Mark, somehow in 2020 when I started my gardening journey I found your channel. Your tutelage and video content has helped me garden naturally with increased harvest and less pest every year. Thanks for your help.
I'm with you Organic working with nature building soil should be the standard.. Standard gardening practice just harvesting the soil and minerals wearing out of life of the soil. Thanks for heading 6:376:38 to using more cover crop and haven't used poison to kill my bugs for 7 years and having less problems because I'm feeding the soil. Thanks
Oh man, I got some wiggle worm, pure worm castings, and they are really hot. More than what I’m used to. Stunted my baby jade plants a little bit and made the buds fall off of a freshly transplanted holiday cactus.
Hi Mark, I have a thought, decomposing organic matter on the surface lets off co2 wich is more dense than oxygen/nitrogen so it mostly stays directly where its needed back to the plant leaves. Let me know what you think.
I used to till my garden but discovered no dig from Charles Dowding over in The UK and losely follow his methods of adding compost on top of the soil once a year and disturb the soil as little as possible. I do use organic fertilizers for heavy feeders but wonder if it's really necessary listening to you. I don't believe Charles uses any fertilizer either.
The key is not compost but a cover crop when you are not gardening. The soil microbes need to be feed all the time in the soil. Compost on top of the soil does not feed the soil below are build soil.
@@iamorganicgardening I use cover crops also when I can but that becomes trickier as winter can set in fast once I harvest my last crops in the fall. Sometimes I interplant cover crops if I can.

Awesome to hear this. Thank You.
Thanks for the info, our squash gets attacked by vine borers every year even organicly grown every year, we never had them until 4 years ago.
Plant flowers and try to attract the kind of bugs that will fight the insects off.
That is also very helpful. Thank You.
I’m sorry to hear that, I have had a few problems with that too. I just keep planting new seeds direct in the ground every month
@@MrDuffy81 we did, no luck.

Reduce the amount you're using by half, you'll see a big difference!
