    This week we're getting low with our 1963 Internation Harvester Travelall wagon. Swapping the inline six with a 6.0 LS just wasn't cutting it for this patina build, so we decided to throw a full Airlift Performance air ride set up on all four corners as well! Just like with JC's 55 Bel Air, we're using Airlift's Builder Series shocks to help get this job done. It took a lot of cutting, grinding, and welding to get these new shocks in place, but it's definitely worth it to have this LS wagon sitting on a more dynamic suspension!

    Man, that thing really airs up fast. It's so cool that Tim owned up to his 'mistake' in the first shot at the front suspension, I mean there's lots of ways that it could have been edited to not show that, but it was there. Much respect Tim!

    Correct way makes way more sense .

    Looks great.make sure u got plenty space between the bag n frame on the front. They looked Hella close to frame and didn't even have air yet. Something easy to overlook. Finally got my manifold back from airlift after nearly a week fighting with them. Iv got no confidence anymore in the competence of their testers. They didn't even know the ports in the back of my manifold was for pressure sensors. They just looked @ it said that why it was leaking n wanted send it back. Luckily they had someone else there smart enough to hold their hands and explain it to them and got a brand new manifold under warranty.

    This truck is turning out great. Is there a formula for figuring out the length of the 4-link bars? Do longer bars give you a softer ride? Just wondering if the length of yours, which seem fairly short, are the reason the rear goes up and down so quickly. Can’t wait to see this finished!

    • @SalvagetoSavage

    I have a question though. How do you know when not to go overboard on a project?

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We are definitely not experts at that! lol We're really good at getting caught up in builds and doing wayyyy more than is necessary. Especially on builds like this. If you're wondering on how to make those decisions on your personal project, it's all pre-planning. You figure out your budget and start your list with the most necessary tasks first. Find your cost for materials and don't forget to take in to consideration the cost of your time. Even if you're not doing this as a profession, your time is valuable so taking in the cost of your time will also help you decide which projects make sense tackling.

    Why would you use a panhard bar with an air suspension? As you move the suspension up and down, your axle is going to move side to side with the swing of the panhard. It would make so much more sense to use a Watts link or a wishbone.

    Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-(
    In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025
    on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!

    11:18 So has the body shifted on the frame? And if so, why didn't you stop and square/center the body on the frame? Or was the driver's side frame rail somehow bent inward 1/2"?
    Why didn't you narrow the axle tubes (and get new axles) to get some nice, deep dish wheels in the back and would also have allowed you adjust track width to keep the factory fender lips intact.

    Bags are so 90s. Should of put a set of hydraulic coilovers under it- make it handle 100% better too.

      This thing is a wagon, for cruising. Those air shocks are actually perfect for this build. Would love to do a build with the mitler bros hydros soon.

    Meh. Next. Puddin Fab Shop did all of this to his LS swap Travelall in his front yard, with less the equipment, less man power and a fraction of the cost. With as many resources available for this project, this is really not a big deal.
