Ever since I seen how Africans and Caribbeans clean their chicken, I do mine the same way. Lemon and salt or vinegar and salt. You'd be surprised how many pple don't believe this process is necessary. I also appreciate how y'all seem to incorporate onions, peppers,tomatoes and garlic in so many of your dishes.
My friend from Mexico does the same thing! She uses salt and lemon to clean hers. We are blessed to get chicken that is raised and processed by our local organic farmer and that is some nice raw chicken. Not smelly like chicken from the store

Nigerians cook stew similar to this too, so do Gambians, Senegalese, Malians... It's ALL OVER Africa. Pour in some rice and water then cook longer and it turns to Jollof rice, Please respect and celebrate our differences. Nobody is stealing. Amazing video.

You’re right, there’s a close resemblance but only in appearance. The preparations are significantly way far off. The Ghanaian is tomato based where as the Ethiopian is onion and chili powder based. Both great recipes 🙏🏿❤️
You already use enough onions, also Ethiopian use both tomatoes and chili depending on each individual. The difference is you fry the chicken that’s all. And you don’t have home made cheese.

After a long pause I decided to make this wonderful an delicious looking Stew. The time that it took me to complete was more that I expected, however, it was worthwhile. I’m enclosing a picture of my humble attempt. I realized two mistakes I may have made. Did not frye onions long enough. And fried chicken a little to long. Will try harder next time. Thank you for showing the people how to properly clean up after dealing with raw chicken. When I used to tell people I clean my chicken with vinegar, lemon, and salt, and then use bleach to clean up before I season anything, people look at me like I’m crazy!

Why do I think, it looks more of Ethiopians "Doro wet"?
I cannot wait to try Doro wet! I love lots of onions and Doro wet is more onion based without tomatoes as in this recipe. The chicken is treated very differently also in Doro wet. Very different preparations and both great recipes👌🏾

chicken. When I used to tell people I clean my chicken with vinegar, lemon, and salt, and then use bleach to clean up before I season anything, people look at me like I’m crazy!

Good morning, I’m going to attempt this for dinner this evening. Purchased all my ingredients yesterday. Cleaned and prepped this morning at 6 am…will be starting the chicken around 11am (should be enough time for marinating). Like 223 I arrived late due to season’s mood 😂Hope they that came earlier haven’t finished the food. That fried chicken came out absolutely yummy and the stew perfectly red and thick. Love the lots of oil used it’s best for stews. And your salads... Jesus I want it all. Yuuuuuum😋😋😍😍❤️
