      check out the OSCA02...they're almost identical those two...go for the best priced one...
      I recommend buying the "plain" ones, with NO suffix ...for example NO " OSCA02M or OSC2002M "...in this case the "M" stands for a CHINA oriented flavor of Android support.
      The "plain" versions will run LOTO Windows software and you can get HScope Android support separately from the Play Store later if you so desire.

      Hey Martin. Are there plans on getting support for this device with your hscope software? If so, any time frame in mind? I am interested in using the extra bandwidth and sample rate with this model rather than whats available with the OSC482 and OSC802. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this project.

    Not really sure but for the other models like 482 and so I had learned that you can add all the options afterwards that easy especially the logic analyzer. In one of the loto official store offers they mentioned that purchasing the logic module later would NOT WORK unless you ship the unit you have back to the manufacturer - I guess for a firmware update.
    And that made me think twice cause there are usually for the 482 and osca02 about 7 models available where you can not be sure that purchasing it would mean that it works. The signal generator S01 for osc482 is working without any update, later you had told me that on all the models the right otg adapter would let hscope work so there is no need to get the osc482M or even osc482F cause I wanted to get the Logic Analyzer and therefore would have been forced to get the 127€ model F instead of a model L for 80€ and 12€ hscope licence.
    But of cause if your logic module is working out of the box or maybe you had gotten it from a different one like the osca02L then at least the OSC2002 has no firmware protection and works with any logic analyzer (compatible one) I guess.
    Or did you get the OSC2002L cause I already found different versions like
    OSC2002 for 121€,
    OSC2002M for 152€ (basicly an otg adapter + hscope licence for 31€)
    OSC2002L for 144€ for the logic analyzer one.
    But I can not find the offer or link where they had said that the unit has to be shipped back to get the Logic module running cause a later purchase alone would not do the trick. But I have ordered a OSC482L to stay on the safe side and get at least Logic module support and hope for the android support so that I can buy the app from Marin via google store.
    thx

      OSC482L bundles the logic analyzer cables. To my knowledge, the oscilloscope is no different than "plain" OSC482

    could you do a video of a comparison with all your scopes using a clamp-on amp tool to measure relative compression test, i,m still working on noise problems w/1008

    • @theGADGETSplaylist
      @theGADGETSplaylist  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      +henry robinson - I'm not sure that would make for much of a video, Henry...
      The HT1008 noise you're referring to...is it along the lines of what I discuss in GADGETS#17?
      th-cam.com/video/T3rbQ5Pm1YI/w-d-xo.html
      If so, not much can be done about that...it's a noisy scope; that's it 😐
      That's the thing the two LOTO oscilloscopes I've featured have really impressed me. And those HS10x scopes we build here are quiet too. But both HANTEK are "noisy". Still very usable and still amazing technology at that price but noisier than I'd like.
      That said, the relative compression test with amp clamp is very easy and well within the capabilities of your HT1008. There's a learning curve to this stuff...but I'm sure you'll get there my friend.

    Thanks for the video.
    Wondering how OSC2002 compares to Owon VDS1022I. Not by paper specs, but in real-world use, and when comparing only hardware properties and not the ones artificially boosted by a computer (which has unlimited disk memory).
    Price-wise OSC2002 costs 25 EUR more than VDS1022I. Is it worth it?
    At least, VDS1022I has USB isolation, which makes it more "fool-proof".
    I'm a hobbyist, working on occasional projects (Arduino, Raspberry) and also home device repairs (audio/TV), and have no space to keep a proper bench scope on my table. Also, I have impaired vision, so with USB scopes, I can zoom the image on the computer screen to make it easier for me to see.
    I wish there were full-featured USB alternatives to Rigol budget scopes for a lower price. USB scopes have no screen, no knobs, no complex firmware - should be cheaper right? But, unfortunately, it doesn't work that way in real life.

    • @theGADGETSplaylist
      @theGADGETSplaylist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OWON is noisy.
      Also consider software in choosing. LOTO has good software.
      The OSC2002 you're pricing here is near the top end of LOTO lineup. You might consider OSCA02 which is very close and better priced.
      And for $65 you can find OSC482 which is a very decent oscilloscope.
      Whichever you chose, I recommend you buy the version with no "suffix" attached to model number...just "plain"...
      Any of the above better than the OWON, IMO

  • @bosivain

    I'm really enjoying this content, right up my street I have a question does the performance of the tablet or pc that you use have an effect on the performance of the scope? thanks

    • @theGADGETSplaylist
      @theGADGETSplaylist  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The hardware is the hardware no matter if OSC2002 is with LOTO Windows or Android HScope.
      The ease of trigger, capture and features like labels, 720 overlays, markers, file saving and sharing, display quality, mobility and more make HScope the better software.
      I've come to appreciate the memory depth of this oscilloscope. It is basically the same as the new A02 (HScope recognizes 2002 as A02) so, whichever of the two models is cheaper...

    Denis was the sample rate too low on the 482 h scope screen shot...I was expecting a better capture

    • @theGADGETSplaylist
      @theGADGETSplaylist  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      there were 2 OSC482 screenshots:
      1) with LOTO Win10 software with a 2.4MSa/s rate and that was sharp. LOTO captures pages which get saved sequentially with page boundaries.
      2) HScope can capture at that high sample rate in SCOPE mode but will save 1 page buffer only.
      The screenshot shown was in AUTOMOTIVE mode which uses a streaming method without any page boundary. But the limit is 125KSa/s for this. Yes, something fast like CAN BUS doesn't get as well defined at that low sample rate, but IMO this is still clear enough to diagnose an issue according to car technician requirements. We are not trying to actually decode the CAN BUS where sharp square waves would be needed.

      OSC2002 has plenty of bandwidth for detailed CAN BUS waveforms with its 100 MSa/s sample rate.
      If you check this video at 5:50 and again at 8:10 you can see the excellent quality of that waveform. These were taken using the LOTO Win10 software.
