homework is cringe and is the sole reason i almost failed multiple times in high school, loving the stuff you're putting out!

I don't know how they had the audacity to encourage students to not only do extracurricular activities but *also* get part time jobs to help pay for college when they also treated potentially hours of homework as the norm.

also im gonna play devils advocate and bring out an argument for homework. (not that i am not your opinion, but its important to think about too) : Homework taught me as a Child to do things and spent time with things i do not inherently have the Motivation or Excitement for, which is part of life.

First, yeah, I've always had a sorta tired, melancholic side, and it's nice having an outlet for it!
Second, I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts! I'm setting out to start conversations and get people thinking, so I'm actually really happy seeing counter points!
I did briefly mention in the video that penalized homework may be necessary to motivate kids to try studying to begin with, but I feel like there could be alternatives. Even if homework does have that benefit, the volume definitely needs to be toned down.
On the wikipedia page for homework, it says, "Younger students who spend more time on homework generally have slightly worse, or the same academic performance, as those who spend less time on homework." Sadly, the citation is pay walled, so I can't double-check the study at the moment, but I think this shows that even if homework is potentially beneficial, the way most schools are doing it is wrong.

@@Professor-Preston Thank you so much for your answer!
I think it is hard to argue about the amount of homework since it varies a lot per country, type of school etc but i do have to agree , that it tends to be too much. My teachers told me that i will miss school and nah bruh, i worked longer than i do now so i do agree on that :)

Wow, that's super high praise! Thank you so much! I'm just having fun making these but I wouldn't mind millions of subs some day lol
