I use to fish northern pike here in Sweden with lures like this. You get scared as hell when a huge pike jump out of the water and take the lure...But it's fun!

Wish we had pike down here in the southern states......all well I guess ill keep bass fishing, just as much fun if the bite is on. They are just not as aggressive as pike tho.
Joshua Henn You'll have to plan a trip north Joshua to have a go at them, I promise you'll love it. Just take your bass outfit and you'll catch loads. Have a look on my channel for more pike stuff, videos 14 and 24 have some good pike action and aggressive takes.

Wow what a spot to stumble upon
Believe me, the rules are tight in Minnesota (U.S.). My uncle almost got a massive fine because he left his boat's plug in while traveling. They limit the amount you can keep, the size they have to be, you can't keep them as pets, you can't sell the meat, you have to have a permit, you can only use 1 fishing pole at a time, you can't have more than one hook on a line (unless it's part of a lure)..and the list goes on. Keeps the lakes full of fish though :)

You need a soft tip rod when twitching so when the fish hits it take the bait in and you dont rip the hooks out. R-TYPE rods are great for this type of fishing.

Do not let your lure fall completely silent. Pike quickly lose interest. If it is a sinking lure, it often works. If you have a vortex in the water, always quick on the pool shed. That made me have often been successful! The left did goed.Snoeken fishing are not difficult to catch. They take almost anything that moves. Too bad I have discarded fishing gear.. I get pretty excited again by watching this video! :)

What size line was used for the leader? I just moved to Alaska from the lower 48 and found a lake up here with some ginormous pike....
Med/Hev R-TYPE Rapala rod with and R-TYPE baitcasting reel with 30lb suffix braid
Nice pike only place in Iowa u can find northerns is in lake red rock and they are big as hell
