Thanks for watching! We hope you enjoyed the video! There are definitely some Bronze Age books that have already ascended outside of some collectors' budgets (Hulk 181, Werewolf By Night 32, Amazing Spider-Man 129, etc), but what Bronze Age comic would you give an honorable mention to? My vote: Tomb of Dracula #1!
I collect what I like and occasionally my faves line up with general fandom! I was at my LCS when a guy sold a stack of Bronze age mags, among them was a complete set of RIMA THE JUNGLE GIRL, who once appeared on the Super Friends! I told the store owner I wanted them all! Why? Because I'm a fan of Nestor Redondo's artwork and Joe Kubert's covers!
That’s a great list of Bronze Age Comics! While you’re educating folks, it would be a good time to define the terms, ie: Bronze Age, Silver Age, Modern, when it comes to comics. But a great list and I really like that you give the comic’s writers/authors and publication dates, and give them the credit they deserve. It’s good content and many like myself love the information. I think you’ve a great chance of turning some folks on to comics that may have missed the train growing up, or don’t know anything outside of whichever Marvel Blockbuster or DC Disappointment is hitting the movie theaters this year. But again, you’re doing great, and I really like the content you put out!
Thanks for watching Arun! Bronze has really taken off in the last couple of years. If you haven’t seen them already, I would point you toward our Top 10 for $20, $50 and $100 budget videos. They’re due for an update, but have some good options, even if some of the prices have I creased since the videos’ initial release.
You’ve got it Brad! If it’s 80s/90s and you want it, but don’t have it: start chasing it now. If you’re looking for investment books be sure to go all out with CGC/CBCS 9.8s! That is where your best growth will be realized.
Awesome list and honored to own them all in my PC. This era was always on my list when I started collecting. So went hard and fast for these a few years back. Was even lucky enough to get multiple copies of alot of those books. And I'd also recommend any of those books. Great job as always. :)
Thank you Jesse! Congrats on going 10 for 10! Bronze Age was a lot easier get 5+ years ago. I remember my first Werewolf By Night 32! Bought it for for about $15 in 2012. Same copy would be $600-700 today. 😭

Hey Jam Sessions! That’s a great topic! Probably one I could use some help in myself! I’ll put it in the list for sure! Thanks for watching and I’m glad you’re getting value out of the content!

Welcome to the hobby Eric and thanks for watching! I would recommend watching our Collector or Investor video first thing! Determine if you’re here for your enjoyment of the hobby as a collector or if you are primarily interested in comics as and investment. I’m going to give you the worst best advice I can, because it is different for everyone and for every book, but applies to every situation: Buy the nicest or highest grade copy you can afford. I am not a collector that is hung up on extremely high condition, I would much rather have one of everything, than the best of anything, but I do fully acknowledge that on 1st appearances or other key issues that there is a correlation: the higher the grade/higher the value, the more likely it is to appreciate at a faster pace than lower grade copies.
That’s great Torri! I’m still looking for the right Werewolf By Night 32. I’ve had a couple of lower grade ones, but I’m hoping to wind up with an 8.5 or better, so it’s going to hurt! Good luck with landing GSX1!
Just found your channel and I liked, subbed, and rang the bell. I've never bought a comic before or at least for a few decades. I've been watching some reveals fir the last few weeks and have been thinking about buying a few key or mega-key books to diversify some investments. Since I could not grade a book myself I will probably be buying graded books instead of raw. Have been thinking 9.8's of things like Amazing Spiderman #252, Spawn #1 News stand (I know that's wrong but I forget...lol), etc.. Also been thinking about keys from lines like Star Wars, GI Joe, Transformers, etc. in addition to the more standard superheroes. Been researching for a few weeks, and not sure of the direction I want to go in. You put Giant Size X-Men as a must buy. What would be your #2 must buy book? It could be from any category. What I am trying to figure out is if I want to semi-speculate with a bunch of more modern CGC 9.8's of $100-$300 keys. Maybe go with a few less books but buy more around the $500 range. Probably willing to go up to $1000, but more comfortable with lower unless it was something like Batman - Superman type franchise that will be around forever. Doing my homework 1st, but a little direction is always helpful. I'm looking forward to seeing you future videos. Stay safe and thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching! If you’re purely looking to invest my best advice would be to buy the nicest copy of a Silver Age or Bronze Age key that you can. Your risk is lower with the older, more established books. Fantastic Four is hot right now. FF48 is on fire. FF52 is going to continue to climb, especially with another movie on the horizon. X-Men keys are also worth looking into. X-Men 12, X-Men 14, Giant Size 1. Spending $1k on the nicest GS1 you can find is a great long term hold. That said, if you do wind up investing 80s, 90s or newer books, you absolutely have to go with 9.8s if investment is your primary focus.
Mostly for investment, but you still need to like what your buying. I'm more into vintage personality.and will look into those books. There's just so much cool stuff out there I keep getting pulled in different directions. Thanks for the quick reply. CU at the next video

You’re very welcome! Marvel Spotlight is another tough one. They don’t pop up all that often and they sell extremely fast when I get them. Tough in high grade with that black picture frame cover. Trading up is a great way to build or improve your collection! You can do it!
thanks for all the info. aside from the Oneil/Adams combo for the Batman and the Joker cover...what's making this book popular? all those things I just mentioned?
The story begins to shift the Joker character away from the goofy Cesar Romero Joker that was prominent in the mid-late 60s over to the firmly psychotic madman we all know and love. But, it’s mostly just a great cover.
Great list. I have most of the comics on it. Just need the Batman ones. I picked up most of the others because they were comics I always wanted since I was a kid and now can finally afford to buy them.
Hey Kris! I can say for sure that a $50 list is on our list. I like your suggestion about a modern video though! I’m more of an older back issue guy, so I’m going to have to do some studying!
I like that you’re giving credits for the books, but there are some mistakes I’d like to correct. Luke Cage has Romita for a cover artist and probable costume design, but the interiors were done by George Tuska. House of Secrets was an anthology book and contained multiple stories. While Gerry Conway wrote one of the stories in 92, the story of note (Swamp Thing) was written by Len Wein. Tomb of Dracula had a cover by Gil Kane but the interiors were by Gentleman Gene Colan.
ASM129 has already already advanced beyond the budget of most collectors. I put it in the same grouping as Hulk 181, Werewolf by Night 32, etc. Conan is a good suggestion, but as it currently has a higher value and is arguably more in the spotlight than All-Star Western, I give the edge to All-Star. Particularly from the perspective of largest potential for growth. No doubt that it is certainly a book that would have been included in the conversation given a larger list.
@Cooper Hoover at least you were able to make some profit and use it for what matters! 👍🏼 Btw I have 2 of the 10 he showed...MSL 5 and TOD 10 at above mid grade...hopefully I won’t have to part with them anytime soon.
