Every (in my opinion) big lost media got found: EKT, the backrooms, celebrity number six, and now the holy grail, the most mysterious song on the internet
I find it funny how the main reason we never find these old songs is because the bands are totally unaware of their internet cults. I believe in the future the amount of major lost songs will shrink because we're also slowly becoming more online.
That is true, but I think sadly we’ll always find new ways to lose track of media. Not every website lasts forever, you can post a song to a site and have it disappear without even noticing. Lost songs will be rarer, but as a result they’ll be a lot harder to find

It’s so weird that songs and TV shows can just disappear. Someone wrote this, someone made this. the person who made that song is probably still out there, and no one knows.
Honestly, you’d be surprised how many bands just sorta get together, record a few songs, and then breakup. Lostwave has always been a surprising thing to me as someone who’s been in the local music scene, because the sheer volume of insignificant forgotten music is much larger than you’d expect. Nowadays things don’t typically get lost with the internet being the primary place to host music, but back in the day people would print to CD or tape and things were very easily forgotten.

Maybe I should go on a hunt on these sites for a track they used to play on our local small-town indie high school station in the late 1990s. It was punk, the chorus went, “Yoda was a Jedi master! He was strong in the ways of the Force!” and the verses were all about various situations Yoda got into. The best part is about Yoda smacking R2D2 with a stick, and the singer starts screaming, “You DON’T dis R2, man! You just don’t dis R2!” I was able to track down the artist at one point, and got a copy of a *folk* version of the song, which totally misses the point. Yo, just from a story telling / editing perspective, this video rules, and I’m so happy you have an entire backlog of awesome content that feels right up my alley 💪
I am so happy that the band was finally found and it sounds like the singer really is that deep baritone and it's not an artifact of the recording being slowed down
Whats curious to me is why statues in motion, the band many (including me) thought who are the artists behind this song, uploaded it to their applemusic and spotify. Just to promote a dead band project? Thats pretty suspect to me.
I woke up this morning and opened youtube cuz that’s what I always do in the morning. The first thing that popped up in my recommended was a video with the full version of this song. I haven’t been into lost songs for a very long time yet, but I knew this was by far the biggest lost song that was still unsolved up to this day. I almost fell out of bed when I clicked the video and realized that the song had finally been found. I still can’t believe it. I’m so happy
When "everyone knows that" was found earlier this year, I knew I had high hopes for "like the wind" would be found after other lost medias were found and identified. This is huge!
this was my very first introduction to lost media back in 2020. ever since then, i've gotten interested in lost media content, but i would always wonder when this song would be found. i had always eagerly waited for this song to be found because i watched almost every video from justin wang about its leads until i would stop watching this content for a bit as it felt like it was going nowhere so far. but now, i can rest peacefully knowing it is now found. 2024 really is the year of lost media

Came apon this extremely randomly actually! Not knowing your channel, but also not knowing about "the most mysterious song on the internet", I can say great video! (This kinda sounds like an AI comment, but I'm just high and wanted to show my appreciation)

Thank you so much for making this video, Like The Wind has always been such a cool song to me and knowing now that it got found is insane to me. I'm so proud of this damn community!
The band uploaded an acoustical version of the song from the present and an audio recording of a live 1985 performance on TH-cam a few hours ago. It's like f'n Christmas today!!
I know how these people must feel haha. When I was a child in the 90's, my parents had a tape full of electronic music, house and rave and stuff like that, and there was a short snippet of one particular song which would haunt me for years. I often tried to find out what the song was, but finally in 2021 I did it by grinding myself through several youtube playlists of 90's rave music and finally found out, that it was "God of Abraham" by M.N.O. It was the best feeling ever, like suddenly hitting the jackpot and becoming a millionaire.
I saw this video out of the corner of my eye in my recommended feed and actually screamed out loud. This has been my favorite piece of lost media for years. I was so thrilled about Ulterior Motives, but also a little melancholy because with all the finds we've had recently, it was never Like The Wind. I'm close to tears, this is truly momentous and a testament to how we should never give up on these searches. I can't believe it.

i'm reeling. it's midnight now, and i went from tired from absolutely wide awake. i've said it elsewhere but this mystery wouldn't have been so consuming if the song sucked, but it's legitimately a banger. the demo tape version that was uploaded is really good too. and nearly a full minute and change longer! what a wild ride it's been.
Yo, just from a story telling / editing perspective, this video rules, and I’m so happy you have an entire backlog of awesome content that feels right up my alley 💪
Congrats on making the first docu-vid, and it's actually well done!
8:25 JUST LIKE ULTERIOR MOTIVES?! WHAAAAAATTT
This song has literally been searched for 40 years, that just so insane.
as a german, i'm glad that germany also has a small part in lost media history.
Wouldn't even say it's a small part, it's like THE poster child of lost media.
It's been bouncing around in my head for years since I first heard it. Thanks for the great video!
The amount of lost media that was found in this year is crazy
I woke up this morning and opened youtube cuz that’s what I always do in the morning. The first thing that popped up in my recommended was a video with the full version of this song. I haven’t been into lost songs for a very long time yet, but I knew this was by far the biggest lost song that was still unsolved up to this day. I almost fell out of bed when I clicked the video and realized that the song had finally been found. I still can’t believe it. I’m so happy
When "everyone knows that" was found earlier this year, I knew I had high hopes for "like the wind" would be found after other lost medias were found and identified. This is huge!
We found “The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet” before GTA6
Simple and Quick to the point. I love these types of videos
this was my very first introduction to lost media back in 2020. ever since then, i've gotten interested in lost media content, but i would always wonder when this song would be found. i had always eagerly waited for this song to be found because i watched almost every video from justin wang about its leads until i would stop watching this content for a bit as it felt like it was going nowhere so far. but now, i can rest peacefully knowing it is now found. 2024 really is the year of lost media
I’m thankful for two things:
1. This song was finally found
2. It wasn’t from a… y’know…
The person recording this probably were eating a bag of chips at that time...
"WHY DO I HEAR THEM GETTING FREAKY" -someone on the reddit post about ekt being found
I lived 17 years without the knowledge of the existence of a mysterious song on the internet up until this recommended video appeared, but 2024 was a great year because I have found the three songs I've been looking for on the web since like 16 years or so
Man Germany keeping a record of EVERYTHING is genuinely so neat lol, rare W for my country 😂😭
Came apon this extremely randomly actually! Not knowing your channel, but also not knowing about "the most mysterious song on the internet", I can say great video! (This kinda sounds like an AI comment, but I'm just high and wanted to show my appreciation)
i cannot believe this! I thought this one would never be found!
Amazing effort to finally find the song! Can't believe it's no longer the most mysterious song.
I saw the title and thought "Nah, it's probably referring to some other lost media song they're talking about, not the one I'm thinking of" but NO IT'S THE SAME SONG FUCKING FINALLY
I don’t know quite why the algorithm presented me with your video, but I’m glad it did. Thanks for a fun dive into internet history!
"This is going down in history"
Best comeback 2024! The unplugged version is so smooth and pleasent. Absolutely love it.
Let's fucking go. First Ulterior Motives, now Subways of Your Mind!
Imagine how Marijn felt the second he played Subways of your Mind, thinking it would be some ordinary old song and heard that guitar...
The band even aaid they plan a reunion to rerecord subways of your mind
Thank you so much for making this video, Like The Wind has always been such a cool song to me and knowing now that it got found is insane to me. I'm so proud of this damn community!
I thought Whang would be the first to announce this.
I was hoping he would, but to be fair, he was kinda late to reporting that celebrity number six was found
i hoped it too, he made this famous
@chegu613 absolutely!
I felt this way when I found Mystic Tryst, the fairy bells sounding music that I first heard in a commercial 14 years ago
So glad it's been found! Excited to hear the full version.
Greetings from the UK. It would be awesome if we can get the new version into the charts.
I can’t believe it. I’ve been waiting for so long for Like The Wind to be found. Ulterior Motives being found earlier this year as well feels unreal.
What an amazing year for lost music.
Since playing MyHouse I have wanted nothing more than to find this songs original artist. It just tied together the forest sections vibe so perfectly.
This is crazy, I was listening to the song just a few minutes ago and wanted to find the other mysterious one (the corn one) so I searched "the most mysterious song" and all videos are just hours old
finding like the wind feels like completing the storyline of a video game. it is not 100% complete yet (because there are still unidentified songs), but the final boss (like the wind) is defeated
like clockwork 😭
NO WAY! Finally. I got interested in lost media mid-2022 and I never thought that this would be ever found
Now the akiba tape needs to be found
whats the akiba tape
I SCREAMED WHEN I SAW THIS THIS MYSTERY HAS BEEN GOINGN ON SINCE BEFORE I WAS BORN!! Since I was little I’ve been hearing about this, since I was five and had TH-cam on the tv, this is the best year of my life I think. To be in middle school is amazing, I will love these years of my life forever and ever oh my god I’m telling my whole school
2024 seriously has just been THE year for finding lost media, absolutely amazing!
What an amazing journey it has been. Love that the Band is actually from Kiel, since that's only about an hour away from where I live. Would love for them to do a live show at some point since I could actually go.
EKT AND NOW TTMS oh this is the great year to be alive
this year is THE BEST year for lost media! so much has been found in just one year (ulterior motives, backrooms original photos). it is genuinely amazing to see the biggest lost media search finally come to an end. this marks an end of and era, excited what big is coming next! love y'all
NO WAY! I got recommended the song then I decided to search "the most mysterious song on the internet" to see if there was any news on it... AND WE FOUND IT!?!?!
I'm so genuinely happy. I couldn't believe it when I first read about the song being found, it has been so many years! I hope we'll be able to learn more about the band :)
I can’t wait to watch this later
So cool this and others have been found. One mystery that for some reason didn't pick up a lot of traction is the one from the mysterious poster in RE3. Justin Whang did a video on it about 5 years ago, and it's pretty interesting to me at least.
Wait it actually happened? WHAT???
Ulterior Motives getting re-recorded was wild enough, but TMMSITW, now Subways of Your Mind, getting the same treatment is insane. Can't wait!
