    I would like to see how many of us would react if someone pulled up our mistakes from 10 years ago? Just a thought....

      Agreed. Unfortunately most people engage in groupthink and don't try to put themselves in other people's shoes.

      un10tytaled Most of us..if caught in our "mistakes" wouldn't repeat them in an even more egregious fashion 10 years later. That's because most of us arent crooks. He is though.

      un10tytaled No it isn't that simple, you can't just call it a "mistake".It wasn't some misguided decision because he knew what he was doing.would people regard murder as a mistake? no because the murderer had full control over the situation and decided to commit the crime. Just like Justin Gatlin!

    Justin Gatlin is a wonderful sprinter but I find it quite strange how defensive and passive aggressive he gets when the subject is brought up. If he had nothing to hide, he really shouldn't be acting like that.

    The cool thing about this is. Gatlin still ran faster than when he was younger and on drugs. How do u explain that haters. He used to cruise 9.77, now he's cruising 9.74.

    • @trackandfieldarchive
      @trackandfieldarchive 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Methoosh Qleeroth It's quite easy to explain actually. He's clearly still cheating. You think it's cool that a twice convicted drug cheat is still allowed to compete and is running faster now, clearly indicating he's still cheating? I don't see anything cool about it.

      T & F archive You can't prove it, he's passed his tests. That's all that matters. And what about if he was never caught? You woudn't even know if he cheated or not. Thus u don't know who else is cheating. Maybe 95% of sprinters cheat including Usain Bolt in that case making Gatlin very talented instead of plain cheater.

    The same folks ragging on Gatlin running insane times at 33 need to ask themselves why people like Merlene Ottey ran under 11 seconds in the 100m a record 67 times...many of those came after age 33. She ran internationally into her 40s.
    Amazing, huh? Some will say she was gifted but others know the full story.

      Gavin Scott Was she getting faster? Or just running respectable times? Oh and can you explain something I've always been curious about?
      Could you explain how Gail Devers could run the 100m flat and the 110 m hurdles at the same time in the Olympics?
      I've always been curious about that.

    • @brucelee3204
      @brucelee3204 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark Tiburcio Haha...1) Bolt been very fast at 15-17yrs running sub 20s at 200m and sub 45s at 400m as a junior. 2) Bolt change coach to sprinter master Glen Mills who identified alot of faults with Bolts body and muscle frame so he was on a 4-5 yrs plan, so thats why you and the rest of the clueless individual heard of the 9.76s run in Jamaica, then he burnt Gay and the world record the next race 9.72s. 3) Ottey ran 1 10.96s at 40yr due to the fact she was proofing to JAAA that she can compete for her country. Merlene Ottey is thee or one of the greatest female sprinter of all time. Ottey very talented, and with aging and her continuous training, she wasn't getting faster and faster, her times was going down... Not like Gatlin aging and getting faster, but the world know why that is. 4) Kim Collins, please he barley can run sub 10s then and now lol, he just train and condition well year after year plus he is a very quick starter, all he has to do is sustain top end speed.
      So once again don't CHAT SHIT if you DON'T KNOW SHIT... just sit back and read comments. Dont get dragged IN.

    People need to accept the fact that a lot of the top athletes in the world have used some sort of performance enhancer, some get caught and some don't. The only one's that are really looked at closely for it are usually the top 3 in the world. But it's very rare that an athlete will openly admit to using something or want to discuss that they ever did use it. These reporters know that and were just giving Justin a hard time. Give the guy a break. Athletes do what they have to do to be the best, I'm not saying it's right, it's just hard for most people to understand.

    • @DavidBarnwell876tkdja
      @DavidBarnwell876tkdja 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Esparza Ha ha haa No. We wont ever give him a break. He's a cheater. No breaks for cheaters. Not even American cheaters.

    • @MikeEsparza1776
      @MikeEsparza1776 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David Barnwell A lot of them are cheaters David, he's just one of the very few that got caught. I'm not saying it's okay to cheat, but I understand the mindset and don't athletes for it. It's hard for a lot understand that some people are willing to do absolutely anything to be the best, they train just as hard as other world class athletes, they're just looking for every edge they can get.
      Don't be surprised in a few years when we find out Jamaica is giving their athletes performance enhancers.

    • @trackandfieldarchive
      @trackandfieldarchive 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Esparza It's hard to give the guy a break when he not only breaks the rules knowingly, but he can't admit to his errors. He obviously has very little regard for the sport or his opponents and certainly none for the fans, so why should we give him a break?
      There are edges, and there are legal edges. I'm an athlete myself and while the thought crossed my mind at one point or another, I just couldn't do it. He may train hard, but he is still knowingly breaking the rules and robbing other athletes of a fair shake.

Do you think they won be testing him closely now to make sure he is clear? Until he is caught again he deserves a second chance. Remember some Jamaican sprinters were caught in recent times too. And doesn't anyone ever wonder WHY Usain hasn't got close to 9.58 again. Think people, you just never know with anyone.

      Please remember, Usain has been demolishing records and embarrassing his competitors at an early age. He didn't just pop up out of no-where. Look back at what he used to do in high school. It's inevitable that he was destined to be one of the world's greatest sprinters. Read the facts, had nothing to with drugs. People will take drugs to compete against him.

N, u can run faster than what u did at 24, 25, it depends on 1's Genectic Build, Mindset, n Attitude toward life, n Training, at 40, Darrly Green of the Red Skins, still ran a 4.2 40 yard Dash, beating out Guys that could've been his sons!!!

    Well, he was running similar times in the 9's before. Failed the drug test, got suspended. Came back, was pretty consistent with running in the 10's.
    Now, suddenly he's back to running similar times that he was running when he failed the test and got suspended.
    It raises suspicion regardless of what country you're from, root for, or what runner you root for. You have to wonder if when he came back from suspension, did his times drop into the 10's because he didn't have a way to beat a drug test. And now, since his times are back to pre-suspension, has he found a new way to beat the drug tests.

      Gregory Parrish I think the main issue is he hasn't admitted his wrongdoings, which shows a lack of integrity, and humility. He should never have been allowed back.
      And to think that he's clean when running faster than when he was proven to be doped just doesn't add up. It's not hating, it's simple logic.

    • @gregoryparrish9528
      @gregoryparrish9528 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      T & F archive It's hating , because suspension means" ban for a while'" not 'for life time' ban. Why do he have to admit to anything? He was accused and found guilty. No need to admit. Haters are going to always hate. Screw them. He's clean now. That's all his fans want on that issue.

    • @trackandfieldarchive
      @trackandfieldarchive 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gregory Parrish Well one problem many have, including myself admittedly, that it was cut from 8 years to 4, similar to Gay getting only 1 year.
      With him not admitting fault, he's basically saying he did nothing wrong, which he did, twice. At least take accountability for your actions and not deny it.
      To really believe that he's clean especially given his history just seems unlikely, though I will not say absolutely.
      I'm an athlete myself (albeit 800m) and I have been ranked top 100 (1:46.4), so while I'm not at the very top I'm on the fringes. So for someone like me who is trying to break through and doing it clean, of course it annoys me to see someone who really should have been banned for life after the second ban still running is a cop-out to every clean athete who respects the rules.

  • @sunnygibbs925
    @sunnygibbs925 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the problem with doping as a world class athlete is that you lose TRUST and respect from everyone. if he wins, ppl will think in the back of their minds how can they trust if his win is a clean win. (its similar to in a marriage if a husband is caught cheating, how does the wife trust him again- every time hes out late, the thought will be in the back of her head). Unfortunately for him, its one of those things that will NEVER go away!

    He's not allowed to race in the UK by invitation because of his drug record. As part of a US team I imagine he'd be allowed to run? The UK's own 100m runner Dwain Chambers who failed, admitted his guilt and served a 2 year ban. Due to his "one" doping ban, he was barred from representing his country at Olympics, Worlds, and Commonwealth Games, plus much of the European racing circuit, from 2006 to 2012. Gatlin got off very lightly, straight back into a US vest, Chambers spent 6 years in the wilderness with no sponsor or support. He turned up wherever he could to race, accepted the whistles and boo's, he never dodged questions, and finally earned the right to run for his country again, but some in the UK still think he should never have been allowed back. Was Gatlin punished? Is he running clean now?

    Wow there is a lot of hate for Gatlin.... Well I guess it is TH-cam after all and people just say whatever that want and display as much hate as they can because they can hide behind a computer screen. Then they go to church the next day and act like their saints lol. I understand country pride but..... What kills me is are those humans from Jamaica who say bad things about the U.S. but yet they live here or want to live in our country?! That's a contradiction at point blank range.
    I don't like cheaters, but I believe Justin Gatlin is running clean and trying to make amends for his past actions. He would have to be the stupidest human on the planet to be taking PEDs now, I mean every time he has been running since he got caught in 2004-2006 the world has been pointing their fingers at him hoping he screws up again. It's crazy how humans in this world just can't wait for you to screw up just so they can feel good about themselves for a few minutes by pointing you out to crucify you've messed up.

    Like i said, stop being naive, the supposedly injury, is an excuse not 2 run while they're throwing test their way, ur just proving my statement for me, if he's supposedly injured, he's not gonna run, so there for that wouldn't be ugh need for PED USE, DUH!!! He knew they were closing n on him as well, stop being naive people, it's almost hard 2 catch these athletes on the PED'S n this day n time, because scientist r paid 2 make unknown masking agents daily, the reasons some r getting caught is because of the snitching by other teams, as well as coaches, n athletes themselves, it's all about the money 100% n this day n time people!!! I guess u all thought the great CARL LEWIS, N FLO JO was clean as well, NOT, they hid it well tho!!! That is the reason the woman who shattered the 100, n 200 meter records all of a sudden retired at the top of the game, n was still n her twenties at the time, because she got caught, n they hid it from the public, she was forced 2 retire!!! n the 84, 88 olympics n which CARL LEWIS HIMSELF POINTED THE FINGER AT BEN JOHNSON AFTER HIS LOST, MOST OF THE VILES WERE TESTED BECAUSE OF TODAYS TECHNOLOGY 2 IDENTIFY MASKING AGENTS FROM YRS PAST, N ALMOST ALL WERE POSITIVE, AS A MATTER OF FACT, IT WAS SO MANY THAT TESTED POSITIVE, THAT THEY DECIDED 2 STOP TESTING!!! BUT, I KNEW FLO JO WAS ON EM, I WAS UGH KID, BUT I COULD C THE HARDNESS N HER SKELETON APPEARANCE, N NOT 2 MENTION, SHE ALL OF A SUDDEN CAME OUT OF KNOW WHERE LIKE BOLT, N STARTED BREAKING RECORDS, DO UR REASEARCH PEOPLE, N STOP BELIEVING THE HYPE, U ALL R PROBABLY THE SAME 1"S THAT THOUGHT Pacquia was gonna beat Mayweather, as u all could c, off the juice, he was just another good fighter at best, n a sore loser with that BS excuse about a torn ROTATOR CUFF!!! It's no way n hell his ROTATOR CUFF was torn the way he was punching the whole entire fight, n afterwards how he raised both his hands up after the fight was over, i''ve had that injury before, i''ve benched over 500 +LBS, SQUATTED OVER 700, N AFTER THAT INJURY, I COULDN'T RAISE MY ARMS UP, R DO ANYTHING, n i'm almost 300 LBS, 6'3, with other multiple injuries from the past, that i'm not gonna mention, but with me saying that, he's full of sh.t, so do your Reasearch people before scrutinizing Gatling, because u knew he was gonna be great from his dominance n college, what about Bolt, STOP IT!!!

      For those of you who don't believe in raw talent, please take a trip to Jamaica and see for yourself. I played soccer in Primary school. I had a friend that was the leading goal scorer in every league he plays in, very talented, foot works and knowledge of the game was unbelievable. But what strikes me is how fast he was. We were only 11 or 12 years old but this kid would get that ball before you, even if you had a 30M head start on him. You're telling me that a poor little kid with this talent under good training and management would end up taking drugs to increase his speed. What reason would he have when he's already demolishing the field with raw talent?

    Finding a drug cheat in sprinting is about as prevalent as doping is in cycling. I really hope down the line Usain Bolt does not become the Lance Armstrong of the sport. These guys are so good denying and living the lie they actually believe they are doing nothing wrong until they finally get busted. On Gatlin for the sake of the sport he needs to be clean, Bolt needs competition to be at his best.

    Ouch 😬. I’m not gone lie tho these athletes that due these things an get in trouble for cheating should already be expecting for these reporters to come at them with these questions so with that being said as a athlete myself they really should prepare themselves very well on what they will do or say when these questions do get thrown at them . So “expect it” response very “smooth lightly” an keep a” smile on u regardless of the circumstances” don’t cut them of it’s a business nothing is personal here so they automatically know that theirs no need to be aggressive at all!! Remember key thing to it all is keep a SMILE ON U NO MATTER WHAT! An expect an!! .

    Gatlin has been proven guilty. he denied it, is he lying ? Only God knows but why do you hate him? He has been given another chance and done nothing but take with both hands. He is running amazingly well and hasn't been proven guilty again
    So u can keep crying about things that happened in 2006 like any of that is important and he will keep getting faster and making more money than you.

    It's amazing how partisan sports can make people. At the end of the day, I just enjoy track and field and don't really get into the nationality nonsense. My own opinion is that the majority of top athletes are cheating, be it steroids or stimulants; and yes, stimulants allows an athlete to release endogenous epi and norepi, which leads to increase tachycardia, increase cardiac output, thus enabling better muscle oxygenation and removal of metabolic waste.
    I will not point fingers at any one athlete, except the ones that have been caught, but the majority are cheating. Should we believe that the richest and most powerful country in the world, USA, have cheaters, but the poorer ones don't. I remember the top 6 women in the 1988 olympics all tested positive, including one of my favorites Merlene Ottey. With the kind of money to be made, there will always be cheaters, and they are some of the best. The USA, China, former USSR, former eastern block nations all cheat., including Greece. Every nation that dominated T&F cheated. Are the JA athletes cheating, i don't know and will not point any fingers; but I certainly will not put my head on a block.
    Look at Tyson, who was one of my favorite, does anyone really believe he just started cheating in 2012. Gatlin, who i like, does anyone really believe that he is not on something. But he is currently testing negative, so what does that say about the tests. Athletes are allowed to miss 3 out of competition positive test, before it's considered a positive . So if guys are allowed to miss 2 test in 5 months, that's a lot of time to use and cycle off in the off season, that is Oct to april. Like i said, with the money involved in T&F, i would be surprised if the majority of the top starts are not cheating. Just my opinion.

Steroids don't make you fst it just give you more strength and stamina allowing you to train longer and harder with hopefully will result in better times
