that shit, I agree that this and that GNR song that I mentioned was the hardest shit on MTV heavy rotation and I actually remember they did a countdown special over the course of like a week of the most badass metal songs of all time and the VJ explained how this video was ineligible due to the fact that it had just dropped that same week and that it would obviously be in the top 5 or 10 easily if it were included.. I agreed in that regard but only because some of the harder shit I listened to back then wasn't really ever played on MTV outside of the Ball on Saturday night \m/(°益°)\m/
You got that right his voice was so intense. I Don't know anyone else that can Belt Out Notes like he Can

Monkey Business lyrics
Outside my window there's a whole lot of trouble comin'
The cartoon killers and the rag cover clones
Stack heels kickin' rhythm of social circumcision
Can't close the closet on a shoe box full of bones
Kangaroo lady with her bourbon in a pouch
Can't afford the rental on a bamboo couch
Collecting back her favors 'cause her well is running dry
I know her act is terminal,
But she ain't gonna die
Slim intoxicado drinkin' dime store hooch
Is always in a circle with his part-time pooch
Little creepy's playing dollies in the New York rain
Thinkin' Bowie's just a knife
Ooh the pain
I ain't seen the sun since I don't know when
The freaks come out at nine and it's twenty to ten
What's this funk
That you call junk
To me it's just monkey business
Blind man in the vox that will probably die
The village kids laugh as they walk by
A psycho is on the edge of this human garbage dump
And the vultures in the sewers are telling him to jump
Into the fire from the frying pan
Tripping on his tongue
For a cool place to stand
Where's this shade
That you've got it made
To me it's just monkey business
Monkey business
Slippin' on the track
Monkey business

Ain't your business if I got
No monkey on my back

Blame the faced up music industry for that. When TH-cam came along, less cd 's were sold. It costs a lot more to produce and record a metal band than it does some rapper with a bunch of electric shit. I think or hope people will get tired of it and something better or different will come along.
