    Thoroughly enjoyed every moment, what a little gem this is! A joyful screwball comedy with some fabulous one liners. I expect to be smiling for the rest of the day and intend to watch it again soon.

    So cute. Love Fairbanks Jr. and Sr. for that matter. Great actors. So Handsome. Wish they still made movies like these. Such trash these days. Young people have no idea what they're missing.

      ❤🎉 Douglas Jr such an incredible icon, why aren't movies like this and The Rage Of Paris viral??!! I only like these Oldies now, modern stuff is garbage. He was so ahead of his time, such talent and energy, and beauty... ❤️🤩😊😍🎥

    Love the sound of that Warner Brothers studio orchestra in the opening title sequence and throughout the movie. What a wonderful joy that gives me of watching old Warner Brothers musicals.

      Absolutely! It’s a sound that cannot be mistaken. The sound of the WB orchestra is also one of the many things that made so many of their Looney Tunes shorts so legendary.

    Usually when I watch these type of old movies the sound quality is awful, but this video is wonderful and I could hear what was being said From my iPad. Thank you for that great attention to detail!

    I love this film! There are a couple of missing scenes after 9:14, until Laura LaPlante is in the water. I'm always on the lookout for the complete picture.

      Thanks; I didn't get that at first; said, ``quintuplets?'' Will have to use that line. Of course, we've all heard, ``I am the evil twin . . .'' but they were so much more complex and subtle in that generation.

    I quite enjoyed this film but for an unusual reason. Fairbanks is more than fine, but Laura La Plante doesn't quite fill her role for me, so I kept imagining Carole Lombard playing her part, which made the film highly enjoyable. Lombard would have turned this film into a brilliant one. Of course Lombard came into her own later than this film, so perhaps the comparison isn't quite fair. it is hard to believe, from this performance, what a fine actor Margaret Lockwood would become, for later she did some excellent work. Martita Hunt, even in such in a tiny role, is magnificent as always. Good sets. Print not too sharp, but not too bad either. I think a scene is missing where La Plante wins a great deal of money, but it quickly makes sense. Morale.....Love will find a way even when chance is thrown in. Enjoy.

      Thomas Gansevo, Laura La Plante is much more prettier than Carole Lombard.

    • @mtngrl5859
      @mtngrl5859 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Carole Lombard was quite active during this time (1935), but she didn't make any films in England. She had made Twentieth Century (1934) which was a turning point in her career. I agree she was always great in screwball comedies. However, it would hard to believe that anyone would not have seen CL as being a beauty, Laura has a bit of a tomboyish type quality, so she is more suited to the role. Always enjoy Doug Fairbank jr, he's such a handsome fellow. Also, haven't seen Margaret Lockwood in such an early role, remember her more from the 1940's. This is one of Laura's last films, she was more of a silent film star, she started quite young, so by the time this film came out, she had been a leading lady for about 15 years.

    “The thunder last night turned the milk”? Wonder how many of those ol wives tales are actually for real? It would give a strong negative charge to atmosphere? And without the safety of an enclosed fridge ? I wonder?

      What was there to laugh at. Seemed more like a tragedy than a comedy to me. Theams were 'Suicide, loss of loved ones. Marital break-up. More suicide and depression.
