Okay, I have a CF-19 Mk 8 and I am pretty confused the audio board says Mk 7.5 FJ-TH7 and there is a COMS port for the GPS but the WWAN card that came with it Sierra Wireless Airprime MC 7355 also has a micro coax pinfor GPS, should I just use the antenna on this board or install the separate board for COM3?
Great vid - thank you. I retrofitted GPS board but have now lost bluetooth & one of the USB ports - is this software conflict of sholud I recheck hardware/installation?
And what can you do to make sure windows is properly detecting it?? I have a gps module in my cf-19 and windows maps doesn't (or can't) use it for some reason.
You would wire to the passthru then to the GPS in case you were to dock this laptop into your car and there was an external antenna in the car for the GPS. Otherwise you can just direct wire it.
Do you guys sell cf 19 parts and laptops because I want to get a mk8 with i7 processor and 16gb of ram , docking station for the car, GPS. I have a question how well will the mk8 run skyrim

Troy-Good question! It doesn't have any advantages. It was done that way because of the way it was already wired. The antenna either needed to be connected to the GPS board directly or wired into the Pass through antenna. There wasn't room to plug the GPS board and antenna onto the pass through. The way it was done ensures everything is connected and ties into the pass through antenna.

Gee I know how to install all the hardware…anybody who knows how to use a screwdriver can install the cf19 gps Hardware… but what software and what proper software installation sequence is correct to get the gps to work correctly. Aaaand what is the correct dipswitch setting are used to set the radios correctly????

There are no drivers needed for the gps unit. You can download the GPS test utility from Panasonic's website. You will need the full model number of your toughbook.

@@jaguar7051 There are multiple map programs you can find on the internet. Keep in mind that not all are free. Your GPS should be on COM3. We have a blog post about loading some free turn by turn ,map software on a CF-18. Procedure should be very similar. The board where you connect the GPS module to is not a WLAN board, but a WWAN board.

No, the CF-20 uses a GPS card.
