There was such an immense amount of pride, personal satisfaction, and sheer joy in his face as he ended the song and looked to the audience. It's as if he was thinking to himself, "Man, I still got it, and I'm so glad all these people weren't let down." What a magnificent guitarist, musician, and artist. The single-most underrated guitarist of all time, I think. Bravo, maestro...
This, after listening to virtually every version ever performed by Lindsey with, without Fleetwood Mac, or alone with Stevie, is undoubtedly and unequivocally in my most honest opinion, thee very best and most awesome electro-acoustic solo version of "Never going back" by Lindsey.
I keep coming back to watch this recording time & time again, is this possibly the best performance of this iconic track that Lindsey has ever played solo I wonder ?.......I honestly think so, it is an incredible performance, he puts 110% into the song, and I am never short of blown away every time I watch this.
For those Lindsey fans out there. The solo stuff is ABSOLUTELY EPIC too! Especially ''Go Insane'' (the album) is beyond epic! What an artist.... Very very underrated!
Absolutely. Lindsey Buckingham...underrated. I know great guitar players. The guitar man my favorite love. Lindsey simply one of the best. He does not use a pick. His sound is so clean, complex, and unique. Him and Stevie made some of the most creative music together. I consider Lindsey a musical genius. Producer, song writer, business man, band member, and a lover. what a rare combination. I love his guitar playing.
I had no idea how good looking he is. He had me with his guitar playing and vocals. Him and Stevie were quite the couple. Amazing dynamics between the two.
As your fret hand develops excruciating cramps and wants to die (if you have attempted this song), you will discover why his "yeeaahhhh" vocals at the end are so emotionally charged. Haha! Love this song. This guy is so good, what a talent.
if i've said it once about LB, i've said it a million times... "that folks, was just one man and his guitar... sounds like he brought a whole band with him, though... doesn't it?"
Innovative, complex, richness, pure emotion...easily my favorite guitarist of all time...not only an amazing guitarist, but a fantastic singer as well...wish I had gotten to see them live...this is the music that I grew up listening to, and I always go back to it....PURE genius!!
I've listened to Fleetwood since I was a kid, here and there but it didn't take long for Lindsey to become one of my favourites once I listened to everything they had.
Lindsey makes me grateful to be the age I am- and to have enjoyed this brilliant musician in my youth. I was blessed to have seen this group and enjoyed thepure happiness he gave to us all. He is just wonderful !!!!
Most Excellent! The most under rated Musician ever! Ten thumbs up!!! Seriously, how many musicians write, play and sing their own music? I know there are many one hit wonders but, wow man! How many hits after hits that Lindsey Buckingham has had that really makes you sing and appreciate the true mastery of his craftsmanship???
This is one of the songs I play to try and keep my technique from failing as I dont play that much anymore. I've probably played it 500 hundred times and I still cant get the nuances he gets. He's an amazing player and one of my fav guitarists. Not to mention co wrote my favorite album of all time.
anybody can say anything they want, absolutely the best song ever written. If I could play and song that for my friends and family I would be totally content
I love Fleetwood Mac but Lindsey Buckingham is one of the best musicians/ singer song writers out there his guitar playing style is so good always a great sound and his stage presence is incredible on stage he must be the hardest working performer I have ever seen absolute quality 👍👍👍
As a guitarist I am just spell bound,, not only of the difficulty of the piece but his ability to sing over the top of it with such disregard to what his hands are doing! Oh and he didnt have youtube to learn it, this has come from a blank piece of paper! To ramp it up a notch there is also a pinched harmonic version that is simply magical :-)
Try playing this song. It is maddening, but worth the effort. It's the first one I've learned that uses almost every finger on both hands. Talk about an underrated musician. What an incredible song writer. Thank you LeapTV.
+neurofire Wow I only came here to learn the riff just watched the vid 3 times in tears I think I Know what the song actually means now. Bottom E down to D brother
After a couple of years trying to learn this, I 'know' what to do with both hands, but actually doing it is, well, fkin impossible lol, I doubt I will ever master it.
Yeah man, the picking is gnarly. I've progressed quite a lot since the last post. I can play it all the way through now, just need to polish it up. Best way to play complex patterns is to avoid the urge to over think and instead rely on your muscle memory. I learnt it in phrases, playing them over and over, then playing them through together until I had the whole track down. Don't give up man, anyone can do it with practice.
Hard song to play let alone sing along to..lot of talent there..sounds like he's playing more than 6 strings..this and Go Insane are emotionally charged tracks.
I am 22 years old myself, and I saw them live two times, feel so lucky! This man is a pure legend and apart from Mike Oldfield, I did see my musical heroes playing live (the others being Rod Stewart, Gary Numan). The problem with liking this kind of music is that there are few opportunities (especially if you live in the Netherlands) to go and see these great bands live. I hope that sometime in the future, great bands arise once more and I can still go to concerts which send me shivers down my spine :)!
Mr Good News In his earlier performances he has it on 4th fret capo but now plays on 3rd fret to accommodate his vocal range. Voice changes when we get older so he had to bring it down.
Mr Good News This is a different key than how it was recorded on the Rumours album (which I like the best). I'm thinking he uses this key to fit his own voice.

Lindsay is a true guitar legend. Unique and passionate.
Absolutely just one of the coolest songs and acoustic guitar riffs of ALL TIME....!!!!!
A real masterclass! Clean picking and heartfelt singing. Pure class.
For those Lindsey fans out there. The solo stuff is ABSOLUTELY EPIC too! Especially ''Go Insane'' (the album) is beyond epic! What an artist.... Very very underrated!
Sjors Hegger Good tip, I only recently realised how much solo stuff he's done. I will check it out.
Difficult to find words for how good this is. A sublime performance. Passion, utter commitment and technical mastery.
An absolute master of his guitar. Probably the best guitarist I have even seen
This man is incredibly talented. Every aspect ... songwriting, singing, playing, delivery and showmanship. He's a national treasure.
To put it in perspective, they needed 3 guitarists when they had to replace him.
Absolutely. Lindsey Buckingham...underrated. I know great guitar players. The guitar man my favorite love. Lindsey simply one of the best. He does not use a pick. +D.A. Finn you forgot to mention that he is gorgeous!!!
He's just one of the greatest players/singer/songwriters of all time.
I had no idea how good looking he is. He had me with his guitar playing and vocals. Him and Stevie were quite the couple. Amazing dynamics between the two.
I couldn't agree more....very underrated! one of the best players of all time!
As your fret hand develops excruciating cramps and wants to die (if you have attempted this song), you will discover why his "yeeaahhhh" vocals at the end are so emotionally charged. Haha!
Love this song. This guy is so good, what a talent.
I've been playing guitar for 20 years and will never be able to play this song correctly. It's like he created an enigma.
Right Nathan? Really love this song too.
Nathan Congleton that's not too comforting. been playing for 6 years and I feel like my hand will never be able to do what he does
A master, a legend. This is music, this is art, this is beautiful.
He is just absolutely amazing.
One of my favorite songs by Fleetwood Mac. I went down in 1979, got up and NEVER WENT back again!
Most amazing performance of a song we all wish we could sing as well.
This made me cry... And not in a bad way. Love him and this song..
if i've said it once about LB, i've said it a million times... "that folks, was just one man and his guitar... sounds like he brought a whole band with him, though... doesn't it?"
It's so rad to see how expressive he is and how he plays the song completely differently here.
Favorite song by Fleetwood Mac/Lindsey. Makes me cry every time.
me too!!
dont cry be happy lol
Didn't say it was a sad cry ;)
for me its always happy sad especially when he sings it with "her". you can feel the law of attraction between them.....
Innovative, complex, richness, pure emotion...easily my favorite guitarist of all time...not only an amazing guitarist, but a fantastic singer as well...wish I had gotten to see them live...this is the music that I grew up listening to, and I always go back to it....PURE genius!!
That was so beautiful. I will be crying for the next 2 weeks.
Wow, so much talent in this man and it just erupts out of him.....awesome !
I've listened to Fleetwood since I was a kid, here and there but it didn't take long for Lindsey to become one of my favourites once I listened to everything they had.
Look on his face at the end..he knows he nailed it .
This is history, culture, art, a life highlight.
never get tired of it
This is one of the songs I play to try and keep my technique from failing as I dont play that much anymore. I've probably played it 500 hundred times and I still cant get the nuances he gets. He's an amazing player and one of my fav guitarists. Not to mention co wrote my favorite album of all time.
Amazing masterpiece that will out live us all ! TIMELESS !!! ~
anybody can say anything they want, absolutely the best song ever written. If I could play and song that for my friends and family I would be totally content
Playing softly then getting louder is what make him a real musician!
That was friggin magical.
My favorite song by my favorite artist
More talent than is legal for one man...
I love Fleetwood Mac but Lindsey Buckingham is one of the best musicians/ singer song writers out there his guitar playing style is so good always a great sound and his stage presence is incredible on stage he must be the hardest working performer I have ever seen absolute quality 👍👍👍
Most excellent Mr. Buckingham
The middle(solo) part is incredible. really want to learn it.
Timeless.
Thank you, again, and again, and again, Lindsey. And again.
superb👌 absolute legend till the end of time
That was cool to see. So cool...
So awesome to see him do it solo like this, wish I could have been there.
Try playing this song. It is maddening, but worth the effort. It's the first one I've learned that uses almost every finger on both hands. Talk about an underrated musician. What an incredible song writer.
Thank you LeapTV.
+MyworstEnemy
Agreed. Does he use an altered tuning?
+neurofire Wow I only came here to learn the riff just watched the vid 3 times in tears I think I Know what the song actually means now. Bottom E down to D brother
+neurofire Hi yes he does - it is played in Dropped D ( 6th string down to D )
I love the host/interviewer as he seems to sit in awe of his guest. Must be fun so sit so close to and witness such greatness :)
How amazing is that he by himself can sound Fleetwood Mac....Amazing 💚
Lindsey is a musical MONSTER. Im learning this song and oh my how do you come up with this?!
*Rumours* greatest album ever
The smile on the interviewer's face at 1:20
OMG... A Master. Incredibly, Lindsey doesn't even read music. Makes me love him even more... :)
Amazing!! Purely amazing guy!
It is really sick how good this guy is, a true artist.
Guy's a guitar hero... Rumours for life!
A Master at work!!
Wow, that's awesome !
When he plays.... always sounds like 2 guitars playin....
He was great with setting his delay pedal just right in order to fill out all of those potential gaps.
just a great singer and guitarist !
One of the best!
That man is so incredible!
And six IDIOTS! What a Class, pure CLASS performance! Thank you for Posting!
Wonderful. Thank you so much. I loved it.
amazing guitar playing
Oh this human takes my breath away. 😍❤️😍🎸🎤🤘⭐️
creatividad musical y ejecución instrumental magnas. Mr. Buckingham Siempre.
Lindsey's talent is on a higher level
love this damn song so much.
Christ, I wish I was half the player he is😳 truly underrated
One of the most underrated, incredible
One of the best Performer. Nice Nice.
.... mesmerizing !!!!
Check out Big love live. He's awesome.
Beautiful thank you
Genio. Maestro. Otherwise, no words.
Amazing
I can't watch this enough times.
pure unadulterated talent.period
I love the fact this song ages with him, and it's aging well.
Brilliant.
Beautiful!
my guitar hero
Best on stage rock musician I've seen.
Eats youngsters for breakfast.
I'm trying to learn this on guitar. Trying being the optimum word, it's insanely hard to play.
It's all in the picking pattern man. Notes on the neck are easy to memorize, but it's the picking that makes the room go quiet.
The man....I can't play without a pick. Someone to aspire to.
Haha, I can't play with a pick.
+Hugh Birkett It's the same here xD I'd like to
Pure class ! Long live Rumours !
Hard song to play let alone sing along to..lot of talent there..sounds like he's playing more than 6 strings..this and Go Insane are emotionally charged tracks.
Hope those students understand that they were in the presence of a Legend!
Solid gold
OMG! Amazing
What a gift.
Dang, Lindsey sure loves a BRIGHT guitar!
Painful feelings never sounded so good.
Master right here.
I'm 18 years old and I've paid to see fleetwood mac twice. the younger generation still knows good music, my friends. not all of us listen to trash.
I am 22 years old myself, and I saw them live two times, feel so lucky! Listen to David Gilmour live in Gdansk.. another world h mentioning, very mesmerizing as well. Listen to on an island
justmeji agree
Masterclass.
I love this tune more for the great riff and melody than for the guitar virtuosity. But he is a fine player
I dream to be able to do his at age 65
Still got it. However, most tabs and tutorial has 4th fret capo but he always has 3rd. When i do it doesnt sound right
Mr Good News In his earlier performances he has it on 4th fret capo but now plays on 3rd fret to accommodate his vocal range. Voice changes when we get older so he had to bring it down.
Mr Good News he's tuned down half a step aswell im guessing :)
Mr Good News This is a different key than how it was recorded on the Rumours album (which I like the best). I'm thinking he uses this key to fit his own voice.
thanks guys
