Congratulations on finishing the build! PM me if you are going to sell the 550. I'm still working on mine. The heat should lift here in the next couple months, that humidity here has kept me from riding though.

+ Icarus john I don't see a way to PM you on your channel. If you can send me one we can talk about the bike. Thanks.

Agreed these are great. I'm making my way through - some ideas if you haven't touched on them yet (probably top on my list to have explained like you do).
      Setting timing on the 550
Brake fluid replacement & priming for disk brake.
      Front shock internal rebuilding
      Rear shock adjustment/ride height
      Installing that aftermarket speedo
      Jetting tutorial
These are amazing videos for guys like me - minimal knowledge of rebuilding but ambition to get going. I need to be shown how it's done vs. reading a book/forum and you've made things so much easier.
Have a Norton 750 that doesn't require much maintenance now and looking to pick up a 500/550 in the next week. Can't wait to go through these videos step by step with the new bike.

Same issue on my CB750. I've just taken to stalling it out lol

Super late, but you can just extend the sidestand to turn it off!

This bike doesn't have a kickstand safety switch.

build a dune buggie or something of sorts with the engine. I think that would be cool.

Dead people on the title shouldn't matter. All they are going to do is check if the VIN is reported stolen or if there is a lean on it or other weird things like that, they aren't going to check if the person is alive or dead. Just make sure you fill everything out perfectly on the title very clearly because you can't mess up that title, if you smear ink all over it or don't fill something out clearly they *might* reject it then you have to get the dead dude to get a new title I think, which is impossible. You'll still be able to title it but it won't be "clean", it will be bonded or salvage or something. I just did the exact same thing with the exact same bike, year, color, everything. Bike sat since the 80's, had no idea if the dude on the title was alive or dead, and I was going to title it in a different state but it was signed on the back so all I did was fill it out and the DMV took it no problem. You're just a few pen strokes away from a clean title.

    What about the gas tank!?!

I decided I kind of like the look of it how it is now. Nothing on the bike is perfect so I think it would look funny if just the tank was nice and shiny. Plus this way I don't have to worry about scratching it.
