Absolutely love what you're doing mate! From the knowledge you're sharing, the smooth editing, the sort of reptiles you keep, the enclosure builds, to your chill voice. PS, your wood roach video helped me a great deal! Thanks
Awesome collection and set ups mate. Completely agree about keeping a spare enclosure - my male lace monitor bit the female during mating and she needed a vet visit, I was told to keep her in a clean environment whilst healing and since they lived outside, I had her living in my bedroom free roaming and she’d put herself to sleep in the spare enclosure every night.
Love the setups. I assume the branches in the large enclosures are field collected. How do you treat them for mites/pests? I’m looking to do the same… pet stores charging $50+ for a tree branch is bogus.
Thanks! I don’t always treat the branches I bring in from the field for parasites specifically, I haven’t had any issues with parasites so far. But if I’m trying to be safe, I fumigate the entire enclosure with the branches in there with an aerosol mite spray, before putting the reptile in. The thing that concerns me more when using collected branches is bringing in pests like termites, ants and spiders. Which is usually only an issue for hollow logs or weathered branches thats been off the tree for long periods of time. I soak these benches in a bathtub with bleach for 2 days, then soak it again with fresh water for another day before sunning it outdoors for a few days. Doing this should also get rid of potential parasites
