That's for sure man, lots of gold lost too in those clumps, I'll have to go back with a new and improved invention to make quick work of it..non-mechanical of course! Thanks for watching !

I would love to restore that rusty pan you have. I've restored several pieces of cookware that are similar to that pan, and I'm willing to bet I could work my magic on it. So if you'd ever like to see your old pan looking new, I'd do it free of charge as a thank you for all of the education and entertainment you've provided me over the years.

@@squirrelorama I would never defile Crusty Rusty like that; but I would definitely clean up that gold pan.
You know, it's kind of funny that at no point during my previous message did I put any thought to pointing out that even though it seems like I'm describing Rusty, I am indeed talking about the gold pan. Derp.

I appreciate it! I think I'll leave it since they always end up "rusty again" because they ..just do. I kind of prefer the rust, it's like natural seasoning for the metal pans. Thanks though anyway!

Klesh, great video as always! I've found that the simplest method for breaking up clay is to fill a bucket half way with dirt and then top it off with water. Put a watertight lid on it and vigorously shake/rock the bucket back and forth while it's one the ground. The clay and rocks grind against one another and leave a nice loose slurry. A bit of a trick when prospecting Nevada clay.

One thing I really like about your videos is that I can watch one and get so many tips on how to pan and how to look for gold. Have you every looked through some of your chunkier magnetic material to see if you have come across any pieces of meteorite?

Hey klesh good job nice vid so i have an idea about the clay and your sluice box just grab a tined rake take the handle off and place it accross right by the sluice drop riffles that way it can block big chunks from just rolling off and will give the water a bit more time to eat away athe clay and soften it or or give you time to shovel then grab the pieces that just sit there that way you dont have to classify just a friendly suggestion

About 30years ago, a couple buddies and I went up above timberline there (on Lost Canyon Road) and reworked some tailings from the Lost Canyon placer (magnetite chunks 1" in diameter were very common, and they ran their water hard to keep them moving, and thus washed gold through); in one day we had 5gms of 'fines', a 1/4oz nugget with quartz, and one beautiful 1/2 oz nugget shaped like a peanut in the shell! Was a great day! But someone reactivated the claim, and was off-limits when I went back up a few years later. Good times, though!

I finally had to put my banjo pan with a dream mat in it below the end if the bazooka and found 17 nice flakes of gold that had blown out of the bazooka.
My faith in it has kind of gone away. Now i will always be using another catch all with it! If it was a foot longer maybe?

Man, I wish I lived somewhere where I could just drive a few hours and get to pan gold. Ohio does not have good gold, at least up near Cleveland. Great Video. Have a great day!

Yeah I know there's gold in Ohio (check out Flash in your Pan on TH-cam), not sure the exact location though. Maybe not near cleveland, but for me to drive to this place it's about 2.5 hours one way to pan for gold.

GPAA Swank West. Bellville Ohio. Fantastic access to the river, and we always found good gold. Digging or using the dredge.
I think it would be two or three hours from Columbus. There is also rv camping there. The Swank East is more remote and tent only so maybe not as dug out. Also the GPAA just purchased another clAim on the East side bordering
PA. Go for it! Nice people down there!
