The fact that the McDonald's employee said "I love you" back is wholesome.
At any of the McDonalds' around where I live in l.a you'd be lucky if the employee spit only once in your food, and even more lucky if that food you ordered wasn't created with *complete* lack of any discernable regard towards whatever quality you would expect from any standards set by the McDonald's corporation. Food and especially fast-food is only as good as the people who prepared it for you. In the case of my city's McDonalds', that quality is instead dependent on the creatures, not people, who prepare it for you. Such poor excuses for human beings infest los angeles and their nature is reflected in the food they attempt to serve at the McDonalds' here.

I worked at a McDonald's years ago. Only a few times did anyone say they loved me while I was working drive thru and I'm pretty sure those few people were high as hell and just happy to be getting food. They probably thought they were talking to the food there were about to eat and not some 15/16 year old in the store.
I like that "I love you" at the beginning. He hesitated and thought about what he should say in response to Josh, and then said "love you too."

I couldn't imagine being trapped inside that burning vehicle and refusing to hand my infant son to the emergency responders through the small opening they made in the wreckage. At least they lost consciousness from asphyxiation and weren't screaming in agony the entire time they spent burning alive.

I am digging the combo of the two. It seems like Rhett (understandably) wants to be Mr. Boss, and has to keep reminding himself that he is "learning here". Nice to get him out of his comfort zone a little bit.
Hmm I disagree that he was trying to be “Mr.Boss” I think he interjected at good points to add in his own remarks/insight but never tried to overtake the conversation and let josh talk (because it is his show). If you watch Josh with other cast members they talk over him (or just talk in general) much more than Rhett did this episode.
It's nice to see a father and his adopted son making a luxury McRib.
