What would be the best subwoofers for metal music I listen to metal and rap I know there is no one subwoofer for this and I've researched a lot and there is arguments for big or small with what you said I can get a lot more 6.5 or 8s compared to 1 15" but I do have the room it's in a suv but I want sound quality not spl so should I worry about my midbass drivers and have a couple smaller subwoofers to fill the gap?
It depends on how you like your music. The larger subs can easily overpower the full range and with metal that's usually not what people want so you want something appropriately sized for the level of full range you have. If you have 100 watt rms full range speakers in a small truck cab, (1) 10" will get it done. Larger super cab, (2) 10's will get it done even if they are shallow mounts. But if you like bass and even more bass, then move up to 12's. You can run about 400 to 800 rms on any of these sub setups and be plenty loud. You start getting above that 800 range, prices on everything starts to really go up.

Got a question. How bout 2 db drive wdx g1 10 inch vs 2 db speed series 12 in. Which one will bass more. I know the g1 can handle more watts.

Just get something that’s tuned to 33hz
