    Cerakote produces amazing coatings for various industries, and the car detailing industry is no different. Cerakote produces some of the best products, however a few months ago they had released and sent out their first version of their professional ceramic coating for car paint. Cerakote spoke so highly of their coating and even said it could be the best coating out there. Nevertheless as more and more people got their free sample and started to apply and test the ceramic coating they quickly came to find out, it was just not a good coating at all. In some cases the coating would take significant hit after doing even just one simple wash. The durability and longevity of the coating was horrible. Various people including some big TH-cam channels got the opportunity to speak with the CEO of Cerakote about what was going on and trying to get some answers. There was a lot of talk about it, but in my opinion there were just excuses, Cerakote was trying to mitigate and do damage control which is understandable. The CEO seems like a stand up guy nevertheless and was willing to take the harsh criticism and stand behind his product and promise and sent out a second batch of their professional ceramic coating which seems to have undergone some updates and WOW! They got it right this time!

    The coating was always a great coating as long as specific conditions were met when applied. They changed the curing agent to allow for a wider range of conditions. The coating itself was not changed.
    that car had a serious amount of rail dust. Have you ever cleaned and dried it then tried hitting it with iron remover again to see how effective the first time was? I'm curious.

      yes I have a video two follow up videos as of right now, the one month update I use Iron remover to check the chemical resistance. Feel free to check them out 👍

    Very good video and job well done on this vehicle. May I ask how this coating compares to Adam's Professional Graphene coating? Hydrophobics, gloss, slickneess, dust repellency, and durability.

    • @OQDetailing

      Thank you very much, appreciate your support.
      As of right now I dont have much information to give you an educated answer as we just applied it and will do our first wash in the upcoming week.
      Nevertheless as someone who has used Adams advanced graphene ceramic coating many times, I can say both give great gloss, from my application on the cerakote it seemed more slick. As far as durability and longevity I am certain Adams beats this coating for sure although there hasnt been enough time with the cerakote to confirm. Ease of application goes to Cerakote for sure however, Adams seems to be able to applied to more surfaces other than paint compared to cerakote. The cerakote didnt do well with the black pastlic trim in the back of the tesla.
      please subscribe so you dont miss the update videos on this coating and see how it performs in the long run. Thank Pasqual

    Do you throw away the microfibers used from leveling and buffing or can you still sash and reuse?

    • @OQDetailing
      @OQDetailing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can still reuse them if you put them to soak right away. Rags to riches microfiber wash solution is my favorite. Other options could be dry and clear laundry soap or a rinse less wash.

    This coating does add nice slickness and gloss but it doesn't last. I much prefer Adam's Advanced Graphene Ceramic Spray coating because it also adds nice slickness and gloss plus it lasts significantly longer.
