    Great vlog guys.
    I think the next caliber in the 6 lug mountain/safari rifle should be 9.3mm x 62mm mauser.
    Don’t re-invent the wheel and its available world wide.
    What a bear gun that would be and Africa would except it.

      I am also a huge fan of the 9.3x62 Mauser.
      I inquired about a custom chambering on the Vanguard platform, and to Weatherby's credit responded via e-mail "we are not currently building custom chambering on the Vanguard platform, thank you for your inquiry". So.... I'm looking for a Vanguard in 30-06 to have re-chambered to 9.3x62 by a gunsmith in Oregon whom I purchased a Model 111 Savage from some years back. The model 111 is an absolute tack driver and my confidence is high in Jes's work. I just love my 257Wby Vanguard 2 and can only hope for the same 'feel' and reliability I'm used to with both of my Vanguard rifles!

    I think a 7mm RPM would be a good cartridge. Cartridges like the .280 AI are really popular with backcountry hunters, so maybe necking that 6.5 RPM to 7mil would create a slightly snappier .280 but would not create all the extra weight a 7mm rem mag has.

    • @ryanscott1316
      @ryanscott1316 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like it, but.. how many 7s do we need? .280 AI or 7 Rem. probably won't be impressively improoved... 7 PRC?

    • @brockboening
      @brockboening ปีที่แล้ว

      How many 30s or 38s or 6.5s do we need?, a lot of people would tell you all you need is a 30-06. The more the merrier. A lot of people say that but let’s be honest, we all love debating which cartridge is the best just as much as we love going out and shooting them.

    This needs to be offered in the vanguard weather guard model. Tons of guys want to own a weatherby 338 rpm but can't n will never be able to afford a mark v. Your leaving piles of business on the table if this isn't ifferd on the vanguard line

    This cartridge sounds fun. Moderate 338 cartridges are usually very efficient. With those moderate velocities, don't count out the traditional softer cup/core bullets such as the 230 ELD-X or 215 Sierra. The 200 Accubond and 210 Scirocco II may be a really good matches for this new cartridge also.

    Could you please make this caliber available in the Vanguard? If the vanguard can handle 300wby it can handle this I would imagine. At the very least make it a custom shop option.

    I'm a lefty and already have the Ruger Hawkeye 338RCM. It's basically an blue and walnut shorter rifle with 338win mag type performance. Truth is that it's almost cookie cutter the same performance as this new 338 from Weatherby and that's an great place to be. I know it smashes elk and bears handily.
    Ruger screwed the pooch marketing their excellent 338RCM and its a dead dodo at this point. Don't let that happen to this new 338 Weatherby.

    NOT related to the 338 RPM….BUT, would love it if you guys came back out with a Mark V Euromark! Either a special edition or custom shop. The non-gloss wood w/ a brushed or non gloss stainless barrel/action…..I would buy in a heartbeat.

      Sure they will make an entire line again to sell 1 rifle. Everyone wants cerakote and carbon fiber today. The euro mark isn't a money making platform. That's why it's gone. That's what I love bout weatherby. They run the fuk outa things that work and people actually buy. And they drop the ones that don't really fast. Great way to stay relevant and keep the profit high. Smart guy Adam is

    Can you please load the 215 sierra bt??? It would be an absolutely amazing deer, antelope, moose and elk bullet. I’m guessing you It could load between 3000 - 3100 fps. I have used them in the 338 win mag and they are absolute hammers on Canadian moose and white tails. Please consider. Bonded bullets are not always the best option. Sierras jacket on the 215 is much thicker than most 225gr bullets and produces the same penetration as any 225 - 250 gr bullet. I have personally given the Texas heart shot to two Canadian moose and the 215 sierra was found in the front brisket - what more can you ask??? As well I have shot Canadian white tails and Mulies with minimal meat damage with the 215 sierra. Very excited to purchase my first 20” backcountry, if you can load the 215 gameking I guarantee that I will not have to hand load for it. I absolutely love weatherby and all of your products. God bless

    The 340 needs a fast round. The 338 Winmag has a 160 gr @ over 3200 fps mv. How fast could a 340 shoot that 160 gr?

    But I do believe the 6.5 300 is a barrel burner, isn't it? I don't know, yet! It's a fair question. But I dont know if the 6.5 rpm is the 6 5 300.
    I like the 7mm (.284 cals) much better then the 6.5's. Personally, a 7mm rpm would be more my passion then the 6.5 rpm. I also believe it would be more bang, for the buck in 7mm.

    Had to keep up with all the other stuff, in my opinion guys are wanting a short action rifle with magnum type numbers...the 6.8 Western takes the cake, slow start as me and others laughed at it until we saw the numbers and realized it was an updated .270 WSM I really do like the .338 caliber and the rifle its a nice set up and people are getting good groups with them too! Great for animals out West! Most people have their magnums and don't care much about paper poppers. If Im going .338 Im going to the .338 Norma Magnum the special forces round its penetrating 1 inch of steel at 1500 yards it's a monster

    Perfect round for B.C, pretty excited about the left hand versions coming out! It does suck being very left eye dominant and not having a lot of choice for light weight mountain guns. Far too many wood stocked guns that just don't work great in our wet brushy country here. Loving the idea of shorter barrels too!
