- Welcome to Episode 7 of Blow Out The Cobwebs.
This episode we travelled all the way up to the Scottish Borders to spend a couple of days at the Aero Leather Clothing factory in Galashiels. Join us while I get my brand new Spring and Autumn jacket made up. From Deciding which jacket to go for in the showroom, to what kind of studs I want, to the final hand over on the Factory floor. This convinced me. Aero it is.
As an American I resemble that remark! My grandfather came from Scotland and having his family tartan inside a jacket just seems like a nice little reminder of the love and fond memories. Saving up for my first aero right now.

Just ordered the J106! Chestnut Badalassi. Now need to get the measurements right! I was considering the KOTR back but now not so sure. The default back looks great!

I worked at a pizza shot during my Masters at Durham University to buy an A2 jacket. I wore it on Royal Air Tatto.

the point is that I do love vintage style jackets, especially made from high (!) quality leathers. I am not the guy for some modish and nice jackets for every season. After 5 Aero Leathers (AL) jackets I have to say it is just the best product quality even in detail like a zipper, like a button or the lining …
The last jacket (“1950s College Jacket”) I ordered directly from AL via mail end of last year. No problem. I did my own measurements perfectly supported by Holly from AL. I want to say that also the people there live the claim of products and firm’s policy and subsequently help you best as possible. ONE person at AL is responsible for the entire production, the genisis of your jacket. You will get or find a “who-made-me” notice in your new jackets' pockets.
Additionally from my point of view AL has a reasonable price-performance ratio and ecological approach. No matter intentionally or not.
@ SCHOTT: okay, we can find a PERFECTO jacket with a great history sine 1928. A classic and great jacket. But I see toooooo much of those odd people with SCHOTT jackets in general (SCHOTT Bomber) and this PERFECTO. Unfortunately especially with the PERFECTO - or at least in a very, very “cheap/low quality” and ugly copy from hell for EUR 55. It is ridiculous and a disgrace for that jacket. Although AL has some 3 jackets of that PERFECTO style understandably I will never buy that jacket style. Additionally I am too old for that 😊.
People will see you on the street and recognize the AL jacket without any brand name on the chest or the arm.
But I would never say that SCHOTT has a bad quality or something. I just do not buy or wear it. And referring to non-leather bomber jackets I preferred e.g. will PIKE BROTHERS over SCH!OTT. Take a look at the cool and awesome “1957 Zip Jacket Elephant Skin”. Very interresting piece.
I hope I could help you. You must check whether there is a place in your city offering AL-jackets. Please go there and try it. It will be convincing …

I live in NZ but grew up in Gala. I always drop in to Aero when I'm back. Kept it down to two jackets. So far...

I just love my Route 66. CFXCQHH in Cordovan, the amount of comments I get is unbelievable. A visit to the factory is an experience, been a few times now for my jacket, a pair of Jarrow boots, my partners jacket and for an open day, the lovely smell hits you as you walk in and the people are so nice and welcoming. Its a long way from Bournemouth to Galashiels but worth the journey.

So cool! I'm in the U.S. and had a custom 1930s halfbelt made in 2018! The tag is signed by Julie. Now I have a face to the name. Amazing quality! And yeah, I love my blue tartan lining lol.

I have a pair of Aero horsehide jeans, left over from when I was a regular passenger on my girlfriends bike.
I wear them every year when we burn the stubble and the sparks and embers have never damaged the leather. Even on the occasion that I had to run across knee high flames to get to the other side of the fire when the wind changed direction and we had to beat the fire out.
Fantastic video. I've wanted an Aero for years now and the video made me crave one again. I have already a Flat Head, Fine Creek, iron heart and Schott but a FQHH is still on the list. I wish I could just visit the factory like you did.

Dude that Jacket is Sick! Great Video . Me myself would never get a jacket like that since I don’t ride a motorcycle. Have an aero brown highway horse leather jacket . Kinda hard to break but you know what quality is when you smell and touch the jacket ! Great company

What size is your board racer? I know because of the cut and fit the sizes could be different. I have a 44 board racer they did not fit me. But a 44 bootlegger fits me well. So annoying

Hi! I just am doing my research on the highway man leather jacket ( wanting to do the premier highwayman because of the trimmer fit. I have a specific question- the jacket youre wearing at 2 minutes and 09 seconds with the color, what grain is that? horse, goat, cowhide? Thanks so much! Im wanting to get that jacket in SEAL ( dark dark brown?) goatskin, ( I think. haha )
