Back in the 90s and in the early 2000s, Disney had a real knack for making films that had great messages...and this one is no different. Although most of the film was a bit corny, this scene spoke volumes. No matter who you are, for one night, one moment in time, we were all one. We are all human beings (in this case, Americans) who shared one land. It doesn't matter what race you are or what you beleive in. We all share one land. Arguably, one of the best endings to a Disney Channel Movie.
This was when Disney actually produced good entertainment. yeah, the theater movies are good, but I mean when they would do movies that stream on the disney channel. This made me proud to be part Irish XD
This scene made me proud to be an American when I was a kid. I think it is awesome that through this movie you are able to learn the importance of patriotism and how our heritage and cultures can unite us, not divide us.
Kyle and Bonnie really sing well together, but what really made this song special is everyone else gradually joining in. It really shows how interconnected America and the world is 🌏
Fuckin still true. We’re all human, we’re all Americans (I mean if you live in the country,) let’s stop hating each other and start supporting one another again
+Jorge L Yep, I wish they did, too. Sadly, there are some people who just never seem to quite get it at all. The United States of America is a land of immigrants, a land where their ancestors came from many parts of the world. We must respect them for whom they are, not where they come from. Anyone who did not like the last scene of this movie or this particular scene, is a fanatic of Donald Trump's America, on what he believes America should be like.
I swear Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and cartoon network of the early 2000s was my whole childhood back when TV was actually worth watching! glad I grew up as a 90s baby 😭😌
When Irish people first came to America they weren’t accepted. This scene depicts the Americans as super welcoming with open arms. In reality the first generation of Irish people in America were treated very poorly.
@@antoniotolentino8108 I guess I got lucky. I loved this movie as a kid, and being 1/3 Irish, I was proud of that. Then, in one of my high school classes, we watched a movie about two love-struck Irish immigrants just trying to survive the harsh northwest US. If I remember correctly, my teacher discussed these topics of harsh treatment towards Irish, and I think he himself had plenty of Irish heritage. He was a great teacher.
Some might call this scene cheesy. But even as a kid I absolutely loved this scene. And perhaps now more than ever, the message is more important for people to watch.
Dang, 13 years ago. This was one of my favorite movies from when I was a kid. I graduated high school last year I really feel like my life has past me by. I miss being a kid
This just shows that there can be unity within the US. We can live in peace, harmony, and prosperity. A land with no racism, discrimination, and terror. If shows now-a-days would spread messages like this it could impact America greatly. Since America is a world power it could influence the world but I guess this is just wishful thinking. :)
Although I am from Austria, I feel the connection to that song. It is not only about beautiful sights and the landscape itself, it's the deeper meaning of the lyrics, which caught me. In fact we are a huge family on this earth. If we cannot live TOGETHER, then protecting this planet doesn't make any sense. Solving the big challenges of our future like climate change for example needs collaboration among all of us. First we must understand this Planet is your planet AND it's my planet, from Asia to Europe. What the people differs is the language, culture and skin colour BUT what us UNITES is the planet and that we are HUMAN!
Who here 2022 one best Disney movies lord they don't make them used to be today.. This movie mean lot toe and my heart.. I wish Disney step back make good movie..
This is why America (the United States) is such a great country. We were a melting pot from the beginning. We had our troubles. But we overcame them. We integrated every nationality, every ethnicity, every creed and system of belief into our own. Any group that has lived here for any period has integrated into our way of life. Every group that has immigrated here has kept to their own for a short period, but in time they become a defining member of who and what we are. I am so proud to be part of a nation that can claim such a heritage. We've always had our issues. Rejection of new immigrant groups and even laws against them have been a dirty secret of ours for too long. It's time we stand for what we claim to be all about. It's time that we no longer let a new immigrant group suffer what those in the past of had to endure. We are better than that. If you want to claim that you are an American, be willing to stand for what is true and decide that you will not stand for the discrimination of an ethnic group. That' not who we are. That's not for what we stand. We can show the world that we will not be defrauded into fear for the actions of a few, and condemn a people for those action just because they claim some minor tie. We are better than that. We have a chance, here an now. From our very inception of this nation. We can lead the way into the future. We can finally take a stand and and say that this will no longer be allowed. This we no longer define us. This will no longer be the direction that we will follow. We once put a man on the moon. We had a cause. We had a path to follow, something for which to strive. And we have given into fear since then. I can't blame anyone. We have families that if they were to be lost, we'd be devastated. But history is to be made be those that chose to risk it all. It has been fought by young men, and women of all races, in this very nation. If you want a cause, this it. This is the test of our new American faith. Our great experiment has reached its day of examination. And I, for one, believe that we have what it takes. We have defined the later half of the 20th century, we have defined the begging of the 21st century. We have proven that time and time again that we can lead into a new world of acceptance and approval of or species. We have finally been given the chance to prove that we are worth everything we've proclaimed we are for so long. We stood in front of a skeptical world since 1776, telling them that we could be different; Where the old world failed, we could succeed. We promised that we could change the bogged down prevalence that the would had devolved into. We proclaimed that we would change it all. And now is that chance. We've finally reach maturity. The chance to make that difference. 250+ years in the making. We have that chance. Don't let it pass.
+Occams Razor You are right, my friend. We are not perfect, but a wonderful nation with people from all walks of life who are treated with diplomacy, respect, dignity, equality, kindness, trust and honesty (w/o regards to the kinds of beliefs we share). That is why I love America - people striving for what they believe they can achieve in (if they work harder), put themselves first, what kinds of core challenges they need to come across, day after day, month after month, year after year etc., core American values - such as honesty, integrity, diligence, sacrifice, perseverance, diplomacy, respect and trust.More importantly, though, the kinds of opportunities and risks people have to take in order to accomplish their goals so they can make something better of themselves. And yes, I do agree, I believe that now is definitely that chance for us to reach maturity and to make a difference, after more than 250 years, where we can make it happen, rather than letting it go by. God Bless the United States of America! So proud to be an American citizen!
Occams Razor America gave into fear long before the moon landing. Trust me. The only reason why we made it to the moon first was due to the fact that we wanted to beat the Russians to it.
That being said, I do agree that the status quo of being "100% American" is a load of uneducated horseshit, taking into consideration that no one is from here, except the Native Indians. It's truly repulsive to see that many close-minded people reject immigrants, although they are only doing just what their ancestors did before. The whole excuse of "immigrants are taking our jobs" is spiteful, it's only a matter of time before the same cruel thing that happened to the Japanese-Americans during WW2 happens to Mexican-Americans. Nevertheless, perhaps one day the majority of us will realize how stronger we all are together.
mark tamayo Im Hispanic and I can tell you no one hates anyone for speaking English, it’s actually the opposite. Americans just want Latinos to stop speaking Spanish when people have the right to speak whatever they want. That’s the difference between older generations immigrants vs Hispanic immigrants. Puerto Rico is colonized by the US so they have every right to be mad, they can’t even vote in elections and aren’t allowed to have president because they are owned by the US. Also, Spanish is a European language; the correct term for the “Spanish” Language Hispanics speak is called Castilian from Castilla, Spain; so your theory on hating European ethnicities is not a rational argument. Spain conquered the Americas before the British came on the Mayflower. You can’t change history 🤷🏽♀️ The Spanish language and heritage pre-exists the English here in the Americas
That is sweet I loved this song from the Luck of the Irish it is a good song and it fits in perfectly with Culture Week and the song makes you realize that the land of America belongs to the people who live there and we are all part of America the land of the free and we love our nation
This is the standard we need to get back to as a country. We were on the right track at one point.. This land is made for all of us. Now if we can live together as neighbors. and have tolerance That'd be great. And Strong Leaders that care about the people. Better to look to the local level first.
