"X, Rail Rattler has taken the city's subway system hostage and turned it into a high-speed destruction derby. Fight your way through his personal train and bring him to the end of the line!"
Still trying to wrap my head around this finally being found after all these years! If you'd told me this a couple weeks ago I'd have thought you were crazy and said the song was fated never to be found!
Amazing work/cover! I love your version ❤️ and I love how a search for a song united people from all over the world. I hope the band can make some money with their creation - they really deserve it.
2024 gave us the good ending for Lostwave, and this is its theme song for the Staff Roll. Conglaturation !! Thank you for finding a great song. Now go rest our heroes.
was listening to a live performance of this, and at the end was like "....this has a SURPRISING resemblance to MMX" and sure enough; this video was suggested below. Blew it out of the water. I LOVE IT!
It's cool to see you have a take on this one - while it makes sense to see so many people cover the long lost but finally found song, didn't expect that you would make a cover of it. The higher pitch from the new version not only fits as a sendoff to that mystery, the people that made it and even returned to play it again (cool of you to use the new live vid as the background) but also could very well fit as a MMX credits/ending theme. ...man, now I think that it could be cool to blast this at full volume the one day in the future MMX Corrupted finally releases - but until then... Thanks for making this awesome remix 🎉
We've actually got four songs of theirs now; they released a song called Jenny that was already out there, it's just that nobody knew it was the band behind TMMS.
This will always be "like the wind" to me. Not stubbornly so just... those years wonder what it was, who made it, where it came from... its nice we do get closure on the song. Bravo on getting a cover of it done so quickly too! Absolutely lovely cover of it :D
This song fucking slaps man! It really, REALLY feels like something you yourself could have composed. I hadn't know about this song for so long but now I'm mad I haven't heard of it sooner, this is so good. (I'm a little tempted to do a lyrical cover of this, ngl)
Now I'm thinking of the Chirpy Chips (from Splatoon) doing this song... but in the headcanon, if this song was never released on vinyl, then DJ Paul couldn't have a copy... could he?
This fits unusually well - almost uncannily so; if you'd labeled it as a remix of a MMX fangame intro theme, I doubt I'd have batted an eyelid. Most likely that just comes down to '80s music being a huge influence for Megaman music in general (I mean, the original MM1's code name was apparently "Rock & Roll", which pretty much speaks for itself). In any case, it's always great to see another so-familiar-yet-stubbornly-unidentifiable song pinned down. Maybe one of these days someone will _FINALLY_ find the source of that infamous "Zelda's Adventure overworld" theme that's been circulating for over 20 years labeled as a supposed track from one of the CDi Zelda games -- completely wrongly (it isn't in any of those games, and Zelda's Adventure actually HAS no overworld music), but so pervasively that it was actually remixed in one of the AVGN games (seemingly as a shout-out to those games). Honestly though, I'm not holding out much hope. The song here took over 15 years to be identified. The same is true for S3&K's infamous Icecap zone (which was only identified in mid-2009). And both of those had the advantage of having lyrics & being actual commercially released songs - neither of which is the case for that pseudo-CDi track (which I suspect may be an obscure demoscene song) - as well as existing in more forms than a single midi uploaded anonymously some ~25y ago.
@@MyNewSoundtrack The song itself doesn't show up in an AVGN episode (as I said, it's not actually in any of the CDi Zelda games), but there's a _VERY_ obvious remix of it in AVGN Adventures 2's "Nerd Room" theme, and that's almost certainly a shout-out to the 3 AVGN episodes covering the CDi Zeldas. The original midi dates from the very late '90s or early '00s, and was just assumed to be genuine by the sites it was uploaded to, including VGMusic (most likely because nobody actually owned a CDi to verify the claim); you can actually still find it on VGMusic (the first "overworld theme" listed under "Zelda's Adventure" in the Philips CDi section) - it seems it was popular enough for them not to remove it despite it being 100% mislabeled... XD Taking that midi and comparing it side-by-side with the AVGN 2 track, the similarities are... well, *striking,* and that's putting it mildly. Most likely, the composer for AVGN 2 just looked up & remixed a song from the CDi Zelda games without verifying it was actually _in the game._ But as for the where it's actually from? I have no clue, and it seems like no one else does either. I do think it's pretty safe to assume that it's not an original composition; I can't imagine anyone making that effort just for the sake of a bogus vgmusic submission (which had no guarantee of even getting through the approval stage - they could've just as easily rejected it due to it being unverifiable) Stylistically, the song feels rather C64/demoscene-ish, but I've never heard anything that actually matches (although that's likely not saying much, considering the sheer number of demoscene tracks out there...)
I hope this song somehow ends up in an OoT randomizer at AGDQ. Could this be made into a MIDI and then be converted with SEQ64? Really terrific interpretation!
what the hell just when i listened to the other found version and thought "huh that outro sounds like something mynewsountrack would do for a rockman x piece"
Especially after awareness of the song surged a bit again with MyHouse.WAD and PowerPak's awesome video on it, it's really amazing that we finally got here and found it!!!

Sick remix as always, Luis! You're now the first person to remix this formerly mysterious song. The faster tempo was a good choice, too 👌🏾.
