Eddie is certainly a killer player as are all of the guys in this clip but the bass player is setting and laying the foundation for Eddie’s solo with the melodic, yet tasteful substitutions that he’s using all around the solo!!!! Amazing skill set by these players.

Sean, how would you define the difference between Gospel and Jazz - musically rather than theologically speaking of course 🤣 ?
Musically they're similar... but Jazz Musicians as a whole tend to be far more theoretical and analytical whereas Gospel Musicians rely more on the feel and rhythm imo.. but as I told someone else, and the end of our studies, we all arrive at the same place eventually... the route is different
For me, Gospel has more complex harmony, whereas Jazz is more focused on improvisation/solos.

Stick with fast food buddy...advanced musicians prefer hearing different perspectives, bouncing ideas off each other, and so on rather than just hearing "here are the notes & fingering to this chord". Anybody can transcribe this for you, go somewhere else OR buy the damn midi file off his website and shut up.
