Man, I can not thank you enough for this video. It's like no one actually wants anyone to be part of this community. You've made it so much more clear.

Since I’ve gotten my Baofeng I must’ve watched 10 or more videos on the subject, but so far no one has layed it out like this. Thank you for speaking plain English and having a sense of humor about it. Some of these guys act like they’re bringing you into a secret brotherhood, I keep waiting for the blood oath, ha ha! 😂 I’d love to know more about the Cola group, sounds interesting, consider me subscribed. 🇺🇸🙏💪🤙

I've watched dozens of videos trying to learn something to see if I want to get into HAM. Your video gave me more information than all of the other ones I've watched. All of the other videos I've watched used terms that someone not in ham (me) would have no idea what they are talking about. Fantastic work man.

I've watched several videos on this topic and yours is by far the best! You're easy to understand, get right to the point and nothing you say is confusing. Gotten many 'ahah' moments when you were explaining the buttons. Going to share this with my neighbor who is also interested. I have several radios, got my license for GMRS, it's a beginning, have had it since August of '18 but haven't transmitted yet. Very experienced in CB, just got a CB that transmits in FM, by Wouxum, supports USB-C battery charging and has an SMA antenna. Will be watching this again to be sure that I didn't miss anything, definitely subscribed and look forward to watching more of your videos! Thank you so much!

Hey man thanks very much for taking the time to make this video which is exactly what I was hoping to find.
I am brand new to Baofeng after mostly stumbling across the subject while surfing around online seeing what the latest was in CB radios as I was was into those for many years as a kid.
I'm intrigued by this whole Baofeng journey especially now that I can see how it figures logically into prep/survival which I'm a definite fan of.
So I picked up the model GT-5R and thanks to your video here I was able to learn quite a lot about operating it as you were teaching and demonstrating on the UV5.
Next I will move on to the rest of the videos in this series where it looks like you have five total and I will be sure to watch them all.
So thankful and appreciative time and time again for all the educators like yourself that we have on TH-cam to help those of us who want to learn about something we were not previously familiar with.
TH-cam is just pure gold for real!
Peace & Blessings good sir 🇺🇲

The Baofeng uv5r radios punch well above their cost. Swap out the antenna first of all. Get an adapter (SMC to BNC) that allows it to a accept a BNC antenna. A slim Jim type antenna is a good option for these. It applies to all HT units. Baofeng radios are inexpensive and work well.
