  • A product born out of necessity!
    On our journey of eliminating waste and encouraging employee genius this is what can happen!
    We needed a automated welding solution, but faced high price quotes and long lead times so we designed our own!
    Designed a built for our own needs, which now has become a product.
    All made possible by our Lean Thinking! Thank you Paul Akers, 2 second Lean 😊😎

    As a welder I could double your output....as a human I would quit the next day because I'd be bored. Pretty cool setup.

      I really hope that the free'd time is used for those who want to learn welding (to become experts), that they can use parts of the time freed up to learn. Otherwise you will get less and less people actually able to do the craft, for when you need their experience and knowledge

      Or the worker can now be more useful with more complex tasks or using their brain to solve other problems rather than performing dull tasks all day.

    Sweet rig and always cool to see how you’re optimizing. It definitely seems like a no brainer.
    What I’ll quickly note however, it’s not the quality of the workforce that is dropping, it’s the lack of willingness for businesses to train their employees anymore. Every business wants their employees magically know how to complete every task before they even start. Go look at job ads from our parents days and the amount of ads for technical jobs that said “willing to train, no experience required” might surprise you. That was back in the day when the west still had a strong manufacturing base. I will admit that it seems like there are a lot of people who very difficult to train nowadays and the economics of globalized manufacturing do change the level of efficiency required to remain competitive.

    The successful implementation of robots sure is captivating and beautiful to watch for many reasons, I understand, I also know how the world ends, so I'm not worried, BUT for this, man would quickly have no use, then, nor the robots any use for us as it is very obvious this would be the course - I hope it doesn't require explanation.

    Amazing but this sort of thing is taking human jobs, so what happens when all or most manual labour has been replaced with robots? It started with the car industry, that once employed hundreds of thousands, now it's thousands and reducing all the time. So people who are only capable of low skilled jobs can now only find work in call centres, shortly to be replaced with AI, fast food joints, which also go robot, Amazon, same, etc, etc. So very soon, the vast majority of jobs will done by AI and robots and most people won't be able to find work. This means they have no money to spend and buy stuff, so manufacturers won't have any customers. The end.

    • @JackBusseyUK
      @JackBusseyUK  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks 🙏😎 same thing was said when people started to use horse and cart, it's always going to happen, but humans will find a way to make it possible.

      The solution is to have a universal basic wage that will allow people to enjoy life and do what they want to do, and if they want to earn more money, they can get their education to earn more money with higher paid jobs without having to work a mediocre boring job. Automation is the future and it is beneficial for everyone.

      Where does the funding for a ubi come from if no one is earning and paying taxes? Companies also won't exist because no customers, so no tax revenue from them either. We have a circular economy, break the circle and it fails.

    • @hippopotamus86
      @hippopotamus86 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @turboslag higher taxes on businesses that are befitting from higher output. Also doesn't mean that less people will be employed, it means more higher skilled people for jobs that can't be automated. A job shouldn't exist just to give someone a job.

      I sell industrial and collaborative robots (like the one in this video), and I can tell you if people are capable of operating a cell phone, they can program these robots. I don't believe that there are people who are "only capable of low skilled jobs". Quite the opposite - low skilled jobs are a waste of human talent and potential. People are amazing, and can do much more than some menial jobs. Barring a medically confirmed mental deficiency, no person should be stuck doing a repetitive task that is dangerous, dull, or downright depressing.
