Paul is referring to traditions that were proper or acceptable aspects of true worship. They certainly weren’t those held by false religion and promoted as if they were as valuable as what’s found in the Scriptures. Rather, Paul was referring to the teachings that he and others had received from Jesus as well as what God moved the apostle to transmit, much of which became part of the inspired Scriptures.
@@sunnyjohnson992 What are you bases for proper and acceptable aspects of true worship? The truth does not come from people, but only given or revealed to people. Are you saying that Jesus' teachings came first before the Scripture? But biblical, the Scripture came first before Jesus. Acts 17:11 [11]The people there were more open-minded than the people in Thessalonica. They LISTENED to the MESSAGE with great eagerness, and EVERY DAY they STUDIED the SCRIPTURES to SEE if WHAT Paul said was REALLY TRUE. Galatians 3:10 [10]Those who depend on obeying the Law live under a curse. For the SCRIPTURE says, “Whoever does NOT ALWAYS OBEY EVERYTHING that is WRITTEN in the BOOK of the LAW is under God's curse!” Galatians 3:12 [12]But the Law has nothing to do with faith. Instead, as the scripture says, “Whoever DOES EVERYTHING the LAW REQUIRES will live.”
This Tradition is too vague to hold onto it and to become a religious belief. Because NOTHING is said here about what kind of tradition is this about. There are many traditions being practice up to this date. And to mention some: there are family tradition, marriages tradition, inheritance tradition, etc. In other words, this verse doesn't mentioned any particular tradition whether it's none religious tradition or whatsoever. But the Word of God, the Holy Bible, or Scripture is so clear, explicitly and implicitly pinpointed the kind of tradition connected with religious beliefs. Pls read below: Isaiah 29:13 [13]The Lord said, “These people CLAIM to WORSHIP me, BUT their WORDS are MEANINGLESS, and their HEARTS are SOMEWHERE else. Their RELIGION is NOTHING but HUMAN rules and TRADITIONS, which they have simply MEMORIZED. MARRIAGE traditions 1 Chronicles 4:22 [22]Jokim and the people who lived in the town of Cozeba; and Joash and Saraph, who MARRIED Moabite women and then SETTLED in Bethlehem. (These traditions are very old.) SHARES/INHERITANCE tradition Nehemiah 2:20 [20]I answered, “The God of Heaven will give us success. We are his servants, and we are going to start building. But you have NO Right to any PROPERTY in Jerusalem, and you have no SHARE in its traditions.”

They are good or neutral until they contradict Scripture, in which case, they become bad.
