    For anyone struggling with threading the beads clear top coat nail polish on the end of the yarn and twist it tight while it dries. Leaves you with a nice solid thinner end on your yarn and makes it really easy to thread

      Super glue shaped to a point on the end works pretty good too.

    Hello Robin: I have crocheted baby blankets following your parents. Today, April 2023, I've located a tutorial on a beaded crochet bracelet. I will be making it for my sister. She's allergic to metals. Thanks for sharing your talents. God bless!

    Definitely my next project...☺️I have problems with beads too. I've collected through the years and still buy...😊😊 I love buttons too..These are cute. 💖😊 I think People use to use dental floss for looking. ☺️ Beaders And Crocheters can't have too many different size needles either...😊

    I’ve made four different bracelets since I watched the two days ago. Fun! I’m experimenting with yarns, threads, beads. The embroidery floss seems too thin so I’m going to try another one and double it over this time - 12 strands instead of six. Some beads have very small holes so I’m researching to see if there’s a way to know in advance what size hole is drilled. I took a knitting with beads class a few years ago and I think I remember that she said look for a specific bead number. I just don’t recall what the number was! But a super helpful hint from her - use dental threaders - just found in the grocery store near dental floss. They are super thin, super sturdy loops of plastic with a long “handle”. You put your yarn through the loop and use the long piece like a needle to pick up and thread your beads. It’s so thin, it doesn’t take up space like a needle but just as sturdy as dental floss. Very inexpensive considering how many you get and how long they last. Mine even came in a little plastic travel container. One pack will probably last the rest of my life!

    You shared your link on one of my Facebook posts, and im so glad that you did! I just watched the tutorial and I love it! I have some beads, but im thinking pro football and school colors may be a big hit. As always, I really enjoy your tutorials Robin.
    I hope you're feeling better with your empty nest and evil older body issues. 😊🤗
    Oh, I wanted to ask about 2 things but I forgot. What's your thoughts on putting glue on the outer tips of the yarn? Do you think 100% cotton would be better than a cotton mix?

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used a 2.5mm hook (or you could probably get away with a 3mm) for the embroidery floss! I hope that helps? Unfortunately it is too fine to show up on camera x

    Really pretty Robin! I will make one or two if I have beads left over from my latest version of your lotus flower blanket. I got small semiprecious stone beads in amethyst, black tourmaline and clear quartz to put on the last few rows of one i am making for my cousin and his new bride who is a Wiccan lady. I am making this blanket with the Lavenderlicious and Liquorice Yumyum Whirls with additional rows in the matching Whirlettes, Grappa and Liquorice. Cousin wanted "witchy" colours of purple, black, and white. It is turning out surprisingly well!

    Great technique! I just made one and it came out really cute. For USA viewers, I used sugar ‘n Cream cotton and 6.0 John Bead Czech seed beads. A little tight but it worked using a sewing needle and floss and a 3.5 mm hook. Love it - thank you for the easy to follow instruction!
