  • HOW TO SPIN - Coreless Supercoil ART YARN - Using a auto wrapped single.
    Last week I shared how to spin the Auto Wrapped Single and this week I am spinning new mini batts from auto wrapped single to Coreless Supercoil ART Yarn.
    So if this technique is of interest then please enjoy this Free tutorial.
    This is not coreless corespun for the 1st step it's auto wrapped single ply.
    Most will do coreless corespun first and then supercoil but I find it's way too tedious for the same if not nicer looking full and clean coils when using a single ply to supercoil. And I love thinking outside the box and ways to make my job faster.
    Please give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it, share it if you'd like and subscribe if you'd like to support my channel. I hold giveaways for every 100 subscribers :) next will be 600 subs so happy watching :)

    What an absolute joy to find your video, so clearly spoken, and no background nonsense, I loved it!! Have been trying to decide all day whether to buy this spinner, you have made my mind up for me, thank you!! I already have a Joy2 and EEW 6 😊

      I do like the size of the Ashford Super Jumbo E-Spinner but if I got to choose again I would go a Jumbo with the lazy kate and extra bobbin. This one came with 1 bobbin and Carry bag only and the bobbins cost roughly $80 or so each.
      The Super Jumbo fits up to a kilo on it and the Jumbo fits 500g I will never fill the Super Jumbo.
      Thanking you also for your lovely comment and enjoying my video :) I have many tutorials on my channel if you are not yet a subscriber please do follow me :) I try to put out a spinning video every week or 2 depends on the difficulty of the spin.

      @@josparadiseofcolor thanks for your reply. It appears that the Jumbo isn’t available from any of the UK suppliers, only the smaller e spinner ( bobbins hold 235gms or the super jumbo) The cost of the super jumbo bobbins was one thing making me hesitate, here they are £64!

      @@lizpurvis3478 i just ball the yarn into my hand after the single and then put it into a basket to ply. You really don't need a second bobbin.

    • @josparadiseofcolor
      @josparadiseofcolor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was the same for years dreaming of new wheels. I started with an ashford traditional travelor and spun on that one for years till she started to die on me. So I took the plunge and bought this one I wanted a large bobbin but with my legs and back problems I couldn't go a country spinner its quite bulky. Would of been slightly cheaper but I'm so pleased I chose the electric wheel. Its saved me quite allot when my legs give me issue and I can always have content for the channel. I also invested in a new wheel so I could still make the finer yarns.
      I recommend saving for a wheel you really want. I put some money aside from my sales till I can afford new equipment 😀

    Hello Jo, I just came across your channel. Your art yarns are really beautiful. Well, I am German and I am not a very experienced spinner although I tried a couple of art yarns. I must have been lucky. They turned out pretty good. The title of this video kinda puzzled me. At the end I realized it was probably a language problem.
    The word "coreless" got me confused. 🙈😉
    I saw you using a core yarn for the super coils. You did a coreless single yarn. I got it straight now. 😉
    Well I am having some serious health issues I am spinning less and less... May I ask you what "wheel" you are spinning with?
    I am looking for solutions for my health Problems.
    Plus another question...
    Are you using the E-spinner/ powered wheel only for art yarn or are you also using it for fine/thin yarns?
    I am not looking for cheap/quick solutions, I would rather try to save money to find a solution which will carry me through the next years.
    Your answer would be highly appreciated.
    Much love from ice cold Germany.
    🤗🤗🤗

    • @josparadiseofcolor
      @josparadiseofcolor  ปีที่แล้ว

      My biggest appolagie I only just found your comment...
      Welcome 😊 In this yarn the coreless part is the first part. The single normally to make supercoil you start with a core spun single spinning the fiber onto a core yarn/thread. I've just skipped that part which IMO make a nicer and more solid finish and you don't have the core showing through.
      My wheel I'm using is the Ashford Super Jumbo E-Spinner, I would recommend and if I could change my purchase I would of gone the jumbo E-spinner instead as it comes with a lazy kate and 1 extra bobbin for similar price. You would becable to do both thin & chunky art yarns as it holds up to 500g, unlike the super jumbo which holds 1kilo. I'll never be able to fill it!.
      I also replaced my Ashford traditional travelor wheel (this is a fantastic little wheel for all lvls but I'd recommend getting double pedal and new) I used one for 10years and developed allot of issues as it was a single pedal. My new wheel is a Majacraft Rose wheel however everyone hypes them up the being the best for posture correctness I find the pedals & the fact its solid wood, hard and painful... I needed to get pedal padding & can't sit for too long. I get soo sore and its double pedal so now I'm making my left leg do some work lol.
      If I had the money I would of gone a spinolution wheel as they are portable and haveca decent size bobbin for art yarns but I'm not a fan of the toe pedals. However I think they also have an electric one.

      @@josparadiseofcolor Hello Jo, you don"t have to apologize.
      All good, 😉
      Thank you for your answer.
      My wheel is a Maja Alpaca, I love it dearly. I love everything I can do with it. I can do thick and thin, I can do art yarn, It handles everything I want.
      I always had two pedals. I started with an Ashford "Kiwi". That wheel was great for me as a beginner. Soon after I bought the Maya and I was thrilled. 😉
      Peddaling with my Wheel is absolutely easy WITHOUT SERIOUS HEALTH PROBLEMS. Pedals are working like a swiss watch. "nice, easy,smooth, and on the dot.
      Thank you very much for your answer and your honesty.
      I will have to find an e-spinner if things are going on like they do. ...

    I've always made my coil yarns with a core spun single..but I'm not really sure why?! are there any mean reasons why you would opt for a chunky single versus a core spun single and vice versa? I'm struggling to see the difference.

    • @josparadiseofcolor
      @josparadiseofcolor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The difference is I love making supercoils but I couldn't afford the core thread to make the core spun single. I didn't want to miss out and so started making a single ply to make supercoil instead then found that the coils are more solid and you don't have the core yarn sticking through. I also found a core spun supercoil was allot weaker then the coreless. So now this is how I do it.
      I do still love how fun core spinning is though. It's just the worry about how and where I was getting the core yarn.

    • @sarahfrancis5975
      @sarahfrancis5975 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @josparadiseofcolor
      @josparadiseofcolor  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sarahfrancis5975 thats why I love to think outside the box :) they give off different effects though.
      Corespinning is easier to get uneven chunky sections and is more like glazing the core yarn.
      Single is more of an even and cleaner single.
      I'd say it depends on what results your after.

  • @TheKnittingTexan
    @TheKnittingTexan 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So your plying thread (the inside of the coil) is over spun, but the way you tie it off keeps you from loosing the supercoils? I’ve made a couple of super coils and the core plying thread gets overspun. 😢

    • @josparadiseofcolor
      @josparadiseofcolor  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1st part is like a super chunky single and then the single is coiled around the plying thread. Its a much nicer finish.
