The umpire was in another world during Sanchez's at bat in the 11th. He didn't come close to foul tipping that ball and the 3rd "strike" was like 8 inches outside lol.
Maybe the ump was getting tired. It was extra innings.

This is looking like a great series in the making. Both teams had many chances to win.
Damn, was not expecting that outcome. To be honest, I was disappointed with both offenses today. I know there was Verlander on one end and probably the best bullpen in the league on the other, but there were strikeouts everywhere, lots of bad pop-ups and too many weak groundballs. For the Astros, I have been incredibly disappointed with Alvarez and basically every one after Bregman. For the Yankees, I've only seen Gleyber be consistent with his hitting. This is a pitching series, and whoever has a good day will end up getting the win for their teams. So hyped for the next games in NY!!

Man the pitching didn’t steal the show the fielding of the Yankees did.
There has to be an agenda when an umpire calls a strike on what is blatantly a ball (Sanchez) and in such a crucial moment in the game... It's sometimes hard to believe there is no rhymes or reason.
The umpire missed the previous strike out pitch saying it was foul tipped when the batter obviously missed it. The umpire was going to give the pitcher a strikeout at any ball close to the strike zone after messing up on the so called foul tipped ball. The umpire watched his bad call on the big screen just like everyone else did and he made up for it.....
Can't be mad at that call when he should have struck out already

@@TrueRGM Who said I was mad? A pitch well outside the strike zone is not a strike. Anything that takes place aside from this pitch has nothing to do with the call. The umpire called an obvious ball a strike.

@@jatinrao2541 yes...this was more a Yankees loss than an Astros win..they outlasted Verlander but couldnt pull through as Gary becomes a Mary at the plate...Yanks did the bare min which was get the one W in HOU but they also kept their bats quiet so thts a plus (Nobody said this ALCS would be easy)...and now..the balls in their court to pull through in these last 3 Games...will face Cole and V again but..its at Home..will the Yanks wake up, man up and STEP UP under the lights of the Bronx? I would like to see Astros players collectively kneel during the national anthem throughout the remainder of their playoff run, in protest of the latest local area murder by cops there. Atatiana Jefferson was the latest victim of more police crime, as she was shot dead in her own home when police responded to a call by her neighbor that her home door was open during the early hours of the morning. Ft Worth police began inspecting the perimeter of her house, and when one finally saw her standing in her home, he yelled at her to “show him her hands”, before immediately opening fire and killing her.... in front of her young sibling. The shooting came less than two weeks after the Dallas cop who shot Botham Jean dead in his own home was found guilty of murder. And who can forget the Tuttles, who were murdered in their own home by Houston PD when their home was the target of a botched (wrong home, bad intel) SWAT raid. The Astros have a major platform right now in the ALCS, and need to use it, IMO, to show their community that they stand with them against corrupt criminal pigs.
So some dirty cops shoot some people and it’s the flags fault? Sorry MLB has rules for this bullshit where you stand. I don’t care if the Astros are full of Latinos, you stand.
