This rifle and this cartridge are a true contender for a one rifle battery to cleanly kill any NA big game. Weather by really has something with this set up!
Really looking forward to what the real world velocities are from the 18" barrel. It certainly is shooting well. Hard to imagine a better rifle for brushy country that can still shoot a long ways out!
I have a 33806Ackley Improved. IT weighs 6.7 lbs ready to go with 2-8 LEUPOLD up. Ballistics almost the same as the RPM. I HAVE TAKEN ALL OF AMERICAN BIG GAME FROM BROWN BEAR TO ANTELOPE WITH IT. PERFORMANCE ON GAME IS STELLAR WITH VERY MANAGEABLE RECOIL. 😀👍👍
Absolutely love my 340 Weatherby. Installed a custom lightweight fibreglass stock, it weighs 8lbs scoped and loaded. With 210gr ttsx at 3185fps it is deadly and recoil is still manageable. I have been dreaming of a rifle set up exactly like the rifle in the video. Thank you
A fine looking tool, glass, bing bang, mounts and all make for a good tool for slinging boo lots. No matter what we use we should all remember we are on the same team. Range, hunting or home defense, shooters are all on the same side. Lift each other up and make it harder for the anti people to come in. Thanks again WTW for all you do. 🎥💪🏽💯👍🙏🏻
Suprising how well tuned that factory ammo is for it. Its a bit technical but if you can take a spent round and seat in .338 of some kind with some loctite blue and chamber it, be verry careful not to bump or drop it extracting it. Measure the ogive with a bullet comparator and then take the same measurement on your factory ammo.. You may be pleasantly surprised in the quality and precision of these actions. I did this process with a 300PRC bergara premiere to start my hand loading process and was amazed to see that the factory 212gr. Hornady ELD-X ammunition was within .002 of the lands.. Looks like it shoots well with the factory ammo! Watching you shooting from both the Caldwell and the rest you had at 10 yards you can really see a difference in stability between the 2 of them. Pretty sure your 100 yard group would be even better with that one, IE second shot you could see the Caldwell moving left/right quite a bit when you were settling down to shoot. What is the manufacturer of the rest you used at 10 yards?
I enjoy seeing videos about different rifles and cartridges. For me, I'll stick to my Springfield and .30-06 because I am used to it. If I ever get another rifle, it will be when I can afford Africa and get something more appropriate like a .416 Rigby for a one-rifle battery.
Shouda mentioned. At any range you have any business shooting at game, I was told that trajectory for 220 grain roundnose from .30-06 and 400 grain roundnose from .416 Rigby is roughly comparable.
Over the years I've learned that felt recoil is more dependent on the platform than the cartridge. I have a 28 Nosler that feels significantly softer than one of my .308s, and the Nosler package is 2lbs lighter.
My old Remington Model 4 .270 wasn't a problem as far as weight back in '86 when I bought it (I was 18). That rascal get heavier every year as I get older (now nearly 55!). But, I still love it.
You make it look so easy. Throw it up there and bang... half inch group. Great video. Looking forward to velocity/energy video as well as some long range plinking. Doing well brother. Keep it up.
Great video and rifle Adam! Love my Mk-5 Deluxe .300 Wby., but this new Hunter in .338 RPM has me stoked to get one! Dying to see more videos of it! 😁❤️👍
If I had $2500+ for a Mark V, I might have to go for this one. I want a 257 Wby pretty bad, but this might take the top spot for a Weatherby for me. More POWER 💪🏻😎🇺🇸
just got my WBY vangaurd sporter in 30.06 last thursday waiting for my scope. the triger on the WBY is so much nicer light and crisp than my Thompson center compass
I've owned German Mark V Weatherby mags, .224 thru .300 since the early 1970s...best rifles (though expensive, esp. ammo lately) but they are the best IMHO...
Kinda wish Weatherby wouldn’t have put SUCH a short barrel on that rifle, which basically takes it down below 35 Whelen ballistics. A 22” barrel still would have been plenty light, but would produce true .338 Win Mag ballistics.
Whoteewhoo can you do a video on Imr white hots the preformed Powder charges for the inline 50 muzzle loaders ..im sure maybe of your subscribers do both rifle an muzzle loader season an these preformed Powder charges would be nice to see velocities and accuracy
Gorgeous gun brother!! I’ve had 3 custom rifles built and bought a weatherby backcountry in 338 lapua and man it makes me feel dumb for every spending the money on full custom. Those things shoot!! Congrats on the beauty and look forward to more vids as always!!!
I'm curious what the recoil would be like against the 35 Whelen??? It looks very manageable. 🤔 I don't see what the big kerfuffle is about??? I'd like to see it vs a big bison like you took earlier!!!😯😯😯
I stand corrected, you still have all your teeth and no black eye. Recoil really looks manageable, kinda like a 3006 or so. Looks like a excellent big game rifle.
Yes not for me but you nailed it again for seting it in. But I like you cap but in in South Africa it will cost a little bit more for me. But ya keep on shooting.
I prefer 100 as well since I can dial a ballistic solution easily for any distance. What is the muzzle velocity of that cartridge? The only WBY I ever shot was a &mm WBY Magnum and it kick like a mule, it had a 26 inch barrel did not have a muzzle break. It was not mine, I was just sighting it for a rookie with more money than common sense. It only took three shots to hit dead center at a 100 yards. I passed back to him and told him "now enjoy a broken shoulder". I don't think he kept it.
Do you do anything to break in the barrel, or do you just take the brand new rifle to the range and start sighting in? I got into the habit of cleaning the barrel after every shot for the first 10 and then start sighting in the optic.

Same here, along with long range shooting (500yds) maybe farther. Might be my new elk round!
I handled one of these impressive rifles at the Portland sporting show early this year; what a piece of work! Light and highly evident quality.
I just got myself a Mark V weatherby in 416, honestly the nicest shooting rifle i have. The included muzzle brake works so well!
Awesome

I have a 338-378 and with the factory Weatherby muzzle brake installed my wife shoots it without any problem. She loves range day. And loves to shoot.

I’ll be going to the mountains of Wyoming for some hunting and I think I would love to carry a 338 WBY Rpm. Anyway, so excited for this vid!
Good luck!

You could do it!
Pretty sweet looking and performing rifle ! Didn't appear to have a lot of recoil. Got my interest up for tomorrow's video.
I love this Weatherby, Thanks for all you do.. :)
I love it too! Thanks for watching!
love a 338👍 very nice groups & confident booster target results 🍻👍
💪💪
I’ve Been looking to buy a carbon hunting rig and man… that one is sweet. Awesome content as always. Cheers from BC Canada
Great video buddy look forward to some more on this load
Stay tuned
Think I found my new favorite rifle and setup. Thanks for the video.
I’m liking what I see! It’s a keeper indeed good groups love it ! Thanks YOU much appreciated for all you do for us poor old country boys !
Appreciate you watching Gary
Look forward to ya getting more weatherbys

I need a 300 wby!
@@WHOTEEWHO wanna trade? LOL! The .300 Wby. is awesome. 180 gr. Hornady and 165 gr. TTSX in the same 1/2” hole at a hunnert. 😁👍

@@WHOTEEWHO yes the Death Ray is on the top 5 Wish List, even if it was in a Vanguard I would not care. 😎💥🦌🥩
@@TheWVgoodguy22 me too
A buddy has a Vanguard in .257 Wby. and it shoots 1/2” bugholes. Lightning drops on deers. I want one too LOL!
You will not regret the .257!
Nice rifle , love the camo pattern 👍
Love it
Great liking Weatherby. I still like their old school wood stock.😅
I snagged up a Accumark in 338 RPM. Ive only shot 225 Hornady so far. I have 225 ttsx we will give them a try someday.
Great shooting like always, Ive watched you shoot and sight in other stuff you do it exactly how I do it and how its supposed to be done!
Appreciate you watching Mike

It looks like a nice light rig that can do the job
Nice rifle great groups. Good luck and good hunting.

When do we get to see some chronograph numbers? Really interested to see speeds out of that 18 inch barrel.
Stay tuned
Loved it😍
❤❤ weatherby !!
Very nice looking rig good job thanks
that rifle is a beauty.
The scope is way overkill on a light weight rifle. If the velocity is where they say that thing will be an amazing deer rifle.
If you had to pick one budget rifle , caliber and bullet to hunt whitetail deer in the south , which one would it be ?
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Ralph
That camo pattern is awesome!! Nice rig 👍🏼👍🏼
Weatherby still and will always make the best hunting rifles.
🦌🦌🦌
@@WHOTEEWHO you need a carbon mark or backcountry 2.0 carbon now
Lol you clearly haven't shot a Christensen, Seekins, Fierce, and other high dollar custom rifles lol what a funny comment

i mean the lead sled is probably taking that recoil before your shoulder actually gets it. I have not shot this cartridge though so who knows
I would like one. Great video
Wow that's awesome ✌️
Thanks for the video. Good shooting.
Thanks for watching Dwayne
Think you will want to switch to the Talley mount/ring, top loading perspective. That one piece rail can be annoying with big fingers
I disagree. Rail allows for longer ranges
Very nice looking rifle sir.
I’d call that “nailin’ a sight in!”
Nice rifle and accurate great video 👍👍
Very silky action,,,,smooth,,,,nice,,,,
Where you get TC hat at who tee ?? Love watching your videos my friend 🙏💪🏼
Beautiful rifle. I wish the ammo weren't so dang expensive.
so you don't clean the new barrel between shots for the first few rounds ?
My guess velocity will be between a 338 Federal maybe the top end close to the 338 out six
338 and 270 are my favorite calibers I had 338 win and 270 win sold those and bought 270 weatherby and 340 weatherby
Nice dude!! 🇺🇸
For the price of a Weatherby, it ought to feed smoothly! 😉
I stand corrected, you still have all your teeth and no black eye. Recoil really looks manageable, kinda like a 3006 or so. Looks like a excellent big game rifle.
Nice job wtw 👍👍
👍👍
Awesome!
Might tighten up after a box
Very cool looking gun
Tallys are awesome i have em on all myhunting rifles
I have a 300 wby mag ….hope the ammo for that is not to bad lol . The Weatherby ammo cost is my only complaint
Nice 👍🏼 rifle. Can’t wait to see more videos.

WTW! 🤘🏻 it’s been a minute, hope you’re doing well. How would you compare that to the .338 lapua?
It should feed like a dream for the price. Id love to have one but looks like the vanguard is more my budget.
Can you do a video on 270wsm
WtW! I'll wave as I drive by! 😂 Going through your stomping grounds tomorrow!

Nice
Really Nice shooting rifle 👍
That 1st 3 shot group looked like the bullets might have keyholed?
Paper just not tight
I hate the rail on my 300wby vanguard. Have leupold backcountry rings and rail. Its a challenge getting those fat rounds into the magazine
