Thank you for a most inspirational video from a retired 73 year old retired general surgeon in Denmark.
I am getting much comfort working with Bachs works in these awful corona times.
Hope you are all well.
VIOLA could stand with violin & cello & even with unique middle range that violin & cello could not do. VIOLA PROVE TO THE STRINGS SECTION A SOLO POWERFUL UNIQUE INSTRUMENT MANY MUSICOLOGISTS EVEN IGNORE THIS GREAT VIOLA COULD DO ALL SHOWN IN THIS MASTER CLASS WITH KIM,TEABUA & MiCHEAL.
That moment from 23.00 is just magical. Tabea knows what the student needs and does exactly what it takes to bring our her best.
We're glad you enjoyed it.
What a resource! So much to learn here-great video!
Thank you!
11:43 Bach Cello Suite no 1. (Prelude)

This is like a dream come true.
Thank u for sharing this amazing master class!!!
2:03:50 "if you can play it slowly you can play it quickly"
Thanks for watching!
Tabea 💛💛💛
Isn't she amazing. And having Kim Kashkashian listening and commenting as well, no pressure then!
Who is the pianst?
Thomas Steigerwald

Thanks for commenting.
I love the different approaches, Tabea and Kim are both so musical, I love the esotericism of Kim’s teaching and technical breakdown that Tabea uses.
Tabea is so chaotic in the Brahms one it's hilarious lol
Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for listening.
Viola and double bass sounds the best of the string instruments.
Thanks for the compliment.
54:38 bartok Viola concerto
Nobody ever could ever make the Bartok Concerto sound good... As much as I'd like to like it, it just pains me
@@noahmoment I know you weren't talking to me but for me I don't really like much of the modern style or like very chromatic stuff hard to explain. The person who played in the video is more tolerable to listen to tbh
@@thatsEforEveryone I feel the same way. I guess it's just how I've grown up to classical music or what I prefer playing myself. Maybe it's too sophisticated for me...
What are the pieces the musicians played? Heard something great I don't recognize, but it wasn't introduced...
Bach prelude of the first cello suite, arpeggione sonata by Schubert and Bartok viola concerto
I could be mistaken, but at about the 42:00 moment you can faintly hear an Emergency Exit Alarm going off.
Alptraum
Wow

Wonderful lecture!
Thanks for watching!
I think the best accompaniment for Violin and the Viola is the Harp.
