Surly Straggler Build Part 4 Brake Rotors and Caliper's

We are back on the #surlystraggler for Part 4: Brake Rotors and Caliper's. Tektro TRP Spyke dual piston mechanical disc calipers are my brake of choice for this bike. Why? I like the design, I think they will perform nicely for the build brief: Single speed urban warrior with gravel track capabilities. It will generally be unloaded and ridden for the pure pleasure of just riding a bike, but occasionally it may be called upon to commute, do a grocery run or even a cold 6 pack to share with the missus on one of the many bush tracks we have around here. So, a powerful brake with smooth modulation should do the trick. I also like the serviceability of these units. Surprised? Don't be. For rotors, I went with some 160mm TRP 6 bolts. I haven't had the pleasure of using TRP rotors before, so lets see if I can feel the difference. One thing I can say right from the start is they are immaculately true, honestly. Cheers BFD.
