Mr Inbetween is currently airing it's 3rd season on FX then Hulu the next day and odds are most of you watching have never seen it. 3 years in and it's still one of the least talked about but best shows on tv right now. With a brilliant mix of comedy and high drama, Mr Inbetween was created by and stars Scott Ryan as Ray, an Australian hitman who struggles to juggle his career and crumbling family/social life. The stories are compelling and characters are incredibly well written. It may take several episodes to get into the tone of the show but once you do, I have a feeling most of you are going to love Mr Inbetween as much as I do!

I just found Mr In-between last month. Excellent show.
I recommend Warrior, with the newest season bringing some epic moments that made it easy to imagine Bruce Lee on the lead role, and Banshee, made by some of the same folks.

Ok I have to protest about the inference of the "inappropriateness" of the relationship between Leon and Natalie in "The Professional." As a little girl, traumatized of course by what she's seen, she has a fantasy moment that is cringey BUT in no way does it actually infer anything but her imagination. Leon is devoted to her as a protector, he plays a simple person VERY well with a simple view of life, he trusts easily letting his boss keep basically all his money without feeling at all like he'll never let him have it if he asks, it's a very appropriate relationship considering the inappropriate nature of the circumstances. Yep he does begin to teach her about being a "hit person" and yeah that's hardly an appropriate scenario but it's all he knows so he's imparting his only expertise to her because that's all he has to give.
And "The Company Man" is VERY good. I have not seen The Ice Man, I do know the actual story it's portraying and Shannon is hardly the physical analog of the actual Ice Man, but I'm a huge fan of his and I'm really looking forward to it.

The realism of this show is insane. Even the gunfights are some of the best I’ve seen on tv. 10/10 show for sure I wish this wasn’t the last season.

Stopped at 3:00 minute mark to check it out last night. 12 hours later now I'm on episode 2 of season 3.
If people think that Scott Ryan took influence from Walter White in *"Breaking Bad,"* just a reminder that the character of Ray Shoesmith in *"Mr Inbetween"* predated Walter White by three years, and began developing the character since 1998.
Being Australian I was delighted to see such a well written and acted that didn't pull punches on being Australian. I absolutely loved this show and nobody I know has a bad word to say about it.
I fully agree with your praise for Mr In between. I lived in Australia for over 10 years and can attest for the authenticity of the characters. The laconic nature of some of the tough guys, the greed and boneheadish crims, and the philosophical way they handle the situations they find themselves in. Great humour and surprising realism. 10 out of 10 for me.
I really wonder how much is understood about the small subtleties of the micro aggressions written in and acted that are normally innocuous, but can take on a menace when said a certain way. I wonder how much is lost in between cultural mannerisms.
Yes it is almost too authentic ray reminds me exactly of my dad he is dead now so I feel comfortable saying that but I am not joking when I say they are almost identical it's crazy to me!!!!
@@AbbyJasmine-xu1kg As an American I originally had a hard time understanding but within 20 minutes I was in sync and hooked to the character and history. The acting and naturality is superb and refreshing!

So glad to see recognition for this show. Got hooked hard during season one, and after finishing season two, I sat and wondered if it was the best show ever made. Just got done riding the roller-coaster of the latest episode, and the ending totally wrecked me. It will be an artistic tragedy if this really ends after season three.
The real star of the show is Gary. We've all got friends like him.

Ugh its too oo shorrrt. I watched seasons 1-3 up until now and I did that all in one night and never felt an ounce of boredom or dislike for anything in it, and now I hear this is the last season????? Tf???
My son introduced me to Mr Inbetween last winter and I have been dying for the 3rd season to come out. It IS the best TV show out right now but I am so disappointed that the 3rd season is so short. What I find so interesting about the character is that despite him doing such awful, awful things, you can't help but really like him.
As a native of the land down under, this show is certainly a local product that I can feel some genuine pride over. What is most interesting to me is the way even the most mundane moments of the decidedly average lives of the marvellously average characters in the story are highlighted and used to excellent effect. Yes, people brush their teeth, yes people fart, and so many other random moments whose ordinariness make for a very “real” and believable show!
No Darren why are you introducing everybody to my hidden gem. It’s so crazy because I just started watching this show a few weeks ago and I was saying it gives me breaking bad vibes and everything. I considered the best show I’m currently watching and here you come saying all the same things lol I’m just so hurt that it’s only 3 seasons and the creator said he’s done with the show. Also wished the episodes weren’t so short but it’s the best show on Hulu and I will miss it.

Mr Inbetween is amazing. I binge watched the entire three series in a few days but now I’ve gone back to the beginning to watch it again and see what else I missed. It’s unbelievable how much is packed in to each episode.

going to watch MR INBETWEEN sounds & looks good. one to watch is an overlooked tv show no one is talking about where I'm from in the world. it's called Banshee it's old from 2013 it's really good .the shows look similar. thanks, Flick Connection

Silence of the Lambs is a top favorite of mine so I was skeptical about a series based on that but I really like it. Very well done I think.

Couldn't agree with you more. I fell into this show during the pandemic and couldn't wait for the latest season. Big fan of Breaking Bad - another show I discovered about mid-way, binged the old episodes and watched the last three seasons as they were released. Better Call Saul is a worthy follow up. Anyone who likes sci-fi should check out The Expanse on Amazon Prime.

Great show, just binged it. Not without its faults of which there are many, but it always rises above them in the long run. But the faults, one of which starting a new story line then dropping it, for instance the reporter doing a piece on hitmen, that just disappears. Or the lack of an explanation to the relatives for what happened to the brother who had a mercy killing and was burned in the house, the season ends and no one asks what happened to him, where did he go, its just not plausible on its own level. That said, brilliant idea to keep episodes at half hour length and it was amazing how much story and action was done in that short time.
I was lucky enough to catch it when it came out. Ray is one of my favorite characters on TV.

Just finished season 3. Outstanding. Recommended it to all my brothers. Great complicated characters, black humor and realistic violence.
I haven't missed Mr. Inbetween. It's one of my favorite shows. I'm just sad the final episode of the series airs in one week. Season 3 is another short 6 episodes long.

I want to thank you SO much for introducing me to this show. I had no idea it even existed until I saw your recommendation last week. Just finished the final episode last night, and every episode was at least a 9/10, with the majority of them being 10/10. This series is so amazing. My only complaint is that it ended. But damn, what an ending. I love the explanation of the ending someone left in the comments section of that scene posted on TH-cam. SPOILER FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T WATCHED IT YET. They put it perfectly, by commenting:
He looks into the first guy's eyes, and begins smiling because he doesn't know who he's fucking with.
Then he looks in the second guys eyes, smile widening because he doesn't know who he's fucking with.
Then with a full smile he looks the audience in the eyes...because we know exactly who they're fucking with.
I'll never listen to AWOLNATION's Run, without thinking of Mr. Inbetween's ending. I think Scott Ryan would make a great Joker. Every time he flashed that grin that was the calm before the storm, I always thought of the Joker.

Because of your horror video, I watched The Empty Man even though I still thought that the trailer looked dumb. Funny that I watched half of episode 1 and didn't think much of it, but I hear about it a lot, so I'm taking your 3 episode challenge. The show sounds pretty good, and it will be fun to catch up to the current season.
I watched every single episode so far that's has aired and it gave me a feeling I never had while watching any show or movie. It was like I was receiving dopamine everytime I was watching it, pretty bummed it's ending.

I found this awesome show by chance a year ago and binged all of it, fucking loved it, and the new season is noice! I cried like a bastard during Ray's Dad telling him his story on this week's episode.

It’s exclusive to specific streaming services and not free. A lot of good movies and shows go unnoticed because of this. If not unnoticed then viewed in places that aren’t tracked for viewership. But that’s how it is and everyone knows that right?

Back here after the series finale. What an incredible show 3 seasons wasn't nearly enough.
Right after I finished the last available episode of this amazing show, I started watching Stateless. Guess what the opening song was? “Mr. Inbetween”!! Crazy coincidence!
