- This is the second video of a series on the 1/1200 Langton Miniatures range of Naval Napoleonic ships from the age of sail.
We are starting an Age of Sail project and will collect and paint and play wargames with 1/1200 Langton miniatures ships, up to and including Trafalgar.
Wargames Guru Is a site dedicated to all things Table top wargaming.
We will be posting Battle Reports for, American Civil War, ACW in 28mm, War of the Roses, never mind the billhooks, WW2, Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle, LOTR SBG, Dragon Rampant, Gunfighters Ball, Wild West, and other wargames.
We will also be posting reviews of wargaming shows such as Salute and Partizan, plus interviewing traders.

I know I'm late, but just stumbled across your videos. Don't let the errors get you down. I've been building Langton ships for 20 + years, and I still make mistakes! Also, make notes inside your painting/rigging book. I had a good chuckle when I saw how clean and new yours was. That's the best piece of hobby money I ever spent.

A really great revue, your enthusiasm is infectious. Your ship looks superb and ready for action. My ships ships have not had a battle for some time, I must rectify this situation asap ;)

I've been looking for an Age of Sail game and I would absolutely love to give this a try, unfortunately convincing others to in my group to make the investment might be somewhat difficult. I've been looking at the various options out there and part of me was considering Black Powder simply due to its accessibility although I suspect the best option will be a self contained board game.

Well you only need a couple of ships. Soon as the club opens up we will show some small scale battles which are great fun.

Excellent looking ship. The red you used is spot on. The Base also looks great. Would you mind commenting on how you made it and what paints/materials you used?
Thanks Craig. I will upload a video in the next few weeks with a step by step build and paint. But the red was GW Mephiston red but you could you normal red with a touch of black added.
The sea base was from Langtons. It was painted in Vallejo coulours. First was Prussian blue 050, then heavy drybrushed with Dark sea blue 048 then light dry brush with light sea grey 108 and finally adding a little white to the 108 for wave crests etc. Sea varnish in Humbrol satin.

Hi, there are some but tbh langtons fast play rule ste are pretty quick once you get the hang of them and not to complicated imo.
Lovely. Am just changing to brass sails, also. What do you use for the yards? The sprues with them seem rather weedy, at least on frigates.
I used the ones in the pack. They worked fine. labour of love though lol. hoping to get more vids of some games once this virus has buggerd off.
Superb, I've done the same thing with renaissance galleys/ships, and I know it's very dificult at this scale...and I see you've built something much better than me! Excellent, most impressive details!
