the guitarists are ray toro and frank iero, they both do great work here :D mikey way, gerard brother is the bassist and gerard is the lead. im pretty sure they had a lot of issues finding a good drummer who wasnt kinda scummy so im not 100% sure who did the drums for this but i think its the same guy whos on the black parade
The drummer in the videos for this actually isn't on the record. They fired the drummer and hired the live sound guy right before filming. He is on Black Parade though.
some live commentary as i watch: -all of the band members are credited under songwriting, though i understand the initial concern over what would happen. they also all had solo careers, though gerard’s and frank’s are best remembered -mcr were actually a very explicitly anti self h*rm (worried about youtube deletion) band. they wanted to inspire hope and motivation in kids, so they wouldn’t turn to stuff like that. the same can’t always be said for other bands in the scene though, which is why they rejected the emo label for so long -yes, ray toro is an amazing guitarist, we love ray toro. you also seem to throughout the record think the fans give little attention to the other band members with i can strongly assure you is incorrect, even if gerard way is beloved. -you know i was going to say i don’t understand your association with christmas, but i get it. only for cemetery drive though -not su*cide throughout the record, but just death. cemetery drive is about it though, one of gerard’s friends committed and he wrote it about her. the rest of the death theme is due to the passing of his grandmother and the original story of the album, where two lovers are shot in a gunfigth, the man dies and goes to hell but discovers his lover is still alive, the devil tells him he can see her again if he brings him the souls of a thousand evil men, and he agrees. the trick is that he’s the thousandth soul, and he’s never able to reunite with her. that’s what ‘i never told you what i do for a living’ is about. that’s all! i know it’s been a couple months but still.
Ghost of You will always be the song that stayed with me.
Good choice
