Thank you for this video, just passed the NPTE. Home health was my last clinical rotation, and I really enjoyed it.

Definitely, will try to get my first PT job in home health. Any tips or resources you recommend that I should look into to ensure I get fair compensation?

can new grads look into getting a Home Health PT job? or is it hard to land a job in HH as compared to other PT settings?

It's a bit harder, but 100% possible and happens frequently. I help mentor those who take my course to secure high paying jobs in home health all the time. learn.homehealthcourse.com

    How about for PTAs?

PTAs should be around $35/hour or 70kish a year.

PT Student here. I couldn't agree more. My dad was a NICU NP for 25 years and retired as a Major in the Air Force, and he says $50 per visit is insane because he would make more as a retired nurse than a PT with a doctorate degree. I think more PT's need to speak out about this issue. PT's have the power to shift the direction of this profession. The common consensus is that healthcare professionals who won't take low ball salaries only care about the money. Not true. My dad was a top nurse at his hospital. Doctors would come to him for advice. He took his job very seriously and treated patients with the utmost respect and care and truly spoke to them on a human level. This is because he understands that we are all human with human needs. We all have bills to pay. We all expect to be paid fairly for the work we do. Every last one of my classmates don't buy this garbage regarding low ball salaries. We know very well that this misguided consensus of "we should accept low ball salaries because healthcare should not be about the money" is just a guilt trip created by corporate greed. If you work hard in a competitive field like healthcare where only a small percentage even graduate, you deserve to get paid what you are worth. My classmates and I sacrifice the best years of our lives and work hard at school, and we all know the statistics. The job growth, the upcoming Medicare cuts scheduled for 2022. We aren't stupid. Our generation has been dealt a very bad hand from the great recession to covid, and most of us live with our parents. We have no problem waiting it out until we get the offer that reflects the work we do. We have all the time in the world. These companies do not. We all expect at least $90 per visit right out of graduation, and we all plan to go into home health and be very active in the American Physical Therapy Association. We take our votes very seriously, and we are very resilient within our community. I have several friends willing to start our own cash based PT business eventually. We know the demand and the insane job growth for this profession, and we believe in the fair treatment of our fellow human beings.
