    Here is the link to the personality test I mentioned in the video: dub.sh/personality-test
    Given that most of you are already knowledgeable about typology, the questions on this test will be obvious to you. But, it's very fun to give this to your friends and family and predict in advance what their types will be!

    We INTJ's are all of these subtypes. Many years ago a boss asked me what am I, Not who, but what. Like I am some kind of alien. My responce was : I am what I need to be, when I need to be it. We have the power to tap into all these subtypes when needed, which makes us all the subtypes.

    Great categorization of what feels like the main modes of an INTJ. The Magician resonated incredibly well with me in general because the Ni is omnipresent lol but I can also see the Missionary that comes out when I'm explaining my beliefs, the Industrialist rearing his head when I focus on mundane practicality, and the Anachronist trying to make hard reads and condition when I play fighting games.

    I'm a missionary INTJ. And I'm often incorrectly typed as an INFJ (especially because I'm a female). All very accurate. Great video. By the way: the word "compromise" is like a swear word to me. If I compromise, it means I'm tired and weak.

      I'm an INTJ female as well. The way you view the word "compromise" is how I feel about the word "settling." I believe being able and willing to compromise is important, but I don't believe anyone should try to compromise with the internalized precident and expectation that someone will have to "settle." Where there is a will, there is a way, and the one who settles only does so because they do not have the will. "Settling" to me is just another form of "complacency," but instead of being complacent to a system of rules and expectaions set by corporate or government authorities, it is to the set of limitations we have placed on ourselves. I guess my swear word is "complacency." However, I believe everyone goes through periods of self-induced complacency, but being aware of when we are in such a period is what makes the difference; stagnation vs. growth.

    Interesting. I've always found it hard to relate to the ways that people describe INTJs (as an INTJ), but I don't think they're necessarily wrong, I think they just don't take into account the Magician. I highly relate to it and a little bit to the Missionary, both of which often seem to be overshadowed in conversation by the Industrialist and the Anachronist.
    I've always been much more intuitive and value driven than the hyper-logical and cold INTJ that many tend to portray.

    • @IlllIlIIlII
      @IlllIlIIlII 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I think both of those 'subtypes' feature more of an emphasis on Ni - and I've noticed that other types don't seem to understand Ni for whatever reason, nevermind Ni dominance, and so focus on other attributes of both INFJ and INTJ, but kinda miss the core of both of our types because we're both Ni dominant.
      I think if you don't 'get' or understand Ni, you'll never understand an INFJ or an INTJ, respectively. Maybe that's why people may see us as "mysterious"? Idk, I think it might be one of the major reasons we can feel misunderstood though. I wish I could speak with my unfiltered Ni thoughts and perceptions, and not be met with blank stares or confusion 95% of the time. 🥲
      Sadly, it's largely why I don't bother expressing my true observations, and just play that social game instead. Maybe the lack of understanding would bother you less, as an INTJ, though. 😢 Damn Fe, making me care, lol.

    • @Muffln
      @Muffln 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@IlllIlIIlII Definitely relate to what you said.
      I actually think it (probably) bothers me equally as much when I'm struggling to get across something Te related. Although, I don't really mind it when I struggle getting across something more Fi related, as I'm assuming maybe you'd care less about getting across something Ti related.
      There have been multiple times when I (through Ni) feel a certain way about something, and I'll just realize and accept that I won't really be able to get that feeling across, but when I think something (also through Ni) it is pretty annoying to try and sometimes fail to completely get those thoughts across.
      Thankfully, though, I've only gotten better at Te, so Ni is not nearly as restrictive as it once was.

    • @IlllIlIIlII
      @IlllIlIIlII วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@MufflnYes, I often feel that way too. It's even more frustrating when we can see that our Ni thoughts, if they could be expressed/understood, would solve a problem. (Either practically or socially). Hm, I wonder if that's why we also tend to like to help others (in our respective ways) without them being aware of it - because to express our Ni insights would be futile/too difficult/confusing for the other person, so we just act on them in the background instead of trying to verbalise those insights, or get others onboard to act on them themselves.
      Yes, I think I'm more comfortable expressing Ti, as Ni feels extremely personal. So when it's not understood or rejected, it can feel like a personal rejection on some level. Ni is the lense that we understand the universe, ourselves, and the world and people around us - so a rejection of it feels like a rejection of our truest expression of us? 🤔 Maybe.
      I'm reminded of an example that happened to me recently. A good friend, and someone I generally get along well with, was with me at the beach with another person. I felt relaxed and in a good mood, so I was being a lot less guarded in how I expressed myself aka I was expressing myself unfiltered. So I shared how cool I thought it was that the sand we were walking on was millions of years old, and had likely been eroded and traveled thousands of miles. That the old cliffs and mountains next to the beach were probably where some of it had originally come from, and that some of it may have washed up there from the other side of the world. Basically, it made me happy to think about how something seemingly ordinary or dull, had such a rich history, meaning and purpose about it. I didn't say this next part verbally, but my Ni found it awesome how the sand was like a visual reminder of that ancient history and the passing of time. The sea itself too.
      That is just how I automatically think about things/objects/people/places/ etc... I never thought that was strange.
      And I was in no way trying to be profound at all, I literally didn't think twice about that observation - I was just like, "hey, isn't that kind of a neat thought" in passing, but my friend (who didn't mean to be rude or mean) just looked over at me strangely, and simply and quite bluntly said "Uh ...no. It's just sand."
      That felt like a rejection of my honest Ni unfiltered self, and values. It reminded me why I'm conscious not to share much of my true self and thoughts to most people, despite that not being her intention. Obviously, as an INFJ I just laughed it off, to get rid of the slight social awkwardness, and changed the conversation to asking them what they were doing that weekend or whatever, lol. 😅
      But internally it made me sad for them, and also feel like I shouldn't express my true perspective on things. I rarely do normally, and I felt like I had let myself get too comfortable, to be as unfiltered as that.
      I'm not sure of her type but I can guess it's a low Ni type, lol.
      She meant no harm.... I think she just didn't get that way of looking at the world. The other friend we were with was an ISTJ, and he would almost get irritated or annoyed at me expressing those kinds of Ni thoughts, though I did so very rarely, and often unintentionally. (Again, a nice person, but just didn't get and almost angrily rejected viewing things as anything other than what they obviously, literally were) The ISTJ was I'm pretty sure on the Spectrum though, so perhaps that contributed? Not sure.
      It still makes my heart kinda heavy when I think about it. My Fe felt quite upset that I couldn't share this thought that brought me joy with them, and that it unintentionally seemed to make them uncomfortable instead. I'd love to hear someone else's insight on that, especially if you have low Ni, it's been mulling around in my mind for a while now lol. I'm not sure why some people react that way to Ni... doesn't it enhance their understanding and enjoyment of the world, like it does me? I suppose not? 🤔🥲🥲 Makes me feel a bit like an alien.
      Sorry for the long message, haha. I really would be interested in anyone else's thoughts and I often enjoy reading some really good, in-depth discussions in the comments sections of these videos. 😊 I normally have an Fe panic and delete comments after a few minutes of posting them, but I'm trying to challenge that tendency, lol. 😂

    Me, and not only me, as I see in comments, share all of these traits to a certain extent, so I suppose, those are not subtypes, but rather different traits or modes of INTJ. Each INTJ, evolving through its life, can be more inclined towards that or another mode.

    It’s scary how people on the internet can give such in depth and accurate description of personality of a total stranger and believe me when I say SCARY. It's like another version of myself is verbally piecing together my whole being.
    I'm a mix of the Magician and Missionary, both of them are dominant. Mysterious, abstract, non-verbal, rational and driven by external metrics-these are all undeniably true. As Kynese said "Newton's deepest instincts were occult, esoteric, semantic." While this is also an importat part of my personality, the Missionary just describes me as a whole. Yes I like to put myself and everyone in a "Position". Categorise people and things.
    "driven by a deep belief in a cause or set of values"? "embody what they believe and seek to bring it about in the external world"? "very little compromise in relationships"? "maniacal will to the cause they serve"?
    What else can I say? These are exactly who and what I am.😭 Belief is a strong word. I believe if i perform in a certain way, I can achieve certain things all on my own, no matter how risky it seems or how others say it's impossible.The INTJs shown in frank james's videos tho fall into the other two subtypes, always cold and are sometimes called evil. This is why I could relate to him to some extent but not entirely. I kinda confused myself for an INFJ, but I knew I was not. Cuz I do prefer thinking over feeling right? Just something was off that needed to be figured out. Now it’s all crystal clear. I'm so glad to have finally found the perfect position for myself.

    How would an INTJ be classified that is obsessed with forensic deductions?
    They aren't mysterious, they don't want to take up a cause or fix someone or the world, but they definitely are intense and as a result end up invariably being a professional exile; because for whatever reason, they have a pathological drive to know where things come from, what they do, and finally where they end up. To find and see the man behind the curtain as it were. An anti-magician of sorts. What would that fall under?

      A need to take encoded info and through process of exploration with trail and error be able to decode it while jumping between steps/trying alternative ways ? A very natural and normal thing for someone with dominant Ni and inferior Se. Mysterious is mostly an external perception of conduct. Not necessarily a need born within the individual to be seen as such or to portray themselves in that light. The thing is that Ni usually wants to deal with unknown/little known/difficult to interpret concepts and puts emphasis on understanding the process and make it known as a result. In itself, it can make one more of an outcast because you may step on someone’s system that others have followed with no questions asked. You know yourself best and you know the entire story of your identity which includes the elements others don’t see/can’t understand completely. Simply put - your inside out is not always adequately translated into the outside in others presume when it comes to your identity.

    I think I can do all. First one is silcencing Ti critic and the trap of perfection.. there is no "is". My standards at work I think has led to me being mistyped as ENTJ and ISTJ already - I know the high ups are using it but rather bad at it (nope mr "ISTJ" you are Fe authority, clearly). Missionary.. yep me the lab rat is starting to tell F doms how to Fi and Fe. Last one is developing Se and apply to whatever.. I just spent two hours in the gym hitting the bag and rolling around on the mat cross referencing various styles MA and principles of movent relative to those (also decoding what the ISTP master will only show not tell - no doubt he is doing something of the same right now in the remote hut in the woods he moved to)
    About the missionary.. I was crunching people managing/growing things in the back of my mind at work while going to get a cup of coffee.. and I suddenly noticed my way of walking was just like the INFJ`s 🤣 Usually I deal with technical Ni simulation all day and that did not cause this. I thought we moved differently because I am more of a gym rat and likely to have a more developed Se - maybe not so much, but then again people and drama require a lot more energy and time to crunch for me...
    Btw watched a video on autistic children just before this one.. there were too many similarties with myself to ignore.. are all introverted intuitives naturally on the "spectrum" I wonder?

    The way I usually explain intuition is just as abstractions from (preferably) massive amounts of data. The intuition doesn't happen without some information to hook into. It's not at all devoid of reasoning. You get the information, and then your brain works out patterns from the data, and those patterns can be reused any time the data starts to show similar patterns elsewhere. It's kind of magical, but I don't think we're doing magic. There's just these fundamental laws that everything follows, so patterns naturally emerge. Us INTJ's are just designed to have a heavy focus on this particular set of information. In other words, it's the forest we're looking at, and the data is the trees. We're specifically looking for the outlining trees so we can determine the overall shape of the forest. If it all looks close enough, we can assume certain things about this forest with differing levels of certainty. If it happens to be different this time, we make the necessary changes, learn more nuance from it, and move on.
    Dominant Ni is just a compressed megastructure of these patterns, and the more we can refer to it (pattern recognition) instead of having to add to it (new information not yet added), the more comfortable we are. It's way harder to add to it than to know something already and simply reuse information. The Ni megastructure has to be in harmony with itself too. Once we can consolidate everything we learned about something down into the most compact form of these principles that can be used to regenerate everything, it can finally be considered understood. Until we can do that, it's a refining process to get there. Even after that, as we learn new things, the Ni megastructure is constantly being refined any time we learn something that's able to work out a fundamentally new pattern. Any time we're able to learn a new fundamental that's even more fundamental than the others, and we can consolidate all of the information down even further, that information is super valuable and it feels great every time we learn something like that. It feels like we're one step closer to the ultimate goal of knowing and being able to predict everything (which is impossible, but the closer we get, the more we can rely on the less-stressful pattern recognition).
    I'll try to keep it brief, but I'll give an example. When I was being taught programming, it was really hard to understand how to start. It was after learning about how an analog electrical signal becomes logic (logic gates) that I was able to understand the directionality of the logic used in programming. I realized that "if, then, else" statements are more fundamental than other things, because that's a very easily represented pattern in logic gates. When I learned about logic gates, it really clicked, and I could start piecing together the hierarchy of information that I needed to build, but it was really important that I could orient the knowledge first. Knowing where the patterns are coming from, you can also work out what they'll build into, and you can use that to make predictions, or even just to build programs.

    Help: Am I a non stereotypical infp or intj?
    Because I can relate to both types.
    I'm ILI on socionics, 5w4 sp/sx enneagram, and 541 tritype.
    INTJ:
    I think I'm an intj because I do have the typical aha moments especially in a hypnagogic state, may jump into the solution without knowing how I got there and see a web of cause and effect in a whim. I feel a lot of emotions deep down but my decisions are objectively decided. I'm mostly detached from my feelings when someone needs my advice or decision making.
    I make schedules and structure a plan but it's not detailed because random things happen in life. It's a more relaxed schedule and non suffocating.
    I've memorized the blueprint of our grocery store so I can shop faster. I have developed an efficient way to organize my personal things, laundry etc
    I think I'm not an intj because I'm not that driven, stubborn and non empathetic. I can read social cues and motives. I don't have back up plans most of the time. I'm trash when it comes to math. I prevent myself from seeing the future because it looks bleak and I'm in a shtty situation right now(financially).
    INFP:
    I think I'm an infp because I'm ethical, open and mostly agreeable. I'm a procrastinator too.
    I also come off as a high Ne user when it comes to interacting with close friends and loved ones. But looking at it now I think it's a coping thing to prevent myself from looking like a plank like when I was younger (very stoic).
    My weak functions are Fe and Se.
    Passion/hobby:
    I'm a writer/webcomic artist(romance lol) and I use Ne for generating ideas but I structure everything with Ni in a cause and effect way and don't want to leave any undone seams.
    Maybe I'm just a highly intuitive person?
    I have this innate desire to change the webcomic romance industry(probably an unattainable ambition) because first of all I love writing romance(I don't read tho) and I'm sick of seeing toxic characters masking as a power couple, it has plagued the industry and it fking disgusts me to my core that everyone is just ok with it.
    My story is about best friends to lovers trope and the characters are flawed and nuanced. The story is not just romance but also about patience, introspection, individuality, equal partnerships, self growth, mutual respect and unconditional love.
    I don't know if these are enough to determine my specific type but I hope someone can help me figure out because it's been bugging me for a year now.

      Man I'm struggling with this kind of problem for over 2 years, intj is simply the closest type but in a lot of these videos I don't relate too much. In this one I relate to the 4th. It doesn't usually happen, although I'm happy when it does. My suggestion would be to look at your childhood. When you were a child you only had main function, then look at your teen years, then it starts developing in certain way. That's also the age where you can turn your type into something else without knowing, like for example from intj to infj, or info to isfp. I relate to you on why you aren't intj, I myself struggle in a lot of those aspects, although I do look at the future since I am in no trouble right now. When MBTI types are in stressful stressful situations they are untraceable. Types act polar opposite than they usually would. I'd say you are intj tho

      The best way to be sure of your type, is to compare and contrast the specific attributes of each type (aka, compare Ni and Ne, Ti and Te etc etc) and see which one comes to you most easily/naturally. We all have and can navigate all of the aspects of each type - just some things come to us a lot easier than others.
      To use myself as an example, I'm an INFJ, and my struggle with the Se is obvious to me lol, but I'm actually very good and efficient at using Te. However, while I'm very good at Te, it is something I have to consciously remind myself to utilise. Whereas Ti is automatic and constant for me, and how I naturally am inclined to think about things. I like knowing more and more about a topic simply for the sake of it, even when it has no use to me at all. Researching random topics to a college degree level, just for fun is a very Ti thing lol. That's not how a Te user would primarily spend their time, they would need a reason or application for that information for it to feel worth it for them. For example.
      So, while I'm very good at using Te, and I love breaking down tasks into an efficient strategy (largely so I can avoid using Se), my natural inclination is Ti for sure. You can compare and contrast each function like that to narrow down what type you are. (And really that's the best way to do it.)
      Good luck with your writing btw. 😊 I hope it goes well for you.

      @@IlllIlIIlII but how does one know the order in which their functions are, because he's struggling between Ni-Te-Se-Fi and Fi-Ne-Te-Si. So by that logic he'd have to see is he more Ni or Ne and Si or Se if I'm correct. Right?

    • @IlllIlIIlII
      @IlllIlIIlII 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Oh, just as a bit of extra information that might help give you clarity - sometimes your combination of functions can on a surface level allow you to be better at certain non-dominant functions you have.
      In other words, I talked about Te above, it's likely that my Ni is actually the function I have that makes it satisfying for me to 'find the most efficient way to approach a task' - it's not really about efficiency for me or getting it done quickly, it's about defining and understanding the essence of that thing (NI) and I actually like to explore as much information as possible to define that essence, going past what would actually be the most direct/quickest or most efficient route.
      It takes a bit of reflection and analysis, but if there's two functions that both feel like they come to you easily, it may be helpful to consider that perspective - are there other functions you have that end up /looking/ like any other functions, at least at first, but are in fact coming from a different motivation?
      (Like for me, where I realized while on the surface my approach to some tasks could be seen as very "efficient" compared to other people I know, my priority in a task is distilling and defining it's core essence, meaning, and point (Ni) vs getting the task done in the most direct, effective, and to-the-point manner, avoiding wasting extra time or resources where it's not necessary (Te)) Exploring the topic or task beyond what's necessary doesn't feel pointless to me (Ti) where to a Te user it may.
      I hope some of that helps! Haha 😅😂

    • @IlllIlIIlII
      @IlllIlIIlII 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @P_I_G_G_A Yes, the order of the functions is like your order of preference, and effects your relationship with the function. For INTJ Ni is their first and most natural state of being (same for me as INFJ), then Te, Fi, and Se. INFP's stack is Fi, Ne, Si, Te, so Fi is their dominant function and most natural state of being.
      But for comparing those two types specifically, I would start with comparing Ni and Ne, as that will tell you a lot. Then compare the forth slot Se to forth slot Te, and see which seems the more prevalent in your life. Se inferior is definitely something you notice in your everyday life lol. Compare that experience to having Te inferior. The placements of the functions mean different things, but your inferior function is one of the most easy to determine.
      Breaking each function down and comparing them makes it easier to understand your relationship with it.
      Looking at the stereotypes of each type can be too broad and misleading imo, which is why people get confused between two types that are dramatically different in some cases.
      INFP (Fi,Ne,Si,Te) and INFJ (Ni,Fe,Ti,Se) have zero functions in common and have completely different priorities/motivations (in MBTI), so should be easy to tell which one you are as they are so different, but the surface level stereotypes for both include being introverted or quiet, and usually quite creative people, and so people get confused if they never look at the functions themselves.
      The differences between INFP and INTJ should be more obvious on the surface, but it can still be hard to figure out unless you look at each function, and where in your stack it fits.

    Next, can we get the two types of INTP? I’m the INTP-A (Assertive). Lincoln and Edward Snowden are two others. Einstein's INTP type has not been determined, whether or not he was INTP-A or INTP-T (Turbulent). I wonder if you can answer that. INTP-A can be a revolutionary type of personality, as you see with other intuitive thinking types, even if we must stand alone. There's truth and right and wrong. We will let you know who is wrong and confront the cognitive ease in our society that keeps people from addressing actual issues. Instead, they address an oversimplified version of the problem that dark triad personality types can exploit. That's why societies fail to make progress against them. It may seem too assertive for some, but people need to hear it. On that note, Richard Dawkins is most likely an INTP-A.

      Start by understanding all cognitive functions and their particular way of manifestation depending on where they are placed in the stack. Wide scope is best because it covers all/most ground that needs to be examined after which you will be able to tell your own type.
