    I grew it last year for the first time. And it was very productive. Got ~20 big tomato from 1 plant when given enough fertilizer. This is less sweet and less disease resistant than Sun Gold, but people grow it for health benefit, since it has more antioxidant. I'm growing couple of them this year again, still wait for them to ripe.

    Thanks for sharing this interesting and unique black beauty tomato variety.
    This tomato has a nice anthocyanin expression, which is the antioxidant that
    is found in blackberries, blueberries, and many other purple and dark purple fruits,
    vegetables, and other plants. ❤️Love, 🌞Light, ☮️Peace🌳 & 🌈Gratitude🦋.

      if someone grew them indoors and had something reflecting light underneath they would be fully dark or some LED light strips underneath,or utilizing both techniques

    I grow heirlooms and getting a perfect tomato is hard. you get a few but most have cracks and splits from the summer conditions For flavor you can't beat a Heirloom and I found Black Beauty this year to try. looking for a Brownsberry

    Dear friend after a long search found video of Black Tomatoes. I am from Pakistan. This winter I sow Black Cherry Tomatoes. Do you have any idea about all Black varieties of tomatoes and their growth. Every year I sow Yellow and Red Cherry tomatoes as well as our local variety tomatoes. First time seeds available than I sow Black Cherry Tomatoes.

    • @TrixieM712

      Hello, these are the only black tomatoes I grew. I did try black cherry seeds I bought on eBay but the turned out red and tasteless.

    Good review! I have noticed that those black tomatoes are not terribly remarkable in flavor. I won't grow them anymore. There are just too many good, really flavorful varieties out there that it's just a waste of garden space to grow this type of tomato. Thanks for trying it out for us so we can make an informed decision on choosing for ourselves
    Blessings, friends!.

      Kristen Thomas Hi Kristen....I can't say we have a Bakers Creek favorite. We have many of our own heirlooms now that we have been growing for many years. Last year we tried a bunch of new ones from Bakers Creek....I think I liked the black beauty the best of them. We always try something new for fun.

    Women need to taste test these because men are just not good at describing their feelings so they are not great at describing tastes either. It is what it is.

    • @TrixieM712
      @TrixieM712  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Odd broad stroke. I think famous male chef would disagree. Fred did the best he could and that was ok by me. I give him kuddos for doing it at all for others.

    • @leoscarpoli1nonly
      @leoscarpoli1nonly 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taste isn't a feeling, its a sense. Feelings are subjective and based in emotions experienced previously, something that all have, but women usually make a majority of their decisions on without applying a healthy screening of logic and reason.
