I plan to run for 2:00:35 minutes as a tribute to one of the greatest distance runners and his coach. Let’s make it a global tribute fam. 2/18/2024 #ripkitpum
Exactly how I feel, the 2hr mark is possibly the greatest barrier in any discipline in human history, it seemed just a matter of time before the greatest athlete we've ever seen would break it and he wasn't even near his prime yet - I doubt his record will fall in our lifetime, and when it does, I can't imagine it'll be done by a better athlete
Why Kenyans good people are selected to die firster than there evil one..and before enjoy her fruits work surely Kenyan's we are finished 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The best marathoner is dead. He could have been the first man to break the sub 2 hour marathon. I think the accident circumstances shall be investigated very thoroughly. Strange things happen in Kenya during recent times.
I think, given another 6 years of his prime, he would've easily shattered 2hrs and maybe even gone under 1.59 - we'll not see another like him in our lifetime, I don't think anyone else could break 2hrs even this century - primarily it's devastating for his family, but also for running as a whole, the chances are his record will still be standing when I die
very sad news, we don't know what happened exactly but i hope they will investagate the situation deeply, oh my god 24 years of age an he sill has a lot to give to marathons!
Yes, he has the power to achieve more if he got the chane to LIVE, especially when you look at how he progressed in the marathon! very sad news to all of us.
To an Athlete Dying Young BY A. E. HOUSMAN The time you won your town the race We chaired you through the market-place; Man and boy stood cheering by, And home we brought you shoulder-high. Today, the road all runners come, Shoulder-high we bring you home, And set you at your threshold down, Townsman of a stiller town. Smart lad, to slip betimes away From fields where glory does not stay, And early though the laurel grows It withers quicker than the rose. Eyes the shady night has shut Cannot see the record cut, And silence sounds no worse than cheers After earth has stopped the ears. Now you will not swell the rout Of lads that wore their honours out, Runners whom renown outran And the name died before the man. So set, before its echoes fade, The fleet foot on the sill of shade, And hold to the low lintel up The still-defended challenge-cup. And round that early-laurelled head Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead, And find unwithered on its curls The garland briefer than a girl’s.
They didn’t explain why he went off road. It was Saturday night so could be drunk driving who knows, but like he said there is more to the story that we don’t know
With his ridiculous training schedule and his elite talent, his athletic sponsor (Nike) should've been paying an expert driver to chauffeur him to wherever he needs and wants to be. It's so sad he died so young
This world is surely not our home. RIP champion .Really heartbreaking
Still can't believe it ,R.I.P brotha ,gone way to soon
Yes sure it's not our home, the real live is afterlife!

Why was he driving? There is clearly more to this story.

@@mayadexer2953 Hopefully Shazza can elaborate later on
I doubt he was drunk. He has an extreme focus on his health. His days consist of training, eating, and sleeping, and that's it (from what I've heard).
With his ridiculous training schedule and his elite talent, his athletic sponsor (Nike) should've been paying an expert driver to chauffeur him to wherever he needs and wants to be. It's so sad he died so young
He definitely wasn’t 24
Looks 40
You don't know what you're talking about, please shut up.
