I love this. Back in the day Usher actually performed on a Korean music show. And BTS reference him in Butter then he put Butter as the song on one of his Insta reels. I saw a video of them getting to see him from afar and they were so excited so this makes me happy for Jungkook to perform with someone he’s looked up to for years. And 45 year old Usher still got it!!!! It was an unnecessary collaboration as the song is fire by itself but it’s a collaboration that truly makes you smile 😊

Singers and dancers especially idolized him - they would either dance to one of his numbers, do a song or just incorporate little Usher moves into their routines. MJ and Bruno are also like this (I've never seen as many idols at a concert as there were at Bruno's most recent concert in Seoul.) It's kind of great that you are seeing BTS members getting to perform with their idols: JK with Charlie Puth and Usher, J Hope with J. Cole. Maybe one day RM will get to collab with Nas.

Usher did perform in 1 concert in Korea in 2010 and it sold out almost instantly.

Jung Kook has come so far and it’s amazing how he is GROWING BIG TIME as a singer dancer( Jung was majorly influenced by Michael J. , Usher and Justin T. Honestly in the song for me hearing Jung Kook has his own style but at points in the song while he’s singing I hear him sound like his 2 major idol’s Michael J. & Usher. His vocals and dancing are intense and excellent, Godspeed in the Army JK ). Usher is an Icon, I’ve seen him several times in concert…His range from low to his falsetto you have to be there to understand what I mean . Usher is my age and I was a dancer and choreographer for many years , I see every move ( I especially like many parts but when Usher cross steps to Jung and Jung meeting him front and center is a masterpiece by both , I still choreograph for competition cheerleading both my passion before and presently becoming a Professional Nurse. Jung’s dancers and himself are incredibly intense , while Usher starts out smooth as butter ( puts his own trademark dancing in song Usher too was a big fan of Michael J’s dancing ) this collaboration is FIRE AND AMAZON TO WATCH , also the respect Jung Kook stepping back and Usher did his thing until they came together ( that show what a wonderful young man He is ). Also when reacting to BTS in the future keep in mind that a big part of their writing style is korean cultural references (especially in songs like Idol, Ddaeng, Silver spoon, their cyphers, Blood Sweat and tears, ect.) and understanding them makes the lyrics so much deeper. Also I BTS has literally never written a song without a good meaning so if you are confused I would definitely watch an explanation video after we hear your take on the song(because that is always my favorite part of your reactions). My broo! Loved the reaction, man. I agree with a lot of your comments. I've been looking forward to you getting into the BTS rabbit hole for ages. I understand the off-putting feeling around it. It's daunting. However, being a Hip-Hop head first and foremost, I got into BTS in the Wings era, and I love them. I don't think any artist has helped with my mental health as much. Other than that, I just think they are great dudes and very talented and varied musicians. I am a big SKZ fan too, they remind me a lot of BTS in some ways, which is probably why I think they are the stand out group of this gen of K-Pop. Big love from a fellow Brit.

Over the years, as fans, we have heard who they admire and their American Favorites. Their admiration for Usher has come up quite frequently over the years. RM, the leader of BTS, when he was only 16, he would have the BTS boys come to listening parties. He would play all types of music. He wanted them to be well versed in all types of music. A lot of artists they had never heard before. They also have a tendency to write about their favorite music artists in their music. Example of an Artist/Song would be, Hip Hop Lover. JK said that Usher, Justin Timberlake and Justin Bieber are his inspirations. He’s now done a remix with JT (3D which is 🔥) and Usher. He’s indirectly worked with JB. Hoping for a real collab with JB too. Since they met at Coachella this year, I’m hoping it’s all done and they just haven’t dropped it yet.

BTS called out Usher in Butter. BTS members love Usher. They showed respect to him in Butter. He liked that song. Jimin is a huge fan. We been waiting for this collab since Butter. So happy. I bet Jimin is jelly. Maybe in the future we can get a Jimin and Usher collab. That would be so sweet. Sigh. Seeing Usher do some of the choreo was wonderful. My broo! Loved the reaction, man. I agree with a lot of your comments. I've been looking forward to you getting into the BTS rabbit hole for ages. I understand the off-putting feeling around it. It's daunting. However, being a Hip-Hop head first and foremost, I got into BTS in the Wings era, and I love them. I don't think any artist has helped with my mental health as much. Other than that, I just think they are great dudes and very talented and varied musicians. I am a big SKZ fan too, they remind me a lot of BTS in some ways, which is probably why I think they are the stand out group of this gen of K-Pop. Big love from a fellow Brit.

Over the years, as fans, we have heard who they admire and their American Favorites. Their admiration for Usher has come up quite frequently over the years. RM, the leader of BTS, when he was only 16, he would have the BTS boys come to listening parties. He would play all types of music. He wanted them to be well versed in all types of music. A lot of artists they had never heard before. They also have a tendency to write about their favorite music artists in their music. Example of an Artist/Song would be, Hip Hop Lover. They've also told us about going to see Eminem before they debuted and what a big influence he was on them. Thanks for your reaction.

You’re right regarding the “ also rans” that they hung around JK’s neck up to now. Frankly, JK was upstaged on his own song with Usher because he doesn’t know how to create vocal counterpoint in R & B style. Why should he, his expertise in K- pop is phenomenal.
