MS1 here. Can’t tell you how quickly the “wrongie” method has turned my studying around. In a little over a week I was able to feel more comfortable with the weeks material than I have for any other week the whole semester. Which is saying a lot considering this week was Cranial nerves. Just took a practice final for my course and my scores were significantly higher than I’ve ever seen in practice. Thank you so much!!

Honestly, I can't thank you enough for sharing all this content. You made me see there's a more productive and wiser way to learn and memorise without wasting valuable time. Although I knew reading, underlining and re-reading for long periods of time wasn't working at all (I was basically trying to not lose the focus rather than learning and understanding new information), I've kept on doing it for years (why, tho??) Definitely applying it for my EIR and nursing "oposición" exams. Cheers!

Excellent video! I've been kind of doing the "rongie method" indirectly but on Anki. Instead of just writing them down on the paper, i would type the points on Anki and put them under the tag "Difficult/Tricky", each for a specific topic tag as well to take an extra step at keeping it organised. How do you catch yourself from not defaulting to memorizing in anki since it’s so easy to make cards with image occlusion and actually prioritize understanding?
late response, but ask yourself: "why does this operate the way it does?". it's a simple question, but if you find that you're at a lost to explain why something is the way it is, and you're just regurgitating the definition, then you're only memorizing. also, ask yourself: "how does (a) relate to (b)?". once again, a simple question; but if you're revising a topic and you can only repeat definitions and concepts, but not how they relate to one another, then you're memorizing. mind mapping after you've finished revising is a quick way to test if you understand how concepts relate to one another. when i'm finished looking over cards and notes, i pull out some scrap paper, and in my own words, try to relate my understanding of each term to one another. if i find myself lost, then i know i don't understand the topic. this might not work for everyone, but it works for me, hope this helps!

I put 1 to 40 in a column (vertical) Then horizontally, I'd write 1 word for each weak points/ hard notion, usually a noun (usually pathologies that are hard to remember) and try to remember as much as I can on the topic. Ex: immunology--- 8/ thymus --- digeorge. Then i'd try to remember all around it. I don't even bother with specific questions, it's waste of time and space in the excel. Thanks to this method I've been able to study 5 months of lectures (of 4 different modules) in exactly 3 weeks and 4 days. And when I say i didn't even open a single lecture before strating to cram, I mean it. Those were 4 weeks of intense cramming but smart cramming with about 8-10 hours a day. I prefer excel because having an overview/ global view on a whole module is key for "branching" memory. And the best thing is that I didn't even needed to anki or practice test (because lack of time). If there's objectives given by the professor, I make sure I'm fully aware of them when I lean my lecture. And if not I try to put myself in the shoes of the professor and guess what the professor want, the key messages and points etc. Then I try to see if there's previous exams of last year and just skim the questions to know what awaits me. I dont even do these questions if I'm short on time.

Ps- I think I'm in love with you.. guy who has goals, motivation, does yoga and plays soccer! Amazing, lemme know when you want the wedding to be :)
Quick Question: What would you recommend in terms of books and/or online video lectures for first and second year med school curriculum? What books do you use for practice tests? Thank you and keep up the great work.
Great video! How do you find yourself balancing time between reviewing lectures/reading through lectures and do Anki? What I first started trying was not even looking at lectures and went straight to making Anki cards. But when I was reviewing Anki cards, I found that I didn't have the "context" that surrounded the cards--ie., I could remember the cards well even after spaced repetition because I couldn't really put those pieces of info together into a larger "story" or framework. Did you feel like this as well?
Thanks, I never reread lectures seriously because it’s been shown to be ineffective. I’m releasing a video this Friday on exactly what I do but you really want to make sure you get an understanding before making the cards. That understanding, for me, comes from a third party video like boards and beyond or sketchy, then I READ over the individual cards in the Anki browser to make sure I understand them, then I start going through the cards (you can check out my normal daily study routine here: th-cam.com/video/vj4lh9RCFzw/w-d-xo.html) I will usually do the above the day before the lecture, then when I show up to the lecture I have a good idea of what’s going on and just sit and watch. I don’t take notes or anything. I may make a flashcard or two on something that seems like a big picture idea I should understand. If when you are reviewing the cards you realize you have lost the big picture idea stop, google/textbook/lecture whatever it is you are doing, then in your head try and imagine you were explaining that material to a naive friend, then add that explanation to the “extra” section, or somewhere that pops up after you answer the card, if the Anki card. Also, this is my regular study “plan.” As you saw in the video above my exam review is just filling in those gaps from the regular semester, but, really, if you study consistently with Anki/understanding you shouldn’t have that many Rongies.
Hi. I was wondering if you can do a video on “ How to study for entrance exams”. There is so much material to cover and books to study from. The Broad range makes it difficult to know what the exam questions will cover. Time is precious so any tips is appreciated!

2. Learn
3. Practice testing
Day 1: skim half the topics you don’t understand or am unsure of and write them out in red
Day 2: gone through all content I need to know and wrote notes of stuff I don’t understand
Day 3: have the big red list of content I need to work on, Understand topics
Day4: Understand topics / Study/review
Day5: Understand topics/Study/review
Day6: Understand/ Study/review. Go back to Rongie’s list and try to explain them with no notes and nothing

Hi! I'm a Japanese acupuncture student!
Your teaching is wonderful and I refer to it.
That understanding, for me, comes from a third party video like boards and beyond or sketchy, then I READ over the individual cards in the Anki browser to make sure I understand them, then I start going through the cards (you can check out my normal daily study routine here: th-cam.com/video/vj4lh9RCFzw/w-d-xo.html)
I will usually do the above the day before the lecture, then when I show up to the lecture I have a good idea of what’s going on and just sit and watch.
Wow man
You're very thorough about everything
My brain takes things it doesn't understand as just bothersome sometimes
And then I go and see them in the exam😫
