@@agufish yeah I had a feeling it wasn’t done out of any sort of malice, it’s just something really hard to pull off I’d totally buy the Marshall head and cab here but could do without the rest of the pedals, sadly that’s not an option and I’m sure they’ve thought of that too
Only way I’ve pulled this off is by using Logic and opening up whatever plug-in I want and disabling the portions I don’t want to use. Works like a charm.
Could very well be, as I said I'm not familiar with Rage's dynamics at all lol. I figured it was a lower octave blended on the guitar because RATM's bass tone is fairly clean from what I was hearing.
Right? Adding a TS808 style pedal would have covered so much ground for people not into explicitly RATM type of tones. NDSP has a miss here with this plugin IMO.
Hi, I only have one Neural DSP plugin, it is the Soldano SLO-100. Very versatile, don't need anything much at this point except a real SLO 100W, of course
did you tried the other Plugins? The SLO is the most unversatile Plugin in their List 😅 Every Tone sounds the Same and the Time FX are 2D. Try Nolly if you want Versatile.

To me having one clean, one crunch, one rock and one metal on the same plug-in is great. Just like the real SLO in fact. I am unfortunately very quickly subject to option paralysis. Therefore, I ruled out the Petruci archetype because I found 3 amps, too overwhelming.
@@drdoom8793 EVH/Fender literally released the 5150 Iconic after his death. Neural DSP could easily release an Archetype featuring the 5150 III amps, the EVH cabs and EVH pedals.

Well im from Argentina so USD/Euro prices are kind of high for me sadly, so i've only purchased the Gojira plugin and its great, i have tested almost every other plugin like Petrucci's that one its also great, having the hability to traspose its awesome. But i really like the one from Gojira.
Yeah, I don’t agree with his political views. Like not at all… but we are just talking about a guitar plugin here and I like the sound of it. I could see it as a nice little “Swiss Army knife tool” you pull out for certain sounds. I think it sounds great and it’s going to be a purchase for me.
@@agufish didn't think of that but yeah that's a good idea. This is basically a pedal plug in and you can't use half of it if you don't have a expression pedal. The amp sounds ok though. I really wish they would do a archetype Matt pike.
So I’m kind of still new to this I still use amps and my question is what exactly type of program is this how do you use the guitar without the amp? Where do you plug into? Do I need a computer for these programs? Can anyone help thank you.
You need an audio interface that takes your guitar sounds into the PC. Ideally then have some monitor speakers that have a flat response but you can always tweak the eq otherwise. Tons of options out there for interfaces. Going to grab a Positive Grid Riff as works with my iPad and is good quality/compact but others also come with microphone inputs if you're that way inclined.

It sounds like he's running his 100W marshall through the built-in speaker from a late 90s/early 2000s Gateway laptop.
Midi expression pedal. It's Midi CC values, pretty easy to map and use. I think they have midi learn - so click the pedal, hit Midi Learn, move your pedal, good times.
I've seen rage 13 times. So I'm obviously a fan. But more of a fan of the band and the energy of a live show. Not so much of his guitar tone. I've also seen tool 21 times and a huge fan of Adam's tone. Waiting for the dsp Adam Jones for sure!
You know what comes to mind when I think of Tom Morello? A crazy artist that went to Harvard and then after that went on to play in one of the most awesome political bands of time, rage against the machine. I mean it says it right in the name. I loved every bit of it. And when I watched a little bit of Tom's Guitar Masterclass....it was really awesome. Not at all what I expected. He could have went the route of teaching you how to play the guitar technically, but instead it felt more like he was teaching you how to be an artist. Pretty cool outlook he has too. The man is jusy an overachiever all the way around and has managed to fool everyone into thinking he's a total slacker skater dude. Yeah, Harvard bruh. They don't accept slackers, just saying. And the cool part of it is, you can tell he's tye type that even though he has that education, he realizes that it wasn't even necessary for what he was trying to do. I wonder if there was ever any funny moments where the record company was trying to screw him on some contract or something he just casually called them out on their shit, without any type of lawyer there or anything. Just him. That would be priceless.
It must be so difficult doing one of these reviews while trying to remain sincere. No channel with a healthy, engaged following is going to embarrass themselves by complimenting Tom Morello's chops, so they're forced to praise him for his use of effects. 😄

I dunno about that. Tom Morello has one of the most unique approaches to guitar from a high-profile artist out there. Not to mention NDSP fans have been asking for more low-gain sounds to compliment their wide range of high-gain stuff. Obviously the normal metal crowd (like myself) were caught a little off guard but I wouldn’t go as far as “no one asked for this plugin”.
I’ll truly never understand the shine Morello gets, he’s a mediocre player at best that hides behind effects and people act like he’s some kind of genius.
He's a decent player that looked up to shred gods like Steve Vai when he first started, but his genius is in the way he uses effects. He approaches guitar as almost a percussionist than as a traditional guitar player. Check out the video he did with Fender for his signature strat, changed my outlook on him for sure.
He's not a technical wizard or anything but to say he's 'hiding behind effects' is patently absurd. For one, he has multiple acoustic records, why bother putting that out there if he's trying to 'hide' his playing. He's not masking some deficiency, he's creating... wait for it... an effect. Music is about the sonic result. Musical skill is about producing consistent sonic results. I know people who can shred like crazy but can barely play the same thing the same way twice. They're often complaining about bands kicking them out. I've grown sour on Tommy Boy over the years but this is the silliest criticism. His riffs slap, that's all that will ever really matter. Everything else duck measuring. Cope, seethe, ect.

For sure, for all the weird sounds and crazy things you can do with the plugin in terms of effects, the actual amp tone is surprisingly limited.

As a recommendation to get more of his sound, switch to the neck pickup and a single coil sound. Looks and sounds like your on the bridge.
I own 5 Neural plugins and think they're all great... this one is a step back for my style IMHO.
