Thank you brother. Just found one someone was throwing away. Cleaned the carb, sharpened the blade and changed the oil. Its old but man is it satisfying to use an old 90s mower.
I've owned a14SBs, two JX75s, and now a Commercial JX85. These are some of the best walk behinds ever made. With proper maintenance two-three decades lifespan is not unusual.
Great video...just noticed you were pushing the clutch engagement lever first then pressing down on the bail handle...if you press the handle down first THEN the lever i think you will find smoother engagement...cheers!
I have a Gravely mower like this. I think Eastman made these, Sp21k model. Bobcat also had a commercial 21 inch just a couple years ago with Kawasaki fj180v. Might help you find parts if needed
This was a very interesting post. I hope you can answer a question about what's happening with mine. It worked fine the last time I used it about a month ago. Now, It starts and runs fine, but when I try to engage the blade, the cable pulls fine, but it bogs down and smells like the belt is burning. Like the blade doesn't want to turn. I flipped it over and kicked the blade with my foot. It's stiff, but it does turn. Is there a grease fitting that I don't know about? Thanks
I am the proud owner of that mower. I love mine, except now when I engage the clutch it engine won’t generate enough power to run. I’m sure it is tune up time with a plug. Already replaced the air cleaner… thanks James!
@@jameski5oeb668 I found out that my throttle linkage is out of adjustment. Manually pushing the throttle open all the way allowed it to engage the clutch without sputtering out.
What kind of gas should I use on my ridding mower and my weed trimmer is a gasoline and a can OK from Walmart or should I stay away from the can gas Simplicity, give me a little tough starting up at my take 10 seconds to get started

Congratulations! You've got yourself one heck of a mower! Can last a lifetime if looked after. Enjoy!

Now that you showed us how well built those John Deer push mowers are, it’s a shame they don’t support them. Nice video Mark!
Thanks 👍
we will still come across these oldies but a goodies. Great video brother. Well explained to the point.
Thanks 👍
Just got one for free today. Will start going through it tomorrow.

Any video you make on this mower I will watch!!
Thanks for sharing
Did you find out the issue on your mower? I have the same problem on my new-to-me 14sb.
@@Firstnameidk I have not gotten a chance to find the root cause.

Im looking at a jX75 that I believe uses the same clutch.
Those were great mowers
yes
Great video Mark ,Thanks again
Glad you enjoyed it
Where can I get the cable that engages the clutch? I've looked online but I keep pulling up the wrong cable. Thank you! Great video.
No idea
you need to make your own cable

we use premium 91-93 octane
Well now I know how to take a piece of stick out of a blade clutch. Wow
Good video thanks👍
i bought one for 40 dollars with mulching plug and bag, looks very good but whenever i engage the blades it would just die, 50 % of time
